Taylor Momsen is very young and her stage outfit is… very provocative. It’s a combination of almost-pantless, see-through and sequins, topped with garters.
Where did Taylor wear this outfit? Her band The Pretty Reckless played an outdoor concert during the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week yesterday.

Ok even Miley Cyrus wouldn’t even go that far-up her leg. Joke. But seriously this girl, Taylor Momsen used to be a goody goody Cindy Lou-Who and now she’s a crack-head wanna be. Seriously. And she looks like a hooker.
nobody has any right to comment on her look, if that how she want s to dress then that’s how she wants to dress yes she maybe 16 but its not like you haven’t worn anything provocative in your life or when you were young and where the hell did you get crack-wannabe from seriously, its really stupid to put someone down just on how they look or choose to dress, in fact its pathetic and well at least Taylor Momsen didn’t post half naked pictures of herself around at 15 soo Miley Cyrus is no better.

One: Um, yes, we do have a right to comment on her look. The term is ‘sharing an opinion.’ Note that complimenting her style would also be considered commenting her look.
Two: And where did Miley Cyrus come from? Seriously, for all you know the people you just attempted to tell off also dislike Miley Cyrus. Bringing her up would only be relevant if someone had said “Omg she’s such a slut, Miley Cyrus is way better.”
Three: If you have a moral objection to discussing the fashion sense of celebrities, why are you on this website?
(And don’t even pull the you’re-just- jealous card. I actually do like her outfit, and even if I think she’s a bit young for it, that’s not even half as annoying as someone saying that I don’t have a right to state my opinion.)

I don’t think she chose the show because of her personality, I think she chose the show because her agent got her a job there and told her it would be successful. Would we even hear about her if she wasn’t on Gossip Girl? Doubt it. But that doesn’t mean she’s the same personality as the characters she plays or the people that watch the show…

No kidding. I’m 16 and it’s usually the very clean cut, sweet, blond girls who drink a lot and are… promiscuous. Taylor Momsen may or may not be in a bad place right now, but her clothes don’t really tell us either way.

I wore this too when I was 16. But my hair was blue and I wasn’t quite as cute but rather pissed-off. But to be honest, I just think a random girl from a shitty town can pull it off (without lookin good but at least like herself) but I have to say I think it kinda contradicts the rest of her image. At least the image I have of her.

even if her band is called the reckless doesn’t mean that you have to look like that, she is a role model for some girls and she is like that, I know JENNY (her role in GG) wanted to emancipate but I did not know that she is actually emancipated from her parents because if that girl were my daughter I would never let her leave the house like that. :S

i know high school girl clothes are a little different in the ways they’re revealing, which is a little more socially acceptable but no high schoolers go round wearing stockings and a shirt :S

Its one with being 16 and weating a see-threw top and pull-ups and a garter playing around with your friends at your house, taking ‘slutty’ pictures and teasing about but being on stage in front of papz and a crowd of how ever many people is another thing.
Not saying she doesnt look great, body wise, because she does. I’m 3 years older than her and I dont even have the confidence to go swimming so I certainly envy her confidence.
I’m sure she thinks its all just ‘the look’ to go with her music(I’ve heard a few of her songs and she is a really good singer and the songs are not bad at all) but surely she could have put a pair of tights on.

the difference is that miley’s show is geared towards children… little kids. gossip girl, while watched by young people, is not intended for kids.
like it or not, miley has chosen to be a role model for kids. no one forced her to straddle a pole (and she totally did, if even for a second.. it came off as provocative). she has to hold herself to a higher moral standard ESPECIALLY because she purports to be such a good christian.

Taylor Momsen is such a naturally stunning girl. I can’t wait for her to out grow of this sixteen year old experimental stage so she stops looking like a clown with the red lipstick and the heavy black eyeliner. Wow, I love these people that are ragging on TM and GG because of her. When the show first came out people loved her. I am a 17 year old girl, I would never wear that outfit out in public, but then again, I couldn’t pull that off. Taylor on the other hand, is a girl that can. When you’re 16 you want to dress how you want to dress, and you don’t care about the world. As long as her music and actings stays good, why the hell should it matter what she puts on her body? You’re not her…it’s not your choice.

Sorry, couldn’t tell the difference. I agree with most of the comments above. This is hardly appropriate for a 16-year-old… it’s not really a good look for anyone. I would advise her to a) stop using that much makeup, b) get different… hair, and c) put on some more clothes. Something less see-through. And pants. And get rid of that bling. It’s just… tacky.

I love her stage look, she mostly wears the garters and thigh highs for performances, music videos, and publicity stuff. It is the persona of the band. She is her own person and does what she wants and wears what she wants.
I agree I work at a nightclub/bar and I’m only 18 and we wear the same kind of stuff if not more risqué and that is just the way and industry works to be honest.
