Did Cheryl Cole Get a ‘Makeover’?
January 25, 2010 in Cheryl Cole, Then and Now by Versus
Makeover (or makeunder), meaning ‘plumper lips’ in this case.
The Daily Mail has this to say:
But this occasion, no garment, however outrageous, could have drawn attention away from Cheryl Cole’s alarmingly oversized lips.
The X Factor star’s mouth looked unusually plump as she arrived in London yesterday – prompting speculation that she has used Collagen injections.
Representatives of the Girls Aloud singer denied this was the case, saying ‘she has definitely not’.
What does Cheryl think about plastic surgeries?
‘I wouldn’t deny it if I had cosmetic surgery. I wouldn’t just come out with big boobs and say, ‘No, I haven’t had an operation!
I think imperfections are sexy anyway, I honestly do,’ she continues. ‘If everyone looked perfect with a perfect face and perfect boobs, it wouldn’t be sexy as it’s not real life.
What do you guys think?

I saw these pics yesterday and was hoping it would end up here. It definitely looks like she has, which is a shame. The whole country is in love with her, she can do no wrong so why would she mess? I think she has gone to far with her appearance, sadly it is the key to her success and the reason she broke away from the rest of Girls Aloud, so no wonder she is so focussed on it.
Her quote is hypocritical as she has altered almost all of her imperfections.
It’s funny how it’s called perfection, having a surgically enhanced features. Even if i don’t think if altering your body is good or bad, i don’t necessarily find bigger lips, smoother forehead or bigger boobs more beautiful or perfect, or even a smaller straighter nose. I think it’s a style, a preferance (it’s different if you have quite clear imperfections that draw attention or something, and mold those into a more standard shape, but ppl with lots of surgeries tend to look alike, kinda.) But umm.. to me it looks like she has had some injections, but she’s also wearing a ridiculous amount of lip gloss.
I AGREE! There really is no such thing as PERFECT since beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder:) I personally love seeing unique features on a person…it’s what makes them them!
I think she did get lip injections just judging from the top lip…either that or it’s the camera angle and the lip gloss combined. I’ve even heard of celebs putting a little roll of paper towel between their lip and gum to make their lips appear fuller! My guess though is lip injections.

Can we stop with the myths please? It’s just an old saying to make ugly people feel better about themselves.
and it made you feel good about yourself?
You really aren’t a very effective insulter. We get it, you are young, hot have perfect boobs and you think you are better than me.
Well you are. Feel content in your place and leave me alone.
I know symmetrical features are what usually is viewed as beautiful (and at least subconsciously by most even if they try to convince otherwise), but i do think ppl with asymmetrical features can be stunning too, and i don’t think everyone who undergoes surgery ends up looking more symmetrical per se, not in a natural looking way at least. I think many just get that plastic-symmetrical look (i’m sure there’s a better way to descibe it but..), which i personally don’t find attractive always (some end up looking really good though)
I agree. Loads of people find Adriana Lima to be the most beautiful woman in the world, but her face is not that symmetrical. Same with Ana Beatriz Barros.
I also believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Loads of people find Brad and Angelina gorgeous, but there are also people who do not find them remotely attractive.
I’ve had men falling over themselves to help me with whatever they can, but I’ve also been laughed at and called hideous. Beauty is a very subjective thing.
i get the whole symmetry thing, but i still believe that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ i can’t count how many times there has been a guy that all my friends think is gorgeous but i just don’t see it. people try to put beauty into a box but the truth is that if everyone had the same taste then only beautiful people would make babies because there has to be some attraction. jlo is someone i think is very average and plain looking but then she is often on the forbes ‘most beautiful people ‘list. there is no one on this earth that everyone would consider beautiful, therefore it’s not a myth that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’
Hmm. I think the point that proponents of the symmetry theory are trying to make is that everything, aside from symmetry, is in the eyes of the beholder. (for the average person, since there are always a few exceptions to everything)
You might disagree with your friends’ taste in guys, but what the symmetry people are trying to say is that it’s very likely that the guy your friends find attractive and the guy you find attractive both have symmetrical facial features (not a crooked, sideways nose, not one eye bigger than the other, not a jaw going off sideways).
Also, I want to add, average facial features have been shown to be more attractive universally as well. Average meaning size, so an average nose is usually preferred over a small nose or a big nose…etc etc.
i am disputing the findings. i think there is something that can’t be quantified that makes people pretty. but i think there is still wriggle room. without seeing the pictures you don’t t know what they are responding to. i think there are things we all respond to as indicators of youth and health, shiny hair and dewy skin. things that are faked in professional photos. what is their definition of an average woman, was she made up like professional model or just snapped like you might be for your passport pic?
what i do know is that there are people who are models and actresses that others find attractive, and i genuinely don’t find them attractive at all. i won’t name names as i think thats mean.
all babies are absorbing info all the time. maybe our definitions of beauty grow and change with experience.
wow she had some nice lips on her before pic, but who doesnt like big full lips?
I agree she has too mutch LIPGLOSS ON! lol!
big lips is somtin i wish i had,
but yet if u see most people with fixed lipz , they look fake,
i want them to look more natural.
can someone tell me which celeberties has fixed their lips, but it still looks ntural, i want to kn0w?
I do not like big full lips.
Really K.? I am genuinely curious, what’s a celebrity whose lips you admire? I like Adriana Lima’s : D
Rachel Wiesz and Camilla Belle are in my opinion the most beautiful women in the earth! But you see, Diane Kruger, Gwyneth Paltrow…
i don’t like them either w/ a few exception
but nice shapped middle-sized lips are perfect
I just don’t understand how can a woman believe that she is going to look better with fake lips!
