I thought Rihanna at first! She definately has a bigger “booty” than I realised, but she looks fab! Not a huge fan of the length of dress, think the combo of that and the shoes make her legs look a bit on the short side.

i also am so happy she cut her hair! it’s more edgy because she’s so naturally beautiul, having the big hair almost takes away!
I LOVE her. She is amazing. Not only has she had a baby, but she had a baby at what, 40 years old? Incredible. She is so sexy. Her skin, body, talent is flawless..yet she seems so down to earth and effortlessly this way.
LOVE the short hair again! Not everyone can pull short hair off. Her facial features are so gorgeous, it makes her look younger, and she stands out from everyone else in Hollywood, in a GREAT way!
I am not a fan of 40 year olds dressing like 20 year olds. I love her Camilla Skovgaard shoes though.
She looks as good as as(and even better than some) 20 yos., so why shouldn’t she dress how ever she pleases?
I’m not saying she shouldn’t dress however she pleases. I was just stating a personal pet peeve. I dunno, I guess I just don’t necessarily agree with the whole, “if you have it, flaunt it” adage that seems to exist regardless of age. She looks great, but I like it when 40 year olds dress their age and still look great.
Also, I feel as if Halle Berry often gets a free pass on what she wears, whereas someone else would have been labeled a slut or “trying to act young.” She is considered classy, regardless of what she wears or does, which I guess, is something I don’t necessarily agree with.
She gets a free pass on what she wears? Hmmm…I think she dresses according to her body type and many other women don’t. She knows what flatters her figure and goes with it. I admire that. I wouldn’t know that she was in her 40′s by looking at her. And class often refers to an individual’s attitude, as well as how they dress. I like both.
I don’t mean to belabor the point. I meant that among some African Americans, she seems to get a free pass regardless of what she does or wears and they vehemently defend her. It just seems odd to me I guess.
I think she looks her age, or looks like she is around her mid 30′s but again thats just me.
I guess we have different definitions of class and thats fine. On a tangent, but I don’t think her recent actions with Jamie Foxx were very classy.
it makes sense to me for her to wear whatever she wants when she has an amazing amazing body…..she can get away with it cus she doesnt look like those other one who gets called a slut b/c she doesnt look her age when the others look older than their age…
LISA- I, as a half African American, half caucasian woman, am offended by your comment. I think it is ridiculous for you to say that “African American” women give her a free pass…. Even if you put the word “some” in front of it, it doesn’t matter and isn’t true. Plus, who are you to say something like that and judge? It makes me wonder if you are racist or one of “those” people who don’t think they aren’t prejudice, but in actuality are but are to oblivious to recognize it. Like ” I gave money to the kids in Africa so I am not racist.”

Halle has NOT had a sex tape and was never caught out partying or leaving clubs intoxicated or going to places just to be “seen”, she has a GREAT reputation of being a classy woman who treats acting as a job, not as a “free pass” to do whatever the hell she likes. If she had been known to act like trash and not behave like a sophisticated woman then NO she wouldn’t be able to wear whatever she wants and not get “called out” on it. Since she is classy, her wearing a sexy backless dress that still comes to the knees, is more than acceptable. She is classy, and sexy. Get over it. You obviously have some issues, especially when it comes to an “African American” woman not being called a “slut” or “trying to act young.” Plus, you automatically assume that EVERYONE who thinks she is fantastic, is BLACK.

Sorry- the dress isn’t quite to her knees…but it sooo obvious that you are MORE bothered by the fact that she is black and people (black, white, spanish, european whatever!) think she looks great. ” I don’t mean to “belabor” your comment, but it was such bigotry, more so than people realize, but hopefully I have pointed out your flaws just as you have pointed out Halle’s and other “African American’s.” I guess you shouldn’t be surprised though, since I am half African American. You should expect it, right? What about the caucasian part of me though? Does that leave you conflicted? White women can love, and respect black women to and vice versa. Surprise…times ARE changing, with and/or without you.
Sorry to the other people on the site, if it may seem I am blowing this out of proportion. But I have dealt with people that say things like this a lot, and it might seem like they aren’t trying to be rude or “they didn’t mean it like that,” but trust me, they do.
I am a very passionate person, and when RACE is brought into any subject, especially when it is uncalled for and completely unnecessary, I am going to fight my point until the end. I would do the same for any race who was disrespected and put in a dim light. That is just the type of person I am and what I stand for.

Actually, I’m not at all a hater. I never said that she looked awful or ugly. Why is it always automatically assumed that someone is jealous or a “hater” if they have a divergent opinion? I’ve never understood that…

I think she looks fabulous, and she’s obviously in great shape, as everyone has said (especially for having a baby only a year or so ago- although this is the Hollywood crowd, and that sort of transformation is expected). I look up to her as a beauty role model because I am biracial as well.
However…
I do understand what you’re saying, Lisa. I was raised with the idea that women of different ages should maintain certain standards of modesty and cover a certain amount of skin (ex: little girls should wear age-appropriate swim suits- not bikinis- same for women who are grandmothers). While Berry certainly “pulls it off” in this dress, I think a bit more fabric would be beneficial…no matter who’s wearing it.

