Mischa Barton plays a model in the new drama The Beautiful Life… sounds great, but wait – Star Magazine cliaims that the producers asked her to lose weight for the role.
Here are details:
“She knows that means they are calling her fat behind her back. She knows she is heavier than she needs to be but to hear it like that… it really shook her. How can Mischa play a model when she’s looking so heavy?
“She’s broken down in tears more than once before shooting. It’s a lot of pressure for someone who is just out of hospital.”
“She’s always been able to lose weight fast. Everyone knows she’s been struggling, so people are just really rooting for her.”
What do you think? Could be true or is it pure tabloid gossip?

I think that there are other pretty celebs who fit for the role more than mischa, I mean she looks odd with make up. I dunno is it just me that think she hasnt got a nice face with make up or what? And yeah she used to be slimmer before, she needs to lose weight for the “model” role.
i think it’s a matter of taste. i do not find this girl’s face appealing in the slightest (something about her smile is too wide; it reminds me of a jack-o-lantern) but guys LOVE her.
yeh, i am not too fond of her either. but i don’t think she needs to loose any weight.

She’s good at fitting a model. Have you seen that Enrique Iglesias video? Gosh, she was tiny! She used to model back then, I think… Anyway, she’s an actress. If a role demands some weight loss, you should do it, it’s your job, so I think she’s gonna make it. We’ve seen many celebs gaining or loosing weight for a role, so it’s pretty normal. She’s not fat, but to fit a model, she should lose some, even if she doesn’t need that in real life…
i agree completely. she gets paid for acting out a certain role and if that role requires to lose weight, she should either go along or find herself another occupation.
yeahh that their job, normal jobs are sooo demanding why wouldn’t they have demanding jobs, if you don’t like it don’t act the role… it would be the same like Duff. the network asked her to lose some weight and maybe she doesn’t need it in real life like Barton but they characters do need it, they get to cash thousands of dollars and they don’t even do their jobs the way is needed to be….

She just needs to be happy and a normal weight and not be judged by everyone and be forced to lose or gain weight.

i reckon it’s true – i mean there have been loads of candids of her in gym gear recently and before she always used to claim that she hated working out and didnt need to do it. I guess now she needs to do it
actually i think the tabloid might be true. one of her co-stars, the one that was formally in high school musical, said that the producers but them all on a model’s diet and that they could eat cheese, i think it was cheese. It was on tmz a couple days ago.

The pressure to lose weight may cause her to use drugs again (if she ever stopped) since that is an easy way to lose weight.

She only needs to work out more because she is quite thin but not toned. So it’s not necessary to lose weight.
Agree with those who say her make is terrible. She has a pretty face and they cover its beauty with lots of make up.
ok if thats fat, then i am morbidly obese.i think she should take off some time for herself and “find” herself”;all that dieting and ballooning in weight isn’t healthy and must be doing a number on her mentally.

she’s apple shaped, or appears to be, very round in the middle, she’s got those awful legs from the knees down. Too bad, she has a sweet face.
I think her skin looks gorgeous in this photo ( if it hasn’t been photoshopped) and also she has done modelling and looked great! She had a sexy figure and I happen to think that her new figure is still great she has nice arms and a nice chest and she is a pear so her legs will never be her best feature (not that they won’t be bad, just not her best)

She’s gained weight. I saw part of the pilot months ago and she looked model thin.. just right for the role. She’s definitely gained weigh since then.
I think she’s cute and her body looks healthy. But she should gain back her self-esteem.
I think its gossip. They hired her for the role because they like her looks, otherwise they woud take someone else. All the actors have to go through a period of healthy diet and exercise before a movie, this doesnt mean they are fat.
Oh for god’s sake this is ridiculous. Mischa is gorgeous and doesn’t need to lose a pound! I love her figure, it’s feminine but still slim. People need to leave her alone. She looks great.
I would say this could be true………….. I dont think she’s fat at all, she’s just naturally pear shaped, but if she’s playing a model, lets be honest she’s “heavier” than any model that walks down a catwalk…….I’d go so far as to say she looks double the size of a catwalk model.
I think mischa’s natural size is her when she’s “thicker”, altho again I don’t think she’s fat. She certainly needs help with her self esteem.
Without sounding mean also, she looks so different to how she looked in the OC. I’m not sure how many years ago the OC was, but she was uber skinny and very pretty in that prog.
I can only imagine how bad this yo yo weight gain/ drastic loss is on her body.
I hope she learns to be happy with who she is.
This will be tough for her, because but a few months ago every site like this was accusing her being anorexic and “Gaunt”. Just think what would happen if she actually lost a few pounds?
Poor girl, she really can’t do anything to make anyone happy. If she did go on a healthy diet she would certainly be criticized as she was “anorexic” and “gaunt” without even losing any weight.
She does have a pretty face when she was photographed without makeup.
I know, the poor girl is too skinny and now she’s too fat. I’m one of those people who thinks she’s one of the most beautiful women alive but I don’t think she should have this lifestyle where she is in a position where she has to lose weight for her job. I think its really unhealthy for her and she should stay out of the public light while she straightens herself up

Thats sick to say she needs to gain weight. She’s already thin enough, like really thin. Oh my, whats wrong with people? Why do models need to be stick thin? Its nasty. I dont understand why people think stick thin is beautiful and you have to be like anorexic to be a model. Also, I dont understand why you have to be super tall? There are many body types that are beautiful, and I just dont understand the need to be grossly thin to be a model. Sick people out there.
