Kim Kardashian Gets a Sunburn
April 18, 2009 in Kim Kardashian by Versus

Ouch! That looks painful!
Here’s what happened:
I am so sunburned and need help! I’m in Mexico and I was sunbathing when I fell asleep with my huge Prada butterfly sunglasses on and now look at me! I’m going to have to hide from cameras for days. I usually never get red, I always get dark. It hurts!
My whole body is burned but my face looks the worst because of the glasses. I will never wear sunglasses when sunbathing again!
Kim Kardashian on her blog.
One more after the jump!

Poor Kim …
ouch. i know from personal experience that it hurts… hope she doesn’t get sun poisoning! i feel bad for her… let’s hope she tans nicely!
this is what happens when you vanity tan! the whole tan is beautiful thing needs to be put to rest. tan = skin damage, period. sunscreen is key people!!
This is why I never bring sunglasses if I’m going to the beach.
oh ! brave Kim I love her cause she isn’t afraid to show her face even when it looks like that it’s kinda funny again kim you have a GREAT personality
she is soo retarded
I second this.
I third this. And way to promote skin cancer.
I fourth this! LOL! That girl is so… useless.
5TH THIS!
i sixth this!
I think the same.
I like her bodytype!
But she is so useless.
Also, why did not she go to the doctor??????
i 8th this!
I agree first thing i thought was what an idiot
ouch ouch ouch
That does looks really bad! However, “never wearing sunglasses while sunbathing again” is the worst idea ever! The skin on your eyelids is some of the most sensitive and therefore susceptible to the sun’s harmful rays. Also, people who don’t wear sunglasses end up with cataracts when they’re older and also, things like pterygiums which need to be surgically removed and are caused by too much UV exposure to the eyes. ALWAYS wear sunglasses, and it goes without saying: sunscreen, though she evidently forgot.
I think it really depends upon much more than just not wearing sunglasses when in the sun, but I guess there is no point in saying anything that could be considered the slightest bit ‘pro-tanning’ (even when it is not) because the world has recently become so ultra paranoid about skin cancer.
Did you know they actually found a content in sunscreen used to block harmful rays can actually cause the most deadly one: melanoma? Of course, they haven’t done any further research on it because they are earning too much money from sales of sunscreen. Just the same as how they continue selling birth control products where women only have a few periods a year or no periods at all when skipping periods often with a normal birth control product increases women’s risk of osteoporosis. ‘Who cares about the health of our fellow human beings when we can make loads of money?’
Sunscreens actually don’t cause melanoma. They were saying this for awhile because there was the assumption that by wearing sunscreen, you get less Vitamin D, and Vitamin D can prevent cancer. The Vitamin D/Cancer study was actually fairly poorly conducted, so you can’t even really conclude that Vitamin D prevents cancer based on the one study. Also, the problem is that people aren’t using UVA/UVB protecting sunscreens, just UVB. Which prevents the burn but doesn’t block the cancer damaging rays. So people don’t get burned, stay out in the sun longer, and still get just as much skin damage without the burn. So it ends up looking like people who wear sunscreen get more cancer. Bottom line: WEAR UVA/UVB SUNSCREEN!There’s so much more good evidence for sunscreen than against it!! I’m sorry for the lecture lol, I just hate when bad medical advice gets passed around
I’m not talking about the ones to do with vitamin D. I am talking about the ingredients in the sunscreen. There is an ingredient in many sunscreens and penetrates the skin and produces free radicals under light. Meaning it is likely to be carcinogenic (cancer-causing). After TWO YEARS this is only just reaching consumers and still, MANY sunscreens still contain this chemical. This chemical is also derived from another chemical that is known to attack DNA.
There have been several studies showing there could be a link between sunscreen and malignant melanoma (not to do with vitamin D), but, funnily enough, no medical association has published a warning.
There are many common sunscreen ingredients that can be risky for people and they know it, but they put it in there anyway WITHOUT testing it. This is done in several countries around the world.
I wouldn’t recommend NOT using sunscreen, but I would recommend doing your research and looking for a sunscreen that has been tested which you know is safe. Or should I say that you think you know is safe? There have been products that have been tested in the past and were then found to be dangerous for the health of the people. Perhaps avoiding those that have ingredients you know are ‘iffy’ is the best one can do.
Either way, does it really matter? Almost everything ’causes cancer’ today, so whether you sunbathe sometimes, drink alcohol, have sex, use hormonal birth control, don’t exercise much, eat grilled meat, are a bit overweight, eat food with colouring, go to a bar where people smoke or use a mobile phone, you’re definitely going to die of cancer.
ooohhh poor girl ouch!! that happens to me cus im too white hahaha it’s the worst pain that hurts so much u.u
i hope she gets better
im mixed and that totally happened to me like yesterday im so embarrassed i don’t even wanna go outside and like everyone’s like how’d you get that rash no its sun burn! white people aren’t the only people!
I actually admire her for feeling comfortable enough to show herself on her own blog before the paps catch her outside and make fun of her. She rocks.
i had the same thing happen to me at college graduation, except for i had a line in the middle of my forehead where the cap ended. it was awful
((
wow, she looks sooo beautiful without makeup! really, exlcuding the nasty sunburn though! ouchhhhh
that looks so painful. she’s dumb to not wear sunscreen.
It doesn’t say if she wore it or not, but it was definitely dumb to fall asleep in the sun whether she had sunscreen or not! It has to be reapplied to be effective.
It could be worse she could look like one of those dumb Guidos.
“I’m going to have to hide from cameras for days” says Kim, then promptly takes some photos and posts them for the world to see on the internets. Doh!
I hope the sun didn’t damage her last remaining brain cell, as well as her giving her skin cancer.
I tghink what she meant by that comment is that she can’t go do her job..as in promote products, model, go red carpet events etc
at least u know those sunnies r actually working…
Haha!
This has happened to me too once. It´s extremely embarrassing showing up at work like that.
That looks painful. That made me cringe a lot. I feel bad for her. I can’t even imagine. I think I would be afraid to move my face to even talk!
I feel for her. I get sunburnt from time to time on holiday. It hurts! Hopefully she’ll get a lovely dark tan out of it like I do.
a sunburn is still a burn. treat with cool water and take some advil, aspirin, etc… and the redness will be vastly decreased the next day…but not gone
