Nicole Richie is InStyle and quite photoshopped at the same time. Granted, Nicole’s jet black hair, thick and shiny bangs and make-up contribute to the ‘Oh, look how different Nicole looks!’-effect, but so do the elongating and the skin whitening / luminosity via Photoshop.

the skin whitening is the most annoying part of photoshop for me. to me. frankly it is blatant racism that we still find acceptable in all of our media and magazines.
as a beautiful exotic mix of white, black creole and mexican nicole richie’s naturally olive skin should not be whitened, but celebrated.
besides, it looks better than this fake whiteness.

tbh its not whitened that much shes pretty pale lately and you can tell the flash is really bright cause in spots on her shoulders and cheeks are darker.
Agreed, although not that much with this post since I think Nicole is pretty pale as it is. But with alot of people they do, like Beyonce being one of the biggest and most ridiculous example.
As for this post, just another photoshop disaster.
I really don’t like the styling of the shoot, and the flattened fringe look doesn’t look good on her at all. Disappointing really…
I like the dramatic makeup, great for an editorial and the lacy clothes are a little reminder of her boho california look back when rachel zoe was her stylist. I wasn’t ever a big fan of her style back then but I like the outfit in the first photo a lot.
she looks great. I love her body post baby. thin yet healthy.but ITA on the skin white part. She is perfect the way she is.

Um, yuck?! What have they done to her? She looks lifeless and dead behind the eyes, she looks way better IRL. On the cover pic her head looks like it has been stuck on someone else’s body it looks really bizarre, like her head doesnt match the angle of the torso and her neck is not in the middle of her shoulders like it should be. Gross.
The second picture would have been my favorite had she lowered her chin.
I kinda liked the first two pictures but on the cover she looks horrible! Which is not her fault I guess.

It’s weird becuase normally Nicole always looks cute in my oppinion…I like her hair dark better than blonde since it looks more natural, but not the jet black. Also I don’t understand the skin lightening? It looks bizarre! She has such beautiful carmel like skin, it seems like such a shame….body wise she looks good though!
I really like black hair on Nichole and love the makeup but why they didn`t let her natural olive skin colour?? They make everyone look almost the same,always pale. And everyone knows that Nichole doesn`t have those tall legs

The modeling industry pretty much just has their way with you. They don’t care. It’s so sad to see this. I hate the whiteness all over. It’s annoying!
she looks like a deer in headlights on the cover :/ and i love her skin color! it’s pointless to bleach it.
I really like Nicole’s skin color, I hate that it’s been changed so much. What’s wrong with her normal skin? Is darker not OK for magazines? It seems everyone’s made to be tall and pale these days.
I do really like her makeup and hairstyle, but not the color.
And did they lighten her eye color? On the cover it seems really light, I don’t think her eyes are that light brown. Or are they?

I luv nicole but I like her hair better brown or blonde w long side swept bangs. Ewwwww,this hairstyle is not a good look for her. Blunt bangs usually look terrible on most people imo unless you have a high forehead, they just cut off the face at eyebrow level, why people, why cut your bangs this way, how strange? I do like the boots and dress in the 2nd pic, like the 3rd pic too. These pics are so photoshopped but its the world we live in now, and sometimes it looks cool to see people warped for a particular shoot thats meant to be extreme or fantasy like.
what I don t like is that she has the same facial expression in every single pic.I wonder if she is supposed to do that or if it is just the normal”she s a so-called-celebrity so she can actually pose as bad as she will,the issue will be bought because everyone excepts some news or scandals”
Lindsay and Paris should take a lesson from Nicole. Nicole has turned out to be a wonderful and responsible mother. Keep it going Nicole!
i don’t like the photoshoot but she looks healthy^^happy to see her looking like that!
She looks cute….nice pics. And i’m not sure how naturally dark her skin use to be, she did frequent tanning beds alot….i’m sure that contributed to her darker complexion. Random pics of her in gossip magazines lately, show her looking lighter.

i really don’t like her. her face was always very awkward and unnatractive to me and her behavior before she went all “angel-mommy” was ridiculous. i just find her so trashy

I don’t know about skin lightening, they look like they stuck her under the highest intensity lights they could get. No wonder she looks like a deer in headlights.
I was so distracted by how strange and mannequin like that makes her that I didn’t realise how interesting the clothes were and that I liked the layering until I had scrolled so far down I could only see the bottom of the penultimate picture.
It’s one of those fashion ‘looks’ that while dramatic – maybe – don’t exactly accentuate the clothes or the person wearing them. Frankly, she looks odd but not in a good way. I suspect the bangs – they only look halfway decent in the last two.
so, they make dark people turn lighter, and pale people turn orange.

She’s a gorgeous girl, but in the third and last image her face is too photoshopped! She looks better without the computer work!