I have never ever seen anybody who “pumped” lips and said “Whoa, she is looking like a godess”… My reaction is always the opposite…
i think if it is natural it can look stunning. i have fairly normal lips, and i actually had them swell up as a reaction recently, and i looked so freaky! put me right off ever having them plumped up. i didn’t want to go out in public!!
sHE LOOKS like daffy duck! And I mean the lips not her face what a shame she’s a pretty girl.
She looks like she might have gotten her lips plumped. But I don’t want to be quick to judge because she’s wearing mass amounts of lip gloss and that always makes lips bigger. I can’t imagine her lips actually look like that and she’s denying having anything done.
“If everyone looked perfect with a perfect face and perfect boobs, it wouldn’t be sexy as it’s not real life.”
I don’t get the logic of this quote. Not sexy because it’s not real life? Maybe someone can translate for me.
Well this is a Cheryl Cole quote so as usual needs some decoding. What I think she means is fake is not sexy, yet she is the prime example of people thinking fake is sexy.
it’s funny because i saw a pic of cheryl the other day and i was wondering why she hadn’t been tempted to have some sort of surgery like 90% of celebrities do. i thought maybe she was one of the few celebrities who is happy with themselves, a couple of days later… this pics comes up. it’s like a disease, it should be called celeb-dysmorphia. The more money/fame a person gets, the more they seek to fix features that were fine in the first place
she has had botox, teeth whitened, has fake lashes and fake hair in all the time. and there were rumours of a boob job as she seemed pretty small chested when she started out with girls aloud, but now is apparantly a 32e. there’s not much else you can have done at 26 is there? full face lift might be a few years away yet..
Cheryl has clearly not had “botox”. Get your facts right before you say something, and shes certainly not had her boobs done.
obviously her lips are fake just like the rest of her.i think cheryl is over-rated she ant even sing or dance england is such a joke.
Wow she is so pretty! I honesty don’t know if she had them done, these are the only pictures I have seen and to tell you the truth I don’t think she has. Well, except in the first photo they do look a bit large, but it could be just lip gloss, like a lip venom (anyone ever tried that stuff? omg it works really goo, TOO good haha). In the bottom photos she looks the same, just with a ton of lippy.
I believe her when she says imperfections are sexy, although normally I would think it’s just to please the media. It comes from a place of truth for her because she has gotten a lot of criticism on her supposed “flawed” nose but she hasn’t gotten a nose job or anything. She has the exact same nose (and face/body) as when she was younger, just leaner and more fit.
I really like Cheryl Cole, her new album is not something I would normally listen to (pop music) but I downloaded it and it’s so fun to dance to!
em nose criticism? i have never heard anything about her nose? and this i would love to hear cause it looks pretty near perfect to me. what could people possibly criticise??
I have no idea if she had her lips done but she looks worse than usual. I think she has the most perfect face and there’s no need to change it drastically – surgical intervention is definitely not necessary for her.
Shes probably had it done before and this is the first time we have seen them before they’ve “settled in”.
Cheryl used to have a “pursed” looking mouth during popstars the rivals but now its more generous which is why I think she might enhance them a little.
Does anyone remember when Jordan had them done after she dyed her hair dark and they looked very odd, but after they settled it just looked like very full lips?
i’ll wait til i see another pic of her before i comment, could just be too much gloss, combined with a pouty expression and lip plumping gloss maybe – that stuff works on my lips but hate the feeling so don’t wear it
um, why is she denying this? This hyper-inflated look is not just because of ‘camera angles and/or plumping lip gloss’! lol
Beauty is about BALANCE.
Big lips are not beautiful if they are not in balance with the rest of the face — same goes for other features. And for something to be in balance — it must appear ‘natural.’
And more importantly — beauty is about loving oneself. There are women who are far from what is perceived as beautiful — yet carry themselves with such confidence and grace that any minor imperfection becomes beautiful. And there are women who are physically very attractive yet always nitpick themselves (“my nose is too big” … “my eyes are too close together”..) — and there is nothing less attractive than that.
No amount of cosmetic surgery/enhancements/lbs of make-up can ever make a woman love herself.
Bravo! I couldn’t agree with you more!
Great post. I agree with what you’ve said. I’ve known women who, in pictures, look average at best, but when you’re there with them in person they have such an amazing aura about them everyone is drawn to them and wants to be their friend/boyfriend. Beauty is so much more than just your outward appearance.
ugh. she looks so silly. but she always has. so fake – fake teeth, fake hair color, fake hair extensions, fake eye lashes, fake boobs, unnaturally thin, too much make up, fake tan, etc. such a bad example for young girls. so trashy. clearly, i am not a fan.
this picture isn’t representative of her though.
she’s naturally beautiful, watch the kilimanjaro documentary. Women should be supporting other women not calling them fake like some jealous school girl.
Nahh, Cheryl hasn’t got her lips done. She would admit it if she did anyway. Alot of people say she is a bad role model to young girls, well i am 14 and shes been and will always be a great role model for me. There has been times where i’ve been lost and just even hearing Cheryl sing or anythingg always puts a smile on my face. I’m such a huge fan of Chezza’s and i just know she has not had her lips done, It will just be an allergic reaction to something as this has happened to me before with a certain lipstick (yepp it is very unpleasant!) I may be wrong but tbh i definately think she hasn’t had her lips done.
Iluu Cheryl xxx
I have the exact same nose as Cheryl – I get comparisons to her a lot!
I DO think her nose is big though – especially from side view – search photos those of you who don’t believe me
……….However, like Cheryl says – flaws are attractive & i certainly regard her nose as a welcoming flaw! Makes her seem more normal
It’s just a bad picture. you can see that if you see the other photos from this set, she’s just wearing way too much lip gloss
