Drew Barrymore is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar this month, even though she doesn’t really resemble the real girl below:

The real Drew doesn’t have a 22” waist or model-long legs either:

Moving on, Drew shares some thoughts in the magazine:
On exercise and body image: Drew’s “two or three hours of exercise” a week is paying off. “But,” she cautions, “there is some lighting where I absolutely resemble Shamu. People have to know that you pick the best pictures where the lighting is beautiful and the angles are right and the body positions are gorgeous. And then, guess what, you turn, sit, hit the wrong light, and your belly flaps over and we all look human again.” Drew won’t be giving Jillian Michaels a run for her money anytime soon, though. “I can apply myself at my job 20 hours a day, seven days a week. But I can’t apply myself to my body more than a couple hours a week. I have no passion for fanaticism. The psychology when you just forgive yourself and enjoy what nature gave you is so liberating.”
On losing her “baby fat”: Even though she’s in sweats, Drew looks pretty dreamy. She is lightly tanned from a solo trip to India, and her bone structure has popped. “I feel like some of my baby fat is going away,” she observes, “and that’s not just physically, it’s psychologically. I think that your body is in tune with your mind and your spirituality and your heart. If things are going better, I just think you look better.”

September 16, 2010 in Gabourey Sidibe, Photoshop Job by Versus

Let’s see what The Telegraph has to say:
The 27-year-old is one of four celebrities to appear on four separate covers for its 25th anniversary issue. In the image Sidibe’s skin appears to be several shades lighter than her normal colour.
The magazine said the four celebrities – Sidibé, actresses Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried, and Lauren Conrad, the reality star – were chosen as examples of young women who were “changing the world”.
ELLE has also been criticised because each of the other three cover girls are shown in full length photographs while Sidibe’s image is cropped at chest level. In a statement the magazine said that “nothing out of the ordinary” had been done to the photograph.
“We have four separate covers this month and Gabby’s cover was not retouched any more or less than the others” it read. “We had 25 cover-worthy subjects in our portfolio and we chose Gabby because of who she is. We shot this as a story of exuberant young women changing the world. If you take a look at the portfolio, each of the women were shot in different ways and for different reasons.”
What do you guys think? Is it just the exposure of the picture or did they purposely lighten Gabourey’s skin? Elle Magazine surely is the champion of Photoshop!

September 11, 2010 in Amanda Seyfried, Gabourey Sidibe, Lauren Conrad by Versus

Yesterday we took a look at Megan’s Elle cover, where she looked glamorous and polished, both in a shiny dress and in feminine lingerie. Elle decided to follow the Multiple Celebrities, Multiple Covers magazine trend (Check out Love Magazine’s cover collection HERE!) and celebrated their 25 year anniversary by placing four 20-something celebrities on the cover: Gabourey Sidibe, Amanda Seyfried and Lauren Conrad (plus Megan).

What do you think of the covers?

Law & Order’s Mariska Hargitay (46) is on the cover of Good Housekeeping this month, where she looks positively skinny and bobble-headed in an orange bandage dress. And what’s on the left? The actual Mariska, filming her show in July 2010.
What happened is that Mariska’s head was basically enormified on the cover – in the above comparison, I made sure that her head was the same size in both pictures for an accurate observation; but check the rest of her figure! Her hips start higher in the photoshopped image, her waist insanely smaller and so is the rest of her. And of course, the neck is obligatorily line-free (though that’s virtually impossible in that position).
See more recent pictures of Mariska on the next page – she certainly looks nothing like the fake picture on the right!
