May 1, 2012 in Celebrity Quotes, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Osbourne by Versus

A while back, Kelly Osbourne called Christina Aguilera ‘fat’. Well, Christina has been losing weight lately and today, Kelly is back with a much kinder remark – the story from Radar:
From foe to friend? After years of publically feuding with Christina Aguilera, Kelly Osbourne is calling a truce – sort of! During a Plead the Fifth segment on Watch What Happens Live, the Fashion Police host was forced to say three nice things about her rival – and she did.
“You and my girl Christina Aguilera have been in something of a feud,” host Andy Cohen quipped. “Say three nice things about Christina Aguilera.”
“I think she’s looking way better right now, she’s got a great voice and she’s got a beautiful son,” Kelly responded with a straight face.

April 27, 2012 in Beyonce, Celebrity Quotes, Hollywood Moms by Versus

Beyonce, who was recently named ‘World’s Most Beautiful Woman’ by People Magazine opens up about how her new mom status affected her style and body – from Daily Mail:
On high heels versus flats: ‘I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable, and shorter heels too. [Jay-Z] loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising – he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural – just he relaxed, natural me.’
On cutting her own hair: ‘I recently cut two inches myself – I just parted it in the middle and chh-chh-chh!’
On breastfeeding and her body: Beyoncé also revealed how breast-feeding her little one for ten weeks helped her lose ‘the bulk’ of her pregnancy weight, but that she’s now on a strict-protein based diet. She now works out three times a week for 90 minutes, doing a combination of running, dancing and crunches. ‘I’m definitely softer, but I feel my body bouncing back,’ she says.

April 17, 2012 in Beauty & Body Image, Celebrity Quotes, Lady Gaga by Versus

A while ago, Lady Gaga revealed to the press that she struggled with bulimia in the past – and this week, ‘weight’ was the topic of one of the superstar’s tweets that did not go unnoticed. Details from Daily Mail:
A Twitter post from Lady Gaga about her diet and exercise regime has sparked a backlash from fans and eating disorder campaign groups. In a message to her nearly 23million followers the 26-year-old wrote: ‘Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay’
The likely innocent joke backfired, though, with The National Eating Disorder Association responding with a tweet that read: ‘Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?’ The organisation was referring to the fact that, in February, Gaga publicly urged young women to cultivate a healthy body image, admitting that she had been bulimic in high school, and had been obsessed with being a ‘skinny little ballerina.’
While some of the singer’s fans defended the tweet, perceiving it as a sarcastic remark seasoned with irony, the majority of responses were negative. Many believe that eating disorders should never be joked about, although some fans are applauding the transparency of her comment, saying it raises awareness of the constant struggle in popular culture for women to convey a perfect body image.

April 13, 2012 in Celebrity Quotes, Kelly Osbourne by Versus

Kelly Osbourne is featured in Glamour Magazine this month, where she opens up about feeling confident, insecurities and weight:
‘No we are not all Gisele Bundchen; we’re not all Beyoncé. But I can tell you even the most beautiful girls in the world have felt insecure. And just seeing the pressure my friends Kim Kardashian and Kate Moss are under makes me never want to even be the prettiest woman in the room. There is no such thing as perfection. Sometimes it’s other people’s voices you have to shut out. That’s what happened with me and Christina Aguilera, which people don’t understand.’
‘She called me fat for years. One night on Fashion Police I said, F*** you. Now you’re fat too.’ I didn’t say I wasn’t fat. I said, ‘Now you know how it feels’” And I’m sorry, but I stand by that. ‘Even now I don’t consider myself skinny. But I have put a lot of hard work into my body over the years, and in the process, I’ve really learned to love myself.’

April 2, 2012 in Celebrity Quotes, Rihanna by Versus

Rihanna, who lost weight recently, told the press that like most women, she has ‘fat days’ occasionally:
“I mean I don’t think anybody really is confident 100 per cent. I mean you get comfortable with the fact that that’s your body and that is what it is – that I had to learn. (Some days) I’m like, ‘OK, whatever, I feel fat today,’ but what can you really do about it? You have to just accept your body. You may not love it all the way, but you just have to be comfortable with it, comfortable with knowing that that’s your body. You just want something else that someone else has, but that doesn’t mean what you have isn’t beautiful, because people always want what you have, and you always want what they have – no one is ever 100 per cent like, ‘Yes, I’m the bomb dot com – from head to toe!’ “
… says Rihanna in an interview on UK TV show ‘Daybreak’.
