Vanessa Hudgens rocks a bikini on the cover of Shape Magazine, showing off her nicely toned figure. Let’s see what she says in the interview:
Back in 2007, Hudgens was like many teenagers: completely addicted to junk food. “I was so unhealthy,” she admits. “I used to go to Cold Stone Creamery, get a tub of Butterfinger ice cream, and eat it all before bedtime. And my fingers were permanently stained orange from Cheetos.”
Her aha moment came while she was on tour with High School Musical that year. The company took a short break, so Hudgens stopped doing the rigorous dance routines for a few weeks. “When I came back, I almost couldn’t get my costume on. I needed to do something about my diet.”
First, she started eating breakfast every day. “I like egg white omelets with veggies, or oatmeal with almonds and fruit,” she says. For lunch and dinner, she has a spinach salad with grilled chicken or salmon, marcona almonds, feta, a little truffle oil, and a sprinkle of pink Himalayan sea salt. “It’s my favorite meal,” she says. “When you’re putting good stuff into your body, you feel so much better.”

I don t mean to be rude but she gained some weight in the last time.
That s nothing bad but I can t believe she follows her diet as strict as it sounds and sorry but those abs look pretty photoshop-made.
At least in comparison with photos of her with clothes I couldn t imagine she hides those abs because she doesn t look that toned as she used to.
I dont know about this pictutre. I can’t tell much, i mean she wears a cardigan over het bikini and the way she stands could make her toned and thinner than she really is.
@liza and @samra . i think the cardigan does help in making her look toned because as ive said in the other post im built same way as her but taller. she has really toned legs and small waist but huge arms and in clothes it makes her look bigger than she actually is. so for them it was actually smart to put her in a cardigan to hide it and show off how great her midsection is. of course i still think photoshopped help.
but im sure that shes in great shape and wouldnt be surprised if she did have abs. and she has rreally nice legs

i guess i was exageratting because i was talking about myself too. my bad. but yeah i was just thinking they were referring to her latest post where she did look a lot bigger because of her “bigger” arms.

Hmm, I dunno, I remember her having a tiny bit of a tummy rather than thick arms. You must have payed more attention than I did, though, since you relate to her body shape, but I always thought she was a bit bottom-heavy with some fat on the lower tummy.
not sure about the lower tummy part. but shes bottom heavy in a sense that she had more ass than boobs i think. but her legs were always nice and toned while her arms were not as toned and nice.
lol. maybe i didnt notice? she doesnt wear too tight fitting that often i guess. always with her “boho chic” looks. :/

whatever….no matter what anyone says, she still doesn’t look bad AT ALL. people always finding something to nit pick. She looks great, and is clearly a petite slightly curvy girl.
No doubt ,Hollywood is lucky to have an actress which looks healthy,fit and pretty.
It s just that in those interviews it always sounds like celebs live with so much discipline etc. and I think it s ok if they would say”I like to eat chocolate or a Mac and Cheese”(like,not every day but also not only once a year).
And it s true – if you eat wel,you feel good.And that s what counts,not if you fit into the image the media wants to see.

i think they swing between extremes, one minute saying as vanessa does, I am/was an absolute pig, I stuff my face all the time. the next minute talking about egg white and spinach omeletes! maybe its just the way they edit stuff in the magazines. wouldn’t surprise me- they are always trying to create controversy out of nothing.
Loads of celebs seem to rant and rave about egg white omelettes, oatmeal and grilled chicken. There’s plenty of other healthy food! Some celeb diets sound so dull D=

My mother used to cook for a very famous supermodel and all she ever consumed was egg weights and cocaine. The model not my mother!!! If you’ve ever eaten and egg white omelette you know it’s like eating a pillow the blandest most tastless thing ever outside of Liz Hurley’s movie career!!

