35 year-old actress Kate Winslet is the face and the body of St. John, and she recently had a few thoughts to share about the brand, their clothes and why her ‘real’ figure is representing them.

‘With St. John You can look extremely chic without trying too hard.

‘You don’t feel as though they are clothes that only a model would be able to wear.

‘And obviously I am not a model, I don’t have a model’s body, I have a real shape.
‘And that just means a lot to me to be able to wear clothes that do embody that message of strength and power and femininity in a real shape.’

Jessica Simpson was just named ‘Style Icon of the Year’ by Us Weekly, partly because of her successful clothing line and partly due to her personal style. Here’s what Jessica tells us about how to dress her body shape:

High-waisted jeans are a risk for me – I’m short! They don’t work unless I’m wearing major platforms and something flattering up top, but not a high collar. If I don’t show my collarbone, I skew uni-boob. We have some high-waisted jeans coming out that I might try. But it does make me sweat, I have to say! My curves are a challenge. I have to be more conscious of what I’m wearing so I don’t look like a complete tool.

Huge star Hayley Hasselhof was sent to a ‘fat camp’ on her show and in reality, she is the image of plus-size clothing company Style369, a brand that is destined to those who wear sizes between 14-26 UK.

Here’s what 19 year-old Hayley says about her modelling job:

‘I’m so glad teenagers can look up to young girls and realize it’s okay to be voluptuous. I love the idea of embracing your curves and loving yourself while expressing it through fashion.’

What happened to you when you first got into this business? I ended up getting really sick. I became obsessed with losing weight. I was thin but it was never thin enough and I just wasn’t enjoying it. I was being told I was too big by people who didn’t even care about me. I wasn’t happy so my parents sort of said, “That’s it.”

Are you happy with your figure now? I’m very happy with my size right now. There’s pressure to get bigger [as a plus size model], but I’m just going to be who I am.

Do you think that ‘plus-size model’ is the right term to describe Amanda?
