Venus Williams Plays Tennis in a Lace Minidress – Wow or Eww?

Venus Williams did what she does best at French Open a few days ago… and she showed her athletic skills while wearing an interesting ensemble, especially for a tennis court: a super short, lingerie-like, lace dress and a nude-colored pair of panties that were revealed at every jump.
So how do you like her “sportive” outfit? Is it a Wow or an Eww?

I’m sorry but nothing justifies her lack of common sense. It’s not something you wear to play tennis, no matter if you’re the first player or the last. However her legs are so fine! I’m a bit jealous, but oh well…
How do you know that it’s not something you wear to play tennis? I doubt you actually PLAY like her.
I think the lace dress looks a bit silly, i mean it’s sort of my style, but takes away from the sport. Anyway dressing up is what she enjoys. I agree with the black panties thing. Since she knew she would be showing her tushy all the time her skirt up to her ears, there’s no reason to make the underwear seem invisible. With black or red panties it would look more like a regular dance / tennis / ice skate uniform. She looks a bit old for 29, but i think it’s the mix of genes / facial structure, and her rigorous exercising and muscular frame.
Takes away from the sport? Dressing up is one of the thing I enjoy about playing, I hate wearing those god-awful soccer uniforms.

I meant it kinda makes it harder to take her seriously, as a professional athlete. But then, she doesn’t really need that since everybody already knows she’s a kick-ass player. Oh well.

Those photos are really unflattering. I don’t think the outfit is appropriate for tennis – I understand she wants to be stylish, but lace? Ew. And she should have chosen black shorts that don’t blend in with her skin tone.

anyone who is that critical about this outfit must have no sense of humor and take themselves way too fing seriously. I would really love to see y’all pull this off and look this HOT. Ms. Williams is an incredible role model who is obviously comfortable in her own skin…. which she demonstrates almost near effortlessly (while other celebrities put a facade on for the press, as if trying to convince the masses of their fickle body confidence and superiority…actions speak louder than words?)

Yeah it is a little risque and Venus is not a traditional beauty by Hollywood standards.
But her design shows evidence of a fresh, creative and unfettered mind…and her body is a work of natural art.

In the holiest of places, in the Vaitican ,italy , women’s breasts are not censored. In canda, woem n have to right go topless and braless in any public palce just like men. In fact many of the world’s greatest and most beautiful art is naked.

If seeing someone nude, especially someone fit, are you dieng? so stop acting like you are.

She’s playing tennis though…. It’s a pretty reserved sport, and there’s a certain etiquette that’s usually followed. Not saying there is anything wrong with being naked, just think it’s maybe a bit much for looking semi naked while playing tennis in public….
I’m not going to argue with most of what you said, except to say if your skin is brown and you wear brown shorts, than they are in fact ‘nude’ colored shorts. If you have beige skin and wear beige shorts then they are considered nude as well. Venus is definitely wearing nude shorts here.
I don’t hate the tennis outfit, but I wish she had worn black booty shorts.
I think it took guts to do what Venus did. My only thing is that I hope at the end of the day she look in the mirror and relize that she and her sister are strong beautiful black females. I pray for our celebs and atheletes everyday. Thank you for doing what so many of your brothers and sisters don’t have the chance. Hats off, big respect my sisters. Keep it real.

Probably due to low body fat (the girl is mostly muscle) plus being outside most of the time, probably with no sun protection.
I think we’re saying “eww” not because we’re prudes and hate the sight of sweaty butts, but because the outfit isn’t nice. The lace looks cheap, and the red/black combination isn’t a formula for classiness. Lace can work if it is a high-quality cotton crochet lace, used as trim with a sweet, pastel-colored or cute nautical-striped tennis dress, but it probably wouldn’t match Venus’s personal style. If Venus wanted a sexy, red/black tennis dress, she should try a ruched, body-hugging lycra minidress (sort of like a cocktail dress), instead of profusions of cheap-looking lace that look like dollar-store lingerie.
On a side note, I think the shorts are genius. What a great way to distract your opponent!

Honestly,i was more shocked to find our she is just 29 years old!…to me she looks way older..But this does not change the fact that she is a great athlete and she may have a greay personality.To me the way “you”are as a person changes my whole perception of “you” and thus the phisicall appereance counts so much less.