Exactly…. It’s always the same diet. Egg white omelette or oatmeal, chicken salad for lunch and fish and veggies for dinner. And berries and nuts for snack.
That simply seems to be the Hollywood standard answer. I eat the same things, but if i did that everyday i would get bored as **. I mean, who can eat fish and veggies EVERY night. But perhaps they have cooks that can turn fish and veggies into something new and exciting each night. Dunno, but i’m outta ideas
And i wish some celebs could come up with a new answer, bring something new to the table…
Agree about egg white omelettes… the most boring thing ever and way to jelly like. Then i’d rather have an omelette with one whole egg, than four egg whites
I agree too – especially about the egg whites. Scientists are now saying that egg yolks raise good cholesterol, not bad, so eating them is not so unhealthy after all. It’s better for you and much tastier to eat the whole egg – egg whites have very little nutritional value apart from protein.
And celeb diets do often sound extremely boring! I just would not be able to eat like that for any length of time, no matter how much weight I lost. There’s more to food than just nutrition and calories for me – it’s got to satisfy my taste buds too! I like plain food like oatmeal, steamed veggies, etc – but day after day that would get me down! Sometimes I think people on those sort of diets are a bit sad, is it really worth it just to be thinner?
well not everyone has the same taste.
just because you think its boring, that doesnt make it boring to the entire world. why is it sad to be dedicated and healthy?
Sorry to offend, I was actually going to add that! If people do really enjoy this sort of food all the time, then I’ve got no problem with it – the fact that I don’t like meat, hate the taste of fresh coriander and detest Nutella has garnered some rather disbelieving looks at times as the majority of people like all three things!
I didn’t mean to sound rude about people who like that sort of thing – I just think it’s sad when people deprive themselves of things they really like to eat, simply to be very thin, but of course that’s not the only reason people eat this kind of diet. If you truly love your diet – then I’ve got nothing negative to say! I really meant it for people who actually do find the diet boring but do it anyway because they want to be thin.

I know – it’s especially weird because an egg with the yolk only has about 90 calories, which is hardly anything. Why the hell would anyone get rid of the yolk? It’s the best part!
Yeah, egg whites are really tasteless, but I confess that after hearing so much about the high cholesterol levels of yolk I can’t make a omelete with the whole egg without feeling like I’m doing something bad for my health.
But for me, the taste is also very important, so what I try to do when cooking eggs (wich I love to eat, by the way) is mix one whole egg with one or two egg whites. This way it tastes good but I feel like at least I’m reducing the my cholesterol intake.
Egg yolks dont really affect your cholesterol unless u eat more than 3 a day. Scientists r now saying eggs yolks actually raise the good cholesterol not the bad. Eggs yolks contain loads of vitamins E & D, iron vitamin B12 & many others. Also I have read that to metabolise the protein in the egg whites properly u need sum of the fat in the egg yolk. Also the yolks add barely any extra cals & when u consider the health benefits of the yolks it should be a no brainer when u decide to eat or not to eat them. Chucking them out is like throwing away gold but gold that brings health not wealth! ALWAYS GO FREE RANGE or organic free range if u can cause those contain higher amounts of vitamins & support healthy environments for chooks.
i can’t deny, she looks great on this cover. but we all know, covers are always photoshopped (more or less). that said, she has a great body, but i don’t know if in reality she has those defined abs.

I agree with her about eating breakfast. I read somewhere that if you eat within an hour of waking up, it kick starts your metabolism. I started eating breakfast everyday over a year ago. I lost 20 lbs in two months and have maintained. I’m not so keen on egg whites though. But some cereal with fruit or almonds keeps me full until lunch. I used to snack all morning, skip lunch and then overeat at supper. So yay to breakfast!

