Kimberley Walsh Cries While Shopping for Jeans
June 16, 2010 in Celebrity Quotes, Kimberley Walsh by Versus

Girls Aloud star and proud owner of a curvy pear-shaped figure Kimberley Walsh confessed that shopping for jeans is a real struggle:
‘I’ve been known to shed a few tears at times [when buying jeans] it’s quite distressing!’
‘You think if your usual don’t fit you then you think ‘that’s no good – I’ve obviously put on weight’ but it’s not necessarily, it might just be the wrong cut.‘I just end up in the changing rooms with twenty pairs of jeans on the floor feeling thoroughly depressed.’
Can you relate to what Kimberley is saying? Or is shopping for jeans an effortless, fun treat for you?

i agree to her
can u say DRAMA QUEEEN!!
i mean a pair of jeans that dont fit is no reason to get all upset..try another one….i have nooo bootie and sometimes they make me look soo flat..is frustratin but not that much!
goosh woman theeree waay more important issues in life–!
Not finding a pair of jeans that fit is not a reason to be upset, but it’s definitely FRUSTRATING! I have hips too, and it’s a challenge sometimes to find jeans that look good on me.
Perhaps you’re extremely thin and don’t understand the upset and stress not finding a pair of jeans that looks good can cause a person.
I’m not heavy – a size 6 or 8 (US.) But what that means is that I have to choose my clothing very carefully. A different cut of jeans can make the difference between nice looking legs and tree trunks. And when you try pair and pair on that make you look absolutely horrible you then become so miserable and frustrated that you may cry. It doesn’t necessarily have to do with being a drama queen but the frustration that you talk about, except perhaps a little worse because your flat butt fits into societies standards.
I remember my best friend once told me that she was upset about having to order jeans on line – they didn’t carry her 00 size in stores. But how many times in her life has she tried on jeans and become so upset because they didn’t look good on her? I would rather have her problem than mine any day.
i can totally relate, as the owner of very thick legs and a smaller upper body I know how hard it is to find good fitting jeans, but I don’t think I have ever cried about it! in the grand scheme of things looking good in jeans is not that essential to my self concept.
i so agree with her !! i’m also a pear-shaped girl, and even though i like my curves, sometimes it seems there’s nothing i can try and this is quite depressing because as kimberley says, you think maybe you’re fatter than you thought.
I agree, too!!!! I’m pear shaped, so while I have always been quite satisfied with my upper body, I’ve always hated my legs. +, I have noticed that in most changing rooms the lights are set up in such a way to show all the flaws of the skin (eg. cellulite). I’ve cried a couple of times while shopping for jeans, but I guess I’ve kind of got used to that… The thing that pissed me off the most is when I went to Wrangler, they told me that they don’t sell so big sizes, and it’s not like I’m very fat, I’m a EU 40-42 (being 174cm tall) and I’m still in the healthy range…
Anyways, Kimberly looks great in here, she has finally found the perfect jeans. I didn’t believe that she is pear shaped, I had to google her to make sure of that
Wow, I feel for you Claudia! That’s ridiculous.. “we don’t sell such big sizes”? who are they trying to kid? I’m sure there are MORE women/girls who fit a size 40-42 than a size 32-34, which sadly shops are full of these days.. I have a hard time finding my own size (38) most times, amongst all the teeny tiny ones. Pfff.
& I get depressed when shopping for jeans too
, it’s like all jeans are made for people with straight-up-and-down legs, without taking into account the fact that that usually isn’t the case…
Of course I can, as pear shaped girl myself! It is hard to find something that will fit my thighs properly and my waist at the same time. Usually, if I can get the jean past my thighs, the waist is way too big! I found good fitting jeans in UK, but in my home country it is just depressing…. they leg width they make is just for thin and lean girls. Sometimes I feel I’m punished for being curvy!
exactly what i thought
I don’t think jeans in the shops are for the thin girls…
Just V-shaped or ruler ones.
For example my upper body is 36 size and my lower body is… Well that’s probabaly 36, but usually when I put on 36 sized jeans it’s like they are too big in my waist area, and extremely tight in the hip area. It looks kinda funny.