I think she is really starting to puff up. The pictures, especially that terrible dress, show that her tush and legs are really getting thick… look at the woman on her left… three of her could fit in one Halle… she has a lovely smile, she is trying to stay toned, I like her arms, back and fingers, and she does great work, but as a beauty…. no ….those days are going and it isn’t fair to even judge her in that way anymore. Sorry but I think the cut is also really bad,…. too short, looks all messed up, and is very unfeminine.
I agree that she has puffed up…but I still think she looks good at this weight. She still looks toned, fit and healthy. I agree with the hair completly!! She looked better with longer hair. I hate this haircut! She has an amazing face though, very beautiful features!
She is such a natural beauty with such incredible features… Lovely face. The dress may not be for a 40 years old, but it looks good on her. And she is not trashy because of her attitude and her whole look. Two different women, wearing the same dress are not necesirraly “saying” the same thing. There are women who can wear almost anything and still look a bit trashy or vulgar. Because it’s also in the face, makeup, hair, attitude, body language; and you can tell that even from a picture. Halle is simply not the case.

As for the debate on her dressing appropriately for her age… I honestly don’t know many 20-year-olds who would wear a dress like that. Most I have known would be wearing something more like the girl in Twilight with the Spiderman dress and Allstar converses. If not, they would definitely have opted for something ‘sexier’ by showing more cleavage and/or having a more figure-hugging dress. A third group want to go for a more dignified look, but usually end up looking too old or even a bit frumpy. Not many know how to be sexy and still have some class and elegance. I still believe that is something that comes with experience.
I also have to say that I think it is rather prudish for anyone to think this outfit screams ‘slut’. I don’t see cleavage threatening to spill out, midriff, skin-tight fabric or a hemline threatening to reveal her knickers if she so much as slightly tilts her body forwards. She also forgot the other characteristics that typically go with a more revealing outfit: bleached hair, tonnes of make-up, fake eyelashes, fake nails, spray-on tan and clear platform stripper heels.
IMO age has nothing to do with it. If she looked older than she is then she could be called trashy and ugly. But she does looks younger than her age and she’s gorgeous so she can wear what she wants
Good point, though it is my opinion that she still would not look trashy if she were older. Only her back and legs are showing, after all. It wouldn’t give me the impression that she is still trying to flaunt something that went long ago!

I think the reason her body is so rocking is her very healthy diet. As a diabetic, she has to closely monitor her blood sugar levels, translating to a high-fiber, low-sugar diet for life.

Lisa has a great point! It looks not so natural. Of course the makeup, and hollywood upkeep – should help in the flawless IMAGE. The stunt with jaime was BORING and rather vulgar. But it is hollywood, so it all fits. The legs are short, her legs are short. She is a bit boring…. like to see a new “NATURAL GIRL”, more authentic. Sadly, her acting is rather horrible, no matter what film. The haircut is okay — nothing WOW. Can we have a new face please? better actress!!! That does not have a CRAZY eyes, she looks as if somehow she screams for “attention”. Thus the stunt!

since everyone seems to be taking part to this “dress your age or not” conversation, i might as well. i think women should dress their age, but that doesn’t necessarily mean adding fabric when older. it’s more of a style issue. like wearing teen clothes at 40. again some might think all can wear whatever they want, i just think it sometimes looks ridicule. i don’t like the 40 year old corporate wife look on the 20 somethings either, just to say a few exemples. and i don’t agree with saying if u manage to look younger than u’r age it’s ok, women who look their age can be gorgeous, and if u can only wear a revealing dress at 40 when u look 20, well that means basically u CAN only use it when u’re 20, i mean if people won’t know u’re 40 anyway. I think Halle looks stunning, and I agree that cutting her hair short again was a great idea. I have always thought that she was beautiful, and here is a clear example. To me, she is one of those women who looks better with age, not worse like many others.
Who cares how old she is, age ain’t nothing but a number. The dress looks good on her, sexy yet classy. It’s hardly offensive for a good shape 40 year old woman to show a little thigh or bare back.

Why don’t you google her and see how many pics there are of her with her baby, wearing NO make up and still looking beautiful. You are jealous and so critical it is sad. I pity you. Isn’t the best thing for you. Halle berry is definitely one of the few class acts in Hollywood. Your comments about her are crazy. I’m so sick of people hating on people who most likely have it better than they do. Jealous and envy are two ugly traits to have. You should take a deep look within and ask yourself what makes you say such hateful, ugly things about other people.
