why is it that celebrities always straighten their hair when their popularity surges? it drives me nuts. .. it sends such a negative message to those of us who have naturally curly hair and don’t have the means to straighten it every day.
Really! The girl straigtens her hair and thats a negative message. Shes 19…girls in general love to experiment with their hair. Maybe you need to look at yourself and be comfortable.

shes been big for a while now, & shes had that same hairstyle for 2 years, i think the change was a good thing. plus it flatters her face

She still looks pretty but she looks so much older and not mature, older and her natural curly waves made her stand out. Now she looks a lot more common.

I agree w/ Amy, she does look like everyone else, but i still prefer this to the previous, i don’t think she looked all that “special” with the curls either. She’s just a beautiful but quite regular looking girl, not everyone needs to look so different, she’s still unique in spirit

Imo, i like her curly hair more, mainly because her hair is naturally curly and it will probably very damaging for her to straighten her hair 24/7 to keep this look up. I still think the bangs are a cute look though, and i can see why she want a change.

2 ways you can tell: you can’t see her scalp (that weird center “part” point up there on top) and, despite the fact that her hair is flatter/straighter, the crown of her head is higher up…i.e. there’s a wig on top of her head. see how her head looks bigger with straight hair? yeah, makes no sense…bc it’s a wig.
So? Who cares if it’s a wig. People wear wigs.

It’s kind of a big deal when this whole post is based on the idea that she has REALLY changed her hair.

It’s not this huge change as everyone is acting that is. She straightened her hair. Or bought a straight wig, whatever. It’s not as if she pulled a Rihanna and shaved her head or dyed her hair blue or became some 60 year-old man named Todd overnight.
It’s not as big of a change as everyone is making it out to be.
Some people are acting as if they’ve never straightened or curled their own hair.

i said that just because there are 70 other people on this board(judging by the comments) who think it’s her real hair and are mostly complaining about it..
I agree Juliette. I’ve noticed one person in particular has commented that “it’s a wig” about four or five times in different comments on here. Apparently it is a “big deal” to some people here…
I also agree with juliette and megan. There are several comments here going “it’s a wig! it’s a wig!”
I don’t get what the deal is either. It’s not as if she’s the first or last person to wear a wig.Even if it werent a wig, I dont see her hairstyle as anything to get in a frenzy about either. I was surprised at the comments here. Her hair (or wig…) is the exact same color and length it was before. So she didn’t spend fifteen minutes curling it that day. And?
I would like to point out something that nobody has acknowledged, she changed her hair for a photoshoot initially.

I don’t know – she looks gorgeous but she doesn’t look like herself. I like the style, it’s edgy and sexy. But at the same time, she seems to look more girl next door who could be hot if she tried – rather than really cute and pretty, which she was with the old hair. I don’t think it’s a bad look on her, I quite like it, but I’m not sure it suits her. I know that makes no sense, I’m massively failing at explaining stuff today!
omg i like it she looks so much more mature. her image with curly hair makes her very innocent and natural but with straight hair she looks to mature and edgy. i like it both ways.

I hate it how people are saying that straight hair makes her look “sophisticated and grown up”. Uhh.. hello? So people with curly hair are unsophisticated and immature? ehh.. I think she looks great with both. It’s fun to switch it up, but don’t be putting stereotypes on straight hair vs curly hair people.

With straight hair she looks less annoying.
Her look with the wavy hair was very unique, and I think she loses it with the straight hair. Still beautiful but she looks a lot more generic and less interesting. It does make her look more mature, though.

It looks very refined and sophisticated. I also like that she got rid of the black eyeliner as it cheapened her look and made her eyes look smaller.

I don’t think she toned down the eyeliner specifically, I think she just doesn’t have fake lashes on. The first picture is her at an event where she would be all done up, the other is her shopping – so she’s not wearing fake lashes and eyeshadow and such.
I think she has a pig look to her either way.

I don’t get what all the hooplah is about over straight hair. i could understand if it were a more drastic change but this isn’t a drastic change. i feel bad for taylor, she can’t blink without everyone having an opinion. she straightens her hair and everyone jumps all over it. that must suck.

I don’t know if it’s a wig or not but it sure does look different (not necessarily in a bad way). Taylor is really pretty in my opinion, and I love her curls. The straight hair makes her look almost unrecognizable. She looks so much more mature, and less… Taylor Swift-y. She has a pretty face, and is it just me or does anyone else think her eyebrows (their color, more specifically) look different? She looks good any way, but not as cute as the Taylor we all know and love. But personally, I prefer the curls, because they stood out.