That is, it looks funny, when I manage to put them through my hips area
But solution to this problem is buying jeans from Korean’s in the Market. They fit perfectly
Fickle, I couldn’t agree more. I mean, i have exactly the same problem – being hourglass/pear shaped, it’s extremely hard to find jeans that look good in my hips area, without being too big in the rest of the body.
And I understand Kimberly, though people think being curvy is great because it looks feminine, sometimes it can be really hard to keep your self confidence when everything around you seems to be made for skinny ruler shapes
oh god, i can understand her sooooo well. i`ve never cried, but i have felt so superdepressed. at times like these, it sucks being a pear-shaped gal.
ZOMG YES. Always. Shopping for jeans have always left me cringing. As the not-so-proud owner of a pear-shaped body, I’ve always admired the teeny girls in my country who can slip into skinny jeans and look fantastic …
im a ruleer i wish i could be a pear shape!
i look soo flat and i wish i had more waist definition!
and gaining weigth does nothin just my stomach look bigger!
pear shapes are the ones that gain weight more proportionally at least for me!
dont hate u pear shape bodies!!
WE ARE THE SAME.
thanx kimberley for speaking out this truth of the non-size-zero-girls, (who are despite of that also slim!)
Yes. I am always AMAZED at the number of pairs of jeans my friends own, and how they all seem to suit them really well – the cut, the length, it all looks so effortless! Jean shopping is a once-yearly thing for me and always depresses me in advance. I am 5 foot 7, my legs are very slim but my hips are wide and I have a bit of a tummy… which doesn’t strike me as a particularly strange or challenging body-shape for designers, yet sometimes I try on 10 different pairs of jeans and feel like a freak of nature! Sometimes the jeans are too tight AND too long – so what kind of glamazons were they intended for??
I know! It’s like my legs are a foot too short and 5″ too thick! I always think “who in the @*#(@# is wearing these jeans???”
ha ha i am the same!
I think almost all hourglass and pear shape women have come across this problem on a regular basis.
The reason being, clothes these days are made more to fit the most common body shape which is typically the more rectangle or apple figure.
My girlfriend has exactly the same problem… She’s a size 6-8 and sometimes, she doesn’t even fit a 10… So she panics and thinks she’s becoming fat… But when we come back home, she runs in our bedroom and try on her old pair of jeans… She always fit in them…So ladies, you have to keep in mind that sizes may be different from one store to another… And even though you’ve gained a size, you still look good! And most of the men won’t even notice it… Only you, girls, will!
And, it may be out of subject here, but I know it may seem weird that a man comes here so often to talk about celebs bodies and so on… But I’m not like the other men. I love it! Even more than my girlfriend…. She often tells me that I am more girlie than here… I’ve seen Titanic 37 times… And since I am a stay-at-home dad for a few months… I come here once in a while to get my news… I really love your website, Versus!! Good job!
Don’t see it as weird at all. Labelling certain pasttimes as feminine/masculine is freaking restrictive and presumptive. People aren’t pegs, they don’t fit into premeasured outlines.
I’m a woman and I enjoy fashion talk. I also enjoy reading military strategy books.I hate romantic movies. Should I feel weird about it? Don’t think sooooo…..
Nice to know we’ve got men on board too! Thank you and I’m glad you enjoy the site
!
that;s so cute
I used to have such a problem with fitting into jeans. I used to wear skirts all the time until I lost 20lbs. Now I can walk around in my jeans with confidence. Feels great.
What does losing weight have to do with anything. If you have a 10-12″ difference between your waist and hips and most jeans are made to fit an 8″ difference there is always going to be an issue whether you are a size xs or a size xl.
Because someimes losing a couple of pounds can change the shape of your body so it’s easier to find clothes that are flattering.
I was a healthy weight 15 pounds ago, but before, I was like Kimberly, I almost cried when trying on clothes. Apart from skin tight skinnies, all other jeans styles made me look like a square. Being pear shaped didn’t help either.
15 pounds minus, and I can wear almost anything, since it’s still obvious I have a nice body. Also, My pearness was also very much reduced, and now I’m slim/hourglassy/more proportional
Well for me I tend to loose more from the bust and waist than my hips…probably because my pelvic structure is just naturally wide so the thinner I get the more of a waist/hip ratio and the hard it is to find pants that fit equally well on my waist and hips.
