Lady Gaga received a makeover this month for the cover and the inside of Vanity Fair Magazine – here she is with long and sleek silver locks, pretty much zero clothes, loads of lashes and some shiny bling.

in my opinion she´s definitely NOT sexy… it doesn´t matter what she wears or which hair colour she has got – she´s crazy and a good entertainer but neither pretty nor sexy. i´m sorry to say but i don´t find her attractive at all!!!

Agreed! When a person or phenomena is all about sex and the hard dirty stuff, it almost seems possible that her core message is anything but. Sometimes the ease at which Gaga throws sex (thematically) around causes me to view Gaga (The performer) as an asexual being (disclaimer: I am not denying her sexuality, just the sense of sexuality in her body of work)
That said, there are sensual elements in the aesthetic of her work not directly related to sex/sexual imagery. So yes, for that, she can be sexy.
I hope I made sense. :s I am aware that alot of those statements read as oxymoronic. What I said in the earlier post…was just me trying to articulate this intuition I had about Gaga.

I think that lady gaga is sexy (sometimes, when she wants to be), but I don’t think she is pretty. Sexy and pretty are two different things, you can be pretty without being sexy, and you can be sexy without being pretty.
Anyhoo, I like the silver hair, its an interesting idea, I really don’t understand the logic behind the third picture though, I think its a poor photo.

She is an icon, she doesn’t intend to be sexy, she wants to be remembered for her art (yes, to me she’s an art performer).
I’d rather have a thousand totally crazy performer lady gaga than one cute and nice Rachel Bilson in the cover two posts below (who intended to be sexy, but failed).
I luv lady gaga…she is a breath of fresh air in the bubble gum pop world…she has made pop interesting again, its not just about looking good, its about true talent, being an individual(which means not looking cookie cutter perfect!)and making a mark in history itself. Her artistic ideas, fashion, and not so perfect looks have already made her more of an icon then most of these pretty women that cannot even sing all that well. Look at Brit S. her whole career was based on her looks and now that she’s less then perfect, shes not nearly as successful. Lady Gaga will last beyond her looks, which are pretty imo, she is beautiful in her own avant-garde way.
WAIT, Britney fans are , in most part, gay men and straight girls,I dont think that her career was based on looks. Britney appeal has always been the fact that she is a normal girl with a naughty -not so secret- side. Also, Britney always had terrible fashion sense and she wasnt the most beautiful singer either (mandy moore and jessica simpson were prettier). I guess her career is based on her personality and performer skills.
LG made a nose job and lost weight since becoming famous, I guess she does care very much about her looks. I cant imagine the day she will have the courage to go out with messy hair and no make-up.
I’m not against LG,but I just don’t get whats new about her,her music is the same eletropop, her fashion sense is the same korean and japanese pop/rock artists have been wearing for several years and what her opinions on “important issues” are very much common sense.

I like that GaGa doesn’t conform to those standards; it takes a lot to not just be happy with yourself and how you look but to be successful and wear your individuality so well! (and I’m not talking about her weird outfits, I’m talking about her face and body)
For me, the cover is so-so not bad but not great, however I love the second shot! Her tattoo is gorgeous (I don’t like all her tattoos but this one is really nice). She has a good body and while I agree with some people here that she isn’t beautiful I wouldn’t go so far as to say she isn’t pretty or that she’s ugly as some of the posters have.

Geez… I listen to Lady G but I also listen to Disturbed and other heavy metal bands. I even listen to concert piano. I didn’t like her until I heard her music. She’s a performing artist, not a blow-up doll; let her copy Madonna if she wants (for the record, I never thought Madonna was much to look at)– I’d rather have an actual artist entertain me rather than someone who can’t sing and only became famous because she was “cute” when she was 13.

I like the shoot. It’s something diffrent to all the romantic cutish spreads most celebrities do. I don’t find her conventionally beautiful either but there certainly is something about her that seems interesting and it’s not just her clothing but more her presence and the way she carries herself.

Did you ever realize she might’ve lost weight because …she’s been touring for what..2 almost 2.5 years straight now? Two albums? How many over the top music videos?..And she loves it, she’s dancing her ass off, and is seen leaving gyms usually.
I’m so over her. I like her hair that way and I do quite like her music but I was never into about her whole ‘thing’, with the crazy costumes and all that. I don’t find her face particularly attractive either. She should stick to making pop music.

Every artist will be influenced by some other, it’s just impossible not to! I hope to become a classical singer and, while I’m on my way, I have absorbed the pieces of several different composers myself, and that’s how it is.
Of course, there is a point where it becomes disrespectful, but then it’s a matter of opinion and, personally, I don’t think Gaga has come to this point. But there is no need to offend those who think different, please!
