November 19, 2011 in Celebrity Quotes, Sarah Michelle Gellar by Versus

34 year-old actress Sarah Michelle Gellar brings our weight-related quote of the day:
On not living life on a scale:
“You can’t live your life by the scale. We don’t even have one in our house. I’ve never believed in them, because your weight fluctuates. It’s more about how my clothing fits than a number. Besides, if you deny yourself everything because you’re so focused on the mirror or the scale, then when do you get to enjoy life?”
… says Sarah in Self Magazine.

Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara loves talking about her famous curves – here she is today with a few interesting quotes on her enviable figure:
‘When I moved to America I was more voluptuous and I felt a little different. And one time years ago, I remember my publicist [at the time] told me: “I think you should just reduce your boobs because nobody’s going to take you seriously here. My mother almost had a heart attack. She was like: “God is going to punish you! You can’t cut your boobs!” I don’t regret not doing it, because now it’s become a big part of Gloria.’
‘In Latin America we do learn to be more comfortable with our bodies. Women are not shy to be in a bathing suit, in a G-string. But I also did a TV commercial for Pepsi when I was 17 on the beach in a bathing suit. ‘And after that, everybody was like: “Oh my God, that body”. And you know, you start to feel a little bit more confident if you have people thinking that you’re so fabulous!’
… says Sofia in Health Magazine.

Even the slim celebrities are bombed with attacks that target their weight when they dare to put on 5 pounds – Miley Cyrus is the latest celeb to join this club, as she was recently labeled with ‘fat’ comments on Twitter. What did she respond? Let’s see the full story from Daily Mail:
Miley Cyrus is proud of her body and she wants the world to know it. The 18-year-old pop star is fighting back after coming under criticism for adding some much-needed curves to her slender frame. She took to her Twitter page late last week to talk about self love and the dangers of hating your shape after some critics sneered that she had lost control of her body.
‘By calling girls like me fat, this is what you’re doing to other people. I love MYSELF & If you could say the same you wouldn’t be sitting on your computer trying to hurt others.’
The former Hannah Montana star then proceeded to post a photograph of a woman so emaciated that her ribs were clearly visible. She also posted a photograph of curvaceous blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe (see below) with the caption:
‘Proof that you can be adored by thousands of men even when your thighs touch. ‘I don’t wanna be shaped like a girl. I LOVE being shaped like a WOMAN & trust me ladies your man won’t mind either

“I’m much more of a British girl than a Los Angeles girl. I’m not full of s**t enough to be an LA girl. But I have started hanging out with women more.
“I still find it tough to be around girls because I always say the wrong thing. If a friend asks me if I look fat in something, I’ll be honest and say, ‘Yeah’ when she does.”
… says Kelly.
Well, that explains why she’s been calling Christina Aguilera fat a lot recently.