1. Kimberly doesn’t need to lose weight
2. You obviously don’t understand the problem here: it’s about finding jeans that fit properly top to bottom. Pear shapes have a problem finding jeans that fit a the top part.
i totally agree. i am a pear too (actually, more like a skittle..not wide hips but a big a** (: ). i used to have a hard time finding jeans but after i lost 6-7 pounds and toned a bit, my body got more in proportion and now everything fits me perfectly. i love shopping for jeans
good job
That’s exactly my point, if losing weight changes your body shape, you are NOT a pear shape. The problem with us is having, along with muscular thighs, wide hips. Usually jeans that get past our thighs and hips are huuuuuuuuuge at the waist.
If you’re already slim and you lose some more vanity pounds your shape DOES change. Because you stop losing pounds from the areas you’re most likely to (going from, ex: MEDIUM pear -> SMALL pear), and just start losing everywhere since there’s not much fat left (SMALL pear -> slim all around, deceptively hourglass shaped).
So yes, I AM naturally a pear. Before I was a size 38/US 6-8/waist 28-29 and my natural waist was 26 and my bust was 34. Now I’m a pants size 34-36/US 2-4/waist 26-27 and my natural waist is 24-25 inches, bust 34. Didn’t have much to lose on my chest/waist, so even those hard-to-lose thighs had to go.
Sorry, suzushi, I have nothing against you, don’t get me wrong. It’s just that your bones don’t shrink with weight loss, they remain the same. If you have wide hips, you’ll always have wide hips, unless you use a chainsaw, he he…
Besides, as I’ve said, pear shapes have muscular thighs (at any size); losing extra weight to make them look slim/-mer, may mean losing muscle mass, which is not the healthiest thing. Besides, to lose muscle mass just to fit in jeans… no thank you! Never!
Well, that depends on the person. I have a pear-shaped body, I exercise regularly and my bmi is 18.6, but I still have problems finding jeans that fit me properly.
Losing any weight would put me in the underweight category and I really doubt that it would change my shape.
That’s exactly my point, if losing weight changes your body shape, you are NOT a pear shape. The problem with us is having, along with muscular thighs, wide hips. Usually jeans that get past our thighs and hips are huuuuuuuuuge at the waist.
Exactly! If you are a true pear shape with wide pelvis and narrow ribcage, this becomes increasingly more evident with weight loss.
“If you’re already slim and you lose some more vanity pounds your shape DOES change. Because you stop losing pounds from the areas you’re most likely to (going from, ex: MEDIUM pear -> SMALL pear), and just start losing everywhere since there’s not much fat left (SMALL pear -> slim all around, deceptively hourglass shaped).
Well perhaps that applies to you but not everyone is the same. Losing weight causes my chest to flatten, my waist to shrink and my hips do not get narrower…rather more prominent.
I will NEVER be hourglass shaped through weight loss (or gain), the only thing that would make me an hourglass would be breast implants!
She is the fatter one of the group and seeing her say this makes sense. I hope she enjoys her body, them hips are big lol
I think she’s brave to talk about it because it might sound very superficial and immature to cry about this for people who never experimented fitting room blues.
Otherwise, i think fitting room mirrors are very cruel in general because i’m 5 foot 5 and a size 25 in jeans (which is XS or S i’m not sure) and i always feel huge in these. I read an article once in Elle where they stated than we always see ourselves as bigger than we actually are. It’s a fact so keep it in mind ladies
LOL, I’m the exact opposite. My mental image of myself is bigger then what the mirror reflects. Whenever I check myself out in a mirror I do a double take, since I don’t recognise myself as being so slim (I’m a size 26). But that suits me just fine, it means I always surprise myself on how good I look
.
You’re slightly taller and smaller then me, are you sure you don’t suffer from a bit of body dismorphia?
