24 year-old English model Lily Cole recently opened up about being bullied in the past because of her haircolor:
‘I was of the type who gets bullied rather than the one who does the bullying, which I’m glad about. I’d rather be that than a bully. Red hair is an issue, particularly in this country.’
‘Teachers often let it happen because there isn’t a stigma around it in the way there is, quite rightly, about something like racism. Racism has a huge stigma attached to it and therefore it isn’t played out so carelessly. Any form of bullying should be stamped on because children are so fragile and it affects them. It’s horrible. The names I was called – carrot-top, ginger, all the usual ones – sound quite trivial.
‘Now I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. But it’s not so much the words; it’s the meanness behind saying such things to a child. I remember feeling very insecure. When I’d meet people, I would think they wouldn’t like me – that was an actual thought process – because I’m a redhead. It’s absolutely absurd! The irony is that now I love my hair.
‘Years ago, an older man with red hair, said to me: “All redheads go on the same journey. You’ll hate it when you’re younger and then when you are older you’ll start dyeing it because you’ll really want it back…” And I think there is that trajectory. It’s a wicked colour to be.’
… says Lily.

April 27, 2012 in Beyonce, Celebrity Quotes, Hollywood Moms by Versus

Beyonce, who was recently named ‘World’s Most Beautiful Woman’ by People Magazine opens up about how her new mom status affected her style and body – from Daily Mail:
On high heels versus flats: ‘I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable, and shorter heels too. [Jay-Z] loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising – he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural – just he relaxed, natural me.’
On cutting her own hair: ‘I recently cut two inches myself – I just parted it in the middle and chh-chh-chh!’
On breastfeeding and her body: Beyoncé also revealed how breast-feeding her little one for ten weeks helped her lose ‘the bulk’ of her pregnancy weight, but that she’s now on a strict-protein based diet. She now works out three times a week for 90 minutes, doing a combination of running, dancing and crunches. ‘I’m definitely softer, but I feel my body bouncing back,’ she says.