For me the exact opposite happened! I used to eat breakfast religiously, and as soon as I stopped, I lost 10 lbs. To each his own? For me I think the problem was the eating breakfast may have jumpstarted my metabolism but it also jumpstarted my cravings…
If you don’t mind me asking what were you eating? I noticed a weight gain if I eat certain food groups at certain times of day. Strange but true.
i always eat eggs for breakfast to start my day, and i’ve lost 20lbs in the last year.
when i ate breakfast before the weight loss that i thought i was eating healthy by having oatmeal with honey or branflakes but really i was eating larger portion sizes than i thought and just a ton of carbs.
protein is the way forward!!

Well I’m in graduate school and work full-time so I don’t have a lot of time. I’ve always been somewhat healthy but after my undergraduate studies I went from 115lbs to nearly 160lbs (I’m slightly over 5’6″ now and am sitting right around 135lbs)….
For breakfast I love oatmeal with fruits or almonds and toast with some of my family’s homemade jam. I cut coffee and pop out of my diet, so I usually have a glass of millk or orange juice. After breakfast I go on a 2 1/2 mile jog around my neighborhood then another jog after supper (so around 8: 30). I try not to eat after my 9pm snack of an apple or bananna or maybe a small bowl of breakfast cereal (like Special K).
I do weight training three times a week (ususally Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) and then 45 minutes of cardio on the other days with Saturday being my off day.
I have a fairly small frame and would like to lose 10-15 more lbs. I’m taking getting back in shape slow and steady (no crash diet for me!) and all seems to be going well. I just had to retrain my brain, after four years of bad eating habits, to get by on the right track. A healthy diet and regular exercise is the tried and true method!
A little off topic, but have any of you seen the new Ke$ha bikini pics? I was definitely not expecting her to look like that!
Thank you! I was thinking about commenting that, too and hoping the pics would show up here as well. She looks terrible. I will take my pear shape and thick thighs any day over the way she looks like. Very unfortunate.
Kinda harsh miss polyglot? She doesn’t have the greatest body shape but I wouldn’t say she’s unfortunate. Granted, I wouldn’t switch with her..if she worked out more, she would look a lot better.
her abs seem fake. the rest of her body would be more toned– not that there is anything wrong with her size… never been a fan, but she does look endearing.
I am not hating and I think Vanessa Hudgens has the perfect body. She is not too skinny and is toned in all the right places but THOSE ARE NOT HER ABS!!! They are completely photoshopped. Yes she has a flat stomach but it is no where as defined as that photo makes it look.

Oh these diets sound so dull:( I maintain my weight through 45 minutes of hard running every day and that way I can eat unhealthy stuff and healthy stuff.
i think she has a nice body, but i am not sure that’s her abs, she doesn’t have such a definition as far as i remember, cos there were pics of her perfomance on broadway i think, she was playing a stripper and dancing in cropped top showing her belly, there was a bit definition but just cos when she was dancing, in pics where she wasn’t dancing it was more like a flat type of belly…

I do not understand why Vanessa apply so restrictive diet. Junk food is unhealthy, but there was no need for it to weight loss. I don’t remember that ever she was overweight. In this way, celebrities promote weight loss obsession

dunno why they have photoshopped in abs- fitness mags in britain don’t have such extreme images. there is nothing wrong with having such defined abs, but unless you are an athelete its fairly rare in women, and not on most females aspiration list. certainly not on mine! and I said most not all before everyone jumps.

I just started having a meal replacement breakfast peptrib shake so I just hard boil my eggs now and use them for lunch. Also have 2 fruits usually an orange and an apple before lunch.
if you compare this to her recent photoshoot pictures, and pay attention to her hips… this is photoshopped. she’s hot though.
also, i love egg whites! the yolk makes me sick. each to their own.

If anyone has any doubts about whether or not she’s in shape and has those abs, just go to the magazine website and look at the behind-the-scenes video of her shoot. She’s demonstrating some moves I guess while they take pics for the mag, and trust me, she has ripped abs.
I’m sorry but she is too large. She looks rather awful in photos and in the magazine. For the rest of America, Vanessa is acceptable but in Hollywood she looks too fat. She can’t wear clothes!