Pfff I am hourglass and skinny and I can find fitting pair of jeans once per year max…after I get to feel miserable for not being short and flat as a board. But I could swear (I am 35 years old) I remember jeans cuts that could fit curvier woman when I was younger…
ive got some hips and really skinny legs so sometimes jean that fit my hips look big on my legs and if they fit my legs i can barely breath!
yep i understamd. they are always tight around my thighs and loose around my waist or if they are low, then loose around my back. i have muscular thighs and a sway back.
i want the jeans she’s wearing on the left. i’m also a pear. it really sucks buying clothes in general for instance, i was trying to buy this dress that was fitted in the waist, and they had to special-order an extra small for me and the waist was still to big. but then, when photographed in that same dress next to my leggier friends, my legs just looked chunky and shapeless. hate it.
I’m tall (almost 5’11) and slender about (140) and I love jeans but can never find them!! I have the right body type and they look fine until you look down and I can see my ankles in almost every pair. At least if there is too much fabric you can hem them, I wish all jeans were just a couple inches longer! It gets so frustrating.
OMG,I have the same problem while I’m sorter than you(I’m almost 5’9″) but I have long legs! And the jeans look fine on me but then you can see my ankles and it looks funny!
*shorter
i feel your pain! i hate having to mail order all my jeans (i’m 5’10″). and some that claim they are long arn’t long enough! i wish all the time that i could just go into a store buy a pair of jeans and walk out, instead of making it such a big hassle.
6’0 feet try lucky jeans and if your into shopping online try alloy.com,americaneagleoutfiiter.com,thegap.com the Victoria’s secret pink line who sell jeans online along with many others. The trick to anyone above 5’8 and above when getting jeans is you have to check the inseam (length wise) it should be anywhere from 34-36 inches if your add about your jeans being long
According to the customer reviews I’ve read on the Old Navy website, their “tall” sizes are long enough for women over 5’11″ — I can’t give a personal recommendation, as I’m 5’0″ myself, though I can say their “dreamer” style is great if you’ve got a small waist, big booty, and big thighs.
I don’t mean to sound like an advertisement. Honestly, I find most of their clothes to be of poor quality and unflattering, but their jeans are great. Lots of different styles and lengths to suit lots of different body types.
It’s funny. I spent so much time trying on overpriced designer jeans and paying for tailoring and my best fitting pair of jeans I got at ON for less than than twenty bucks.
Almost all the women I know, of all shapes and sizes, have had trouble with jeans for one reason or another. It fits their legs, but won’t go over their hips, or it fits their hips and is baggy on their legs. They always have a gap at the back because they’ve got a big bum, or they always look like they’ve crapped themselves because they have a small bum. Jeans are always too long, or too short. The pockets are not big enough and make their bum look huge, or the pockets are too big and make their bum look flat and saggy. So many problems… I wish clothing were catered to different body types as well as sizes, but it would take so much thought, time and money, I doubt it would ever happen.
I know!!! I have the small butt problem!! I have a good hourglass going from the front, but from the side it’s pathetic!! lol instead of this glorious booty I have a forgettable bump and it’s genetic because I’ve tried exercises and daily lunges, and although it firms it, it does NOT increase in size. Have learned to accept it as it is!! lol….. But buying jeans is such a pain.
Honestly, I hope she’s exaggerating to be funny or amusing. I understand frustration with not being able to find nice jeans. Maybe not along her lines, but I too have to try on multiple pairs of jeans for a good fit.
I think that’s true for everybody and not characteristically of pear shapes. I bet even Alessandra Ambrosio has to try on a few pairs of jeans to find ones that fit her nicely, don’t make her legs non-existant, and don’t look baggy on her.
The reason why I hope she’s joking is that it’s not worth crying over. Seriously, if you cry over the fact that you have to try on multiple jeans, I can’t imagine what you would be like when confronted with life’s real problems.
It’s so true!
No really — I do a lot of my shopping on the VS website, and you can totally tell from the pictures that some of the pants Alessandra models don’t fit her quite right. The crotch will be hanging too low. Most likely the pants fit her hips, but were too big around her waist, so she had to tug them down to make them look like they fit (I’ve done this myself to avoid the dreaded “gap in the back,” so I can recognize when another woman does the same thing).
i can definitely relate! i’ve cried while shopping for jeans more than once. i just end up feeling so unattractive and hating my body. ugh.
Good to hear a fellow pear shape views on this.
Kimberley has got an amazing shape.
