Leighton Meester looks slim and leggy in lots of pale pink ruffles and lace in Spanish Cosmopolitan Magazine this month – and she brings a non-related, but interesting quote with her:
“My mother Connie inspires me. She’s an amazing woman. When I was a kid I wanted to be an actress and she completely backed me. She is her own person, very eccentric, very individual.”
“I was a bit of a goofball. I wanted to be a counselor, help people, but then I discovered this other side to people. I was easy to pick on because of my acting. I realized that there are a lot of people out there who just aren’t very nice. I stopped going to school – I was a bit rebellious and just didn’t go. My mother was fine about it.”

I think i understand what she means, because i used to feel the same way. Here’s my hypothesis: When she was young she dreamed about doing good around her and to help people when she would grow up. She acted in sort of a naive way but then people made fun of her because that’s what happens when you don’t try to act like someone clever all the time, even if you are indeed, because usually in playgrounds and even until high school, mean = clever and all nice and stuff = dumb). Moreover, i guess she was already a beautiful girl and maybe she started acting pretty young, and jealousy can make people very mean. So she realised that people didn’t deserve all the good she could have done for them.
I also may have got it all wrong but i’m not even a native speaker, at least i tried!

i agree with Mizzy. Is like a lot of young stars are giving “Megan Fox type of quotes” saying things stupid or without any sense. Like Stewart with that rape comment about the paparazzi.
You have to remember that the above are blurbs taken out of an article featuring the entire interview, and the entire interview isn’t everything that was stated between the celebrity and the interviewer. That’s why it seems random and nonsensical.
