On Losing Weight Again: “[When I was pregnant] with Honor, I didn’t make the healthiest choices when it came to eating. All of a sudden, I had gained over [30 kilos]. I stopped weighing myself after that. With Haven I didn’t gain as much, so [afterward] I was closer to where I felt comfortable in my own skin.” She also works out with a personal trainer three times a week, often alongside Cash. “It’s fun and another way we get to spend time together.”
… says Jessica in InStyle Magazine.
30 kg? That is 66 lbs – did she look that much heavier?

‘You go through a period in your pregnancy of feeling fat. But I’ve been exercising and eating what I want in moderation.
‘I have the same insecurities about my body that every girl has. I got pretty skinny when I was between 17 and 19.
‘I regret it because I don’t think I was happy then.’

On Her Early Modelling Days: “All I kept hearing was ‘Honey, you gotta change this; your hair’s this; your legs are that; you’re not enough this; you’re not enough that; you’re too much this; why are you wearing that?’ And so it was a constant stream of judgement.”
On Being a Weirdo: “I was always the girl who would turn up to fashion shows in trainers, flares, a shearling jacket and braids in my hair. I look back and I was really cute, but all the other girls were slick, groomed and elegant, while I’d be backstage drinking a can of beer. It’s a great British thing, but that kind of thing doesn’t go down well in America.”

Australian bikini model Lara Bingle is the latest entry in the ‘Models Who Are Labelled ‘Fat” club. The reason? 24 year-old Lara recently put on 6 kg / 13 pounds. Here’s how she defends herself against critics:
You can never win. It is unfortunate that I’m their topic of being fat this week; maybe in a few weeks I will be too thin. I’ve never been that thin thin girl, I have curves, boobs and an arse, that’s my job, I’m a swimwear model. I don’t not eat. I love my food.
I have put on weight. So I’m not going to lie and say I haven’t. But I’m really happy right now and I’m working and that’s what I love. I like having boobs and a bum: I don’t want to look like a bony boy with no hips.
If I’m fat, how does that make a girl who is a size 12-14 feel, and that’s the size of an average Australian woman? It’s ridiculous.
… says Lara.

On her troubled relationship with food (she has dealt in the past with anorexia and bulimia):
‘Fat can be a way to protect ourselves and survive, a way to control something in a world where everything feels out of control, and a way to stave off profound fear of feeling our feelings. I often find anxiety, fear, boredom, disappointment, loneliness, excitement and grief to be the top feelings food can attempt to prevent.’
… says Alanis.