I hate jean shopping too.
I’m a tall woman with all my height in my legs…my tighs are muscular thick and I have a amble butt.
I actually find jeans that fit well. I guess because I am a ruler? I pretty much go straight up and down. Idk but it’s not so hard for me it seems.
Jeans just aren’t made to fit pear shapes it seems, I’ve just given up even trying any on now, if they fit my hips they’re always waaaaay to baggy at the waist…so glad I’m clearly not alone!
What? Don’t give up!
Try bootcut, dark wash, low-mid rise jeans….works for me ; )
Bootcut is awesome
I usually go for a lower waist to make sure they will fit properly. Besides, it seems they are making bootcut jeans nowadays more for curvy girls.
Curvy ladies… Try Frankie B.
Regardless of the problems related to jeans shopping, those pictures of Kimberley show that skinny jeans and leggings are hard to pull off for pear-shaped girls. Doesn’t she look a million times better and more slender on the far left?! The bellbottoms balance her figure and elongate her legs.
As a stylist I work with women and men of different body types. For my curvy girls, there are certain brands and style I always run to. My mother is a pear shape, and I got her the not your daughter jeans that fit her so well.Pear shape girls should stick to dark wash jeans or black, as they will draw less attention to your leg area. Stay away from jeans with designs, rips, or back pockets with buttons. Jeans that slightly flare out at the bottom, will balance you out, 7 for all mankind make a good pair, I think the name of them are called ginger. If you want to op for a skinny jean, gap 1969 collection makes a really good skinny jean for curvy girls( which surprises many of my clients). Lastly women always hate me for suggesting this but maternity jeans are a good option bc they are usually high waisted with a band at the top which will suck u in (kind of like the brand not your daughter jeans. Hope this help. And let me tell you as a guy, I have problem finding jeans too not just a women thing!
I second the skinny jean recommendation. I’ve tried on a lot of different skinny jeans, and Gap skinny jeans are the only ones that didn’t leave me with a gap in the back of the waist.
Being an inverted triangle (or V shape), I`m sort of the opposite of a pear; thus I`ve never had a problem finding jeans that fit right. I still completely understand your frustration, because for me it`s the opposite: it`s hard to find clothes that make my upper body look good. I`ve always wanted a small waist, and while it`s slight enough when I keep my weight down, I have to dress in a spesific way in order for it to show.
So all you pear shapes who have cried over how hard it is to find jeans: at least you should appreciate the fact that you don`t gain weight in your stomach area, and that you have a very feminine body. I envy you that! And perhaps you don`t need to wear jeans if they`re that hard to find? I usually avoid clothes that don`t look good with my body shape;)
Damn, I can relate! I’m a size 7, 5’4, long legs. The few times a year I attempt to buy jeans, I try to get the stretchiest possible. It might be one of the best ways to control love handles.
okay well i’m an apple and even though jeans will fit around the waist for me they’ll be too baggy around the thighs/butt area (i get that saggy bottom look :S) or they won’t fit around the waist but be perfect around the thighs and bum area. i hate jeans. i barely wear them. hahaha.
I too have been there, done that
It depends of my size though. (I’ve fluctuated some through the years unfortunately..) At size 38-40 (EU) my shape is, without going to details, not that easy to find pants for, and i’ve really had to choose a good day to go shopping bc i’ve needed a string mind for the horror that i’ve found jeans shopping to be (and the mirrors!). Below that size, 34-36, i hardly have any problems. Just as long as i find the right length, i can find a pair i love in a very short time. I think Kimberley looks awesome in all those jeans, but with all the photoshoppig in ads, it’s hard to know if they really look that good on her body.
*strong mind
*at size 34-36
Firstly, this girl is super hot. I am a big fan of nice pears. I love them having tiny waists and super curvy bums. Just so yummy. The second it is true, the modern clothing is made for all straight up and down girls, if you have boobs and butt, be ready to kill many hours shopping for anything besides baggy stuff.
I soooo get her! When i was heavier i owned like ona pair of jeans, At much! it was so depressing to buy them and those stores’ mirrors… daammmmn now that i’m pretty thin and jeans fit just right I still hate those mirrors!!
