“I just started about a week ago at SoulCycle and I’m addicted to it,” she tells Us about her newfound fitness obsession. “It’s a great workout and it’s perfect because it’s only forty-five minutes — where else can you sweat like that in forty-five minutes?” Still, Duff admits she’s not going to extremes to slim down.
“I’m not stressing about it. I’m working out because I honestly missed it during my pregnancy –- getting in that good, hard workout. I need endorphins in my life to be a happy person. I want my body back but I’m not freaked out or anything — just working out and trying to eat a little bit healthier.”
“I try not to think about foods that are too fattening or too sugary. I always think about why it’s important to eat the best foods. By not obsessing over the bad, I tend to stick with the good.”
On working out:
“I love working my butt off to prove I can do something new. If I don’t keep looking for challenges, life gets sort of dull.”
On playing tennis with husband Andy Roddick:
“He tried to give me a lesson once, and I ended up hitting all of the tennis balls over the fence and smashing my racket because I was so frustrated. I told him, ‘You don’t teach me how to play tennis, and I won’t teach you how to model in a bathing suit. And so far, it’s worked. Being married to Andy has given me a new appreciation for my body. He’s taught me that it’s not how thin you are that matters. It’s how your body performs, how it endures wear and tear.’
On exercising with her dog, Billie Jean:
“We essentially end up running wind sprints back and forth. And the best part of our routine is that she doesn’t snap at me when I start to slow down.”
29 year-old Carrie Underwood is the covergirl of Self Magazine this month, where she opens up about her current diet and workout regimen:
“I love eating and talking about food. I’ve been a vegetarian for seven years. But after seeing a friend who looked amazing and had recently gone vegan, I thought, What’s holding me back? Now I’m 95 percent vegan. Sometimes you’re at a birthday party and there’s cake and…you know, you can’t resist. My veganism is based on a concern about where my food is coming from. In my perfect world, I’d have webcams wherever food is processed so I’d know how clean it is. I’ll never eat meat again, because I look and feel better without it, but if I could raise my own cows and chickens and produce my own eggs and cheese, it would be awesome! The food would taste better, because the animals would be happy.”
“I’ve been pretty consistent with exercise for the past several years. Growing up, I was semi-sporty but didn’t really do much. If I’d kept on that path, it wouldn’t have ended well! I’m from the South, where there’s a lot of fried food, and that’s bound to show.”
At request, here are ‘almond butter makes me fat‘ Erin and Candice Swanepoel in a new set of shots and a commercial for VS’s new collection Sexy Sport, where they show off their thin and fit figures in tight sportswear.
A few days ago, we ran a story that said that Rihanna’s father Ronald called his daughter fat and that’s the reason why the edgy singer went on a diet. Rihanna does look slimmer, but it’s with a price:
“I’m working on getting my butt back. It used to be my favorite body part, but now it’s disappeared! I’m eating everything. I’ve been eating ice cream and fast food and Italian food.”
“I’m going to have to start hiking or at least going on the elliptical or walking on an incremental treadmill or horseback riding. Something that firms the butt.”
