The Sun: Megan Fox Was Fired from ‘Transformers’ for Being Too Skinny

MEGAN FOX quit movie blockbuster Transformers 3 after a blazing row with superstar director MICHAEL BAY over her vanishing weight, The Sun can reveal.
Fox’s fragile frame concerned the director and his team on the set as they prepared to shoot the third installment of the movie franchise that made her a star. Bay, 45, thought the 24-year-old looked “unhealthy” and wanted her to put on weight if she wanted to resume her role as Mikaela Banes in the third film.
A source on the movie revealed yesterday: “Megan stormed out after a huge row with Michael Bay. He thinks she has lost too much weight and looks too frail. He wanted her to put on some weight and it all kicked off. The crew don’t think she looks well, let alone the wholesome, curvy star they cast in the first film. She’s going for this gaunt, pale image and it just looks unhealthy.”
This is not the first time Fox – who regularly tops world’s sexiest woman polls – has found herself at the centre of the size zero row. She has been criticised for revealing she guzzles down neat vinegar as a quick fix to shed pounds. She has also previously told how she fell into depression after her weight plummeted.
She said last year: “I turned into a zombie. I lost like 30 pounds. I was telling myself I was method acting, which was not true. I ended up getting sick and my hair started falling out.”
And just this week she told a magazine: “I’ll starve to death before I’ll cook for myself. I think I could survive a week without eating.”
And to complete the article which may or may not be (partially) true… Megan (who IS looking thinner these days) also said this before:
“Mike doesn’t like really skinny actresses. He’s been traumatized by them for some reason in the past. So I always try to put on eight to ten pounds before, and I’m always the fattest I’ve ever been when making a Transformers movie. Anyway, my weight fluctuates constantly — I don’t really take good care of myself. I just sort of exist and survive.”

From the quotes, and the vibe i get off of her, i could believe she “sort of exists and survives”, in the sense that she doesn’t think about what she eats that much, and sometimes eats healthy, other times junkfood and occasionally too little. The part about her turning into a zombie, wasn’t that around Jennifer’s body? Anyway if it was, i don’t think she looked that skinny in it (godawful movie just btw). But maybe she’s meant to be a bit meatier. As for the Transformers, she’s far from gaunt and frail looking imo, maybe it’s all those less-than-flattering comments she’s made about the films and Bay himself.

I don’t have a problem with what the director is saying. I would’ve had one if he said she’s too fat. As for how she looks in movies, it’s true that the camera ads pounds. I know a really skinny girl who did a video and she looked a size bigger in the video (really good in my opinion).

i’m totally with you on the tan not being healthy. i hate when people associate being tanned with being healthy – its bad for your skin! being outside and being active is good for you, and so is wearing sunscreen! a little sunkissed glow (like bar refeli or gisele) could be mistaken for healthy, i suppose, as it looks like they were just running outside or something. but the way she looked looks sleazy, fake, cheap, and UNhealthy. besides, she looks ssssoooo beautiful pale. it goes so nicely with her black hair and blue eyes. she is far more beautiful pale, in my opinion.
but i can’t say i agree with you on her weight – i do think she looks frail. she doesn’t look like a skeleton, but just not strong enough to be the heroine in an action movie. she has a nice build (curvy, even if she is thin) but awful implants. i, personally, prefer her at transformer weight….but regardless of if i like it, i think action movie actresses usually look like jessica beil or halle berry, body wise.
i think she ends up so thin for one of a few reasons – she may just be spacey and flakey enough to not bother eating right. she seems like that type to be so lazy as to skip meals (she said she’d rather starve than cook) she may also be being a brat a protesting michael bay wanting her stronger looking, since she butts heads with him on everything. i doubt the whole thing is really about her weight; its just another opportunity for her to try to upstage him (which i am tired of – he is more successful than her, he knows what he is doing!). or i wonder if she does get really uptight about her weight – she seems desperately insecure, and controlling her weight may be a method of coping (not saying eating disorder, but sort of trying out different weights, like hair colors, to see what looks best or something). its either a total accident or extremely intentional, i bet.