Wow, it’s hard to believe a celebrity can identify with someone like me. I feel like so many celebrities have the perfect body shape (perfect for me being not pear-shaped). I’d much rather have a bigger upper body than lower body so then I could wear cute skinny jeans like people like Kristin Cavallari do. Skinny jeans look ridiculous on me. I’m about 110 lbs and 5’7 and I doubt anyone thinks that’s heavy or even average, but I have the hardest time finding jeans that fit me. My ankles and calves are small but my thighs/butt/hips are big. I can only really wear bootcut jeans.
I hate finding jeans! Here’s my problem: I have wide hips and the flattest butt in the world. That’s right, just leg. So when something fits my butt I can’t zip them up because its not wide enough for my hips, when the pants fit my hips than there’s empty saggy material in the back. I’ve learned that stretchy pants work much better for me.
YES Wonderwoman that’s my problem! Wide hips + flat butt! Can you tell me where you shop for jeans (I live in the UK) ?
I’ve never cried about it, but sometimes after shopping for jeans I do feel miserable.
Tell me about it. I don’t only have thighs but a big bum too. Last time I was shopping for jeans I ended up pretty frustrated. The bigger size of jeans fitted my thighs but were lose on my tummy while the smaller size got stuck on my thighs and wouldn’t go up. I wanted to scream!
I can SO relate to her. I actually cried TODAY while trying on some jeans.
I am a 6 feet tall hourglass shaped woman…I’ve always been extremely athletic, I work out every day and since about a year ago, I used to be anorexic. I’ve pretty much overcome this and put on quite a bit of weight, mostly muscle weight. I feel slim and strong on any normal day, but trying on jeans is always a battle for me. It’s so depressing and difficult not to start starving again. I sometimes feel like I’m the only woman who doesn’t have skinny legs.
You are definitely not the only woman who doesn’t have skinny legs.
I love my muscular legs. Yeah, it might be hard to find pants that look good, but my well defined calves look fabulous filling out a pair of knee high boots.

I reassure myself with the knowledge that if I had skinny calves, I’d never be able to wear boots like those. I think of the clothes I *can* wear because of my shape, instead of the clothes I can’t.
Thanks for your nice comment, it cheered me up.
im an apple and wear sizes 2-4, 3-5, in bottoms, and even with slim legs have hard time finding a good pair. i thnk the key is to find a brand that fits you. some brands cater to specific body types, or are roomier in specific places. i need extra fabric at the waist since im an apple. i do get on verge of tears trying to find a bra or a bikini top. being skinny with enormous boobs now thats a bitch
lol. I can relate and I’m pretty thin. It rarely has anything to do with weight and more to do with the fact that there is no standardized sizing anymore. just got a pair of jeans yesterday and it was the same scene: you start pulling them on, get them up to a certain point and stop. Then wonder if you’ve gained weight. Try another make, and then you feel thinner because they’re falling off you!
I can’t relate that well because I’m not a pear shape, but what I find frustrating is that jeans (especially designer jeans, with the exception of J Brands) are usually too long. Even size 24 has an inseam of 34″-36″. I’m by no means short (5’5″-5’6″) and have a 32″ inseam, but I don’t understand who could possibly be a size 00 and have Gisele-like legs. That would have to be like 0.001% of the population, yet that seems to be who designers are making their jeans for. And even if Kimberley may seem melodramatic, I can understand things from her point of view – clothes can be really personal, and not fitting into anything can sometimes be offputting.
tell me about it…….i go shopping & my friends tag along & ‘they’ end up wit clothes (jeans) while i’m frustrated. It’s either too big at the waist, too tight at the thighs or does the funny thing in the crotch…….i always pay 2ce for my jeans, 1st time in the store, 2nd at the tailor…….many times i’v to compromise on a cut/colour/design simply becos i was lucky enough to find a pair that fit……makes me want to stick to dress (cos i’v got issues wit skirts too)
GOOD GOD. MY WORDS EXACTLY!!!!!
Okay, I’m going to set the stage for you guys. Thick thighs, flattish butt. Average hips. Slim calves. AND I’m 5’2! I’m not even sure what my effing body type is! I love myself anyway. Because I’m more than a group of parts! Pear shaped girls and all other shapes! Be glad for what you have. You’re beautiful:)
Me too! I can’t figure out what body type I am – I seem to be a mixture of vase/inverted triangle/ruler and I can’t figure out which one! I have the waist definition of a vase, the broader shoulders than hips of an inverted triangle, yet the smaller bust and skinny legs of a ruler!
She doesn’t look like too much of a pear-just a but soft all over
http://img.skinnyvscurvy.com/2009/06/girls-alouds-kimberley-walsh-in-a-bikini.jpg
I think she’s a true pear.
Elizabeth check the pictures where she’s wearing a bathing suit. You can see how small her waist is compare to her thighs. She’s definitely pear shape.
I’m hourglass and have trouble with jeans too. I have a really small waist but chunky thighs and a long torso. These days with jeans I look at the cut and wonder where on earth your butt is supposed to go! I hate that ‘builder bum’/visible thong look that some people seem to think is sexy. For me I have to get jeans with stretch in but then they end up being too big the more you wear them.
I admire Kimberly as she is in a band with 4 girls who are considerably thinner than she is but she still comes across as confident and attractive. I also applaud New Look for choosing a normal sized model.
ladies,
They key is to find jeans that cater to our specific body type. There is no need to get frustrated or cry (wow) because there is nothing wrong with your bodies.
Here you go
PZI jeans
little in the middle jeans
Charlotte Ruse Jeans (yeah who knew)
CJ by cookie
Joe’s Jeans
Newport news jeans
Express jeans
Some of them are a little pricey but I think a great fitting pair of jeans as an investment. Nothing feels and looks better that a great fitting pair of jeans. It is also one of the few items that people wear all year round no matter the season. Another option is to have your pants tailored, if they fit in the thigh and hip but not is the waist just get them taken in at the waist.
I totally know what she’s talking about except for me its bras. Bra shopping makes me so depressed and makes me cry because no bras fit me and I just look at them and cry thinking that there is something wrong with me and that I hate being reminded every time I go bra shopping that I’m abnormal.
Why cry about it? They’re just pants made in a factory. If they don’t happen to fit your body it’s not a personal insult. Just try some different ones or if all else fails get them tailored.
When I was a teen I was a 34 (sometimes 36) in jeans and most stores only go up to a 34 which were always super long and I have really short legs. I’ve never been anything more than slightly annoyed.
That’s Canadian sizes I should mention I guess.
I find this womans figure to be overrated. Her legs are like tree trunks. All the other Girls Aloud have better figures than hers, but she get sympathy and called a “real women”
I think she would looks so much better if she lost some weight on her legs and hips. She is far too large to be modelling for New Look, they should have chosen Nadine.
It is impossible to lose weight on just one part of your body. The only thing you can do is tone up that part of your body but you cant make it smaller. The only way for her to make her thighs and hips smaller is to lose weight overall. There is no need for that because she is already skinny she just has fuller hips and thighs. Its called being pear-shaped and it is a great shape to be when you are skinny or fit. Am I the only person on this planet who loves being pear shaped?
No, You’re not the only one
I’m pear-shaped too and it was a little uncomfortable, when I was about 13 years old, but now I cannot imagine, how I felt, if my body shape was different
Skinny? LMAO are you kidding? she’s soft and round.
Skinny would be Cheryl and Nadine. Kimberley is huge compared to the other girls and looks massive in some of those new look shots. Not what a fashion model should look like sorry. big chunky legs and hips and bum is not
skinny.
All of the members in Girls Aloud have different body types and that’s what makes them BEAUTIFUL! Geez I would be bored everyone was tall and skinny. I have her “Tree Trunks” and hips and I work my butt off. Guess what? Some of us have a thing call genetics? Both my Mom and grandma have the exact same legs as me. The only way I could probably make them skinnier would be if I lost weight but if I did I would be underweight. I learned to love my tree trunks
. Anyways everyone is entitle to their own opinions. I do envy Kimberly’s waist though.
Exactly having full hips and butt does not make a person fat. There are plenty of small pears
(like kimberely & myself) but we will always have a curvy butt and hips. The only way to make the thighs stick thin is to become anorexic. Would that make you happy t?
For the love of God.