Actually, being tan is healthy.
Different skin tones need different amounts of sun exposure. Northern Europeans, (which most Americans decent from), don’t need that much, and a lot of sun will damage them. But darker skin tones, like Mediterraneans for example, can and need lots of sun.
Skin cancer is a problem. But this whole, protect yourself from the sun 24/7 and wear sunscreen all the time is equally stupid. You’d be surprised how prominent Vitamin D deficiency is.
So some amount of sun on your skin is good. Any dermo will tell you that. There’s no need to fear sunlight, just as there is no need to fry yourself. Go outside.If you tan in the process, good for you. If not, then rock the pale.
You get Vitamin D just by staying out in the sun, not by tanning, so protect yourself with high SPF is not stupid. Besides, we only need about 30 min a day of sun exposure to get our vitamins.
You need to wear SPF at all times, because the smallest sun burn can develop in skin cancer. If doesn’t happen in all cases, it doesn’t mean you’re safe.
Casey, stop talking out of your arse in case someone may be naive enough to believe you. Darker skins naturally have more natural protection from harmful rays but no-one ‘needs’ direct sun. The vitimins you refer to can be and are obtained from natural daylight, not direct sun. Experts say that skin needs protection in direct sunlight of some degree.
Ems, how many people do you know have gotten skin cancer from being in direct sunlight 30 minutes a day?
Aside from people who are genetically predisposed to skin cancer (runs in their families), sunlight is not something to fear. People who have lighter skin tone should use protection and shouldn’t try to tan by burning their skin. People with darker skin tones and who easily tan can go without protection.
I’ve lived in the Mediterrenean. Everyone there is in direct sunlight for hours every day. I’ve never heard of anyone developing skin cancer.
Please, break free from the news specials and talk shows geared to induce public panic, and speak to a dermo. And don’t insult me, I have a right to an opinion that may differ from your own.

transformers is an action movie. she looked way healthier in the first one. i agree with the director she doesn’t look like someone to cast in an action flick.
I don’t think she looks too” skinny” but with her waist so small any lost weight makes a huge difference on her frame, as if she was extremely corseted. stars like her and Amanda Seyfried always reveal too much or exgerate their diet claims; they say shocking things for the sake of saying shocking things.

while there are people who just went for the story or robots, the day that transformers came out half of my friends said (specially guys) they are going to see “two hours of megan fox sexiness”. it was like the new name for the movie. and a week ago i was in movies and in previews jonah hex movie came up and every time they moved the camera to megan fox all the men in the theater clapped and screamed like monkeys with rabbies.. so yes, there will be a lot of people going to see that movie just for her.

I saw “Jennifers Body” with my friends the other day on dvd(because we saw too many posters of it and thought that it might be good) and we didn’t like it at all(BTW, I couldn’t eat for the next couple of days because of canivalism and their acting skills werent good,although usually i kinda like Amanda…) and even the boys said it wasn’t good and if they knew they wouldn’t have seen it. The guys said they don’t want to see a bad movie because a pretty girl plays in it. And the same people love transformers(I really don’t know why to be honest, but anyway…)!!!
Yeah, She turned down a part blockbuster franchise that made her famous because now all of a sudden she has standards. These kids kill me. Probably got on her knees and begged to be a part of this film now I’m a thespian and this is beneath me. What a load. From what I heard she was getting fired for being a mouthy bratt! Last year she bashed the director and the crew wrote a nasty public letter bashing her for being the meanest and most ungrateful person on set and went onb about how it takes forever to make her look good and cover all her tattoos! I’m thinking this was released by Megan’s publicist. She is not and has not ever been too skinny, but she sure likes to pretend she is. I remember her saying she was 95lbs or something in Jennifer’s body! I’m 5’6″ and 102lbs naturally and I looked way, way skinnier then she did in that movie. Now she’s saying she lost 30lbs…psh yeah right. She maybe lost 5-10 if that and nobody cares!

I find the assumption that pale = unhealthy quite hilarious. To me the fair skin is what makes Megan beautiful- when she has the tan and the micro clothes she just has a cheap appeal. And it’s not as if Michael likes a little tan- he likes his women to look radio-active! Isabelle Lucas is a breathtakingly stunning women who has a real natural and earthy beauty to her- but in transformers two they made her orange with caked on makeup and she looked HIDEOUS! Yes, she went for a small implant which is smart, and I believe in giving credit when it is due but…megans are fake. If she had a C cup naturally, there’s no way her breasts would be that flat in the first photo with out a bra. I just can’t believe she has some people fooled…

I’m really not surprised by this… its obvious to me she has some weight issues. She looks way skinnier than she did in the first Transformers movie, I’m surprised no one else seems to notice. Actors gain and lose weight for roles all of the time it seems a little silly that she would just give up the role over gaining a few pounds. I’m interested in seeing how the story will go now.

Megan is not too thin, she’s hot. Whether she takes care of herself or not, whether it’s natural or not, doesn’t matter. I have NEVER thought of her as skinny, let alone scary skinny. She’s slim.
That being said, if he wants to fire her because she doesn’t fit his definition of the character, he has every right to. Although he really should be taking his skinny girls issue to a therapist. Being dumped by a skinny girl doesn’t mean you should hate.
