FHM Magazine has Kim Kardashian on the cover (in a bikini and mega-cleavagey, of course) and the picture is accompanied by this absolute title: “The Best Body on Earth”.
Well, that’s quite debatable.

i think she is chubby and that her butt and boobs are fake = not the best body on earth.
she is NOT chubby. she is very fit. but i do think that she has fake boobs. not due to their size, but do to their shape. i think they look good on her, but in my opinion it disqualifies her from being the best. her butt is a bit much for my taste, but i love her shape and what she represents – someone extremely curvy in shape and boobs and butt, but also SLIM and FIT.
I agree, she is a little chubby and her behind is not fit at all. Wonder why they picked her… Mayby the one they really picked got sick or something and they were despererate….
Or maybe some guys would prefer a girl that seems more real than a supermodel does.
I personally don’t understand what’s wrong with having a flabby ass or being a little chubby. I’m not saying just being ‘curvy’ (whatever that means anymore), but I know problem a tiny handful of girls that don’t have cellulite or flab at least somewhere. And the rest, whether they’re skinny, curvy, chubby, whatever, all have something. It’s not like you can be considered unhealthy if one or two parts of you don’t fit the mold of a supermodel.
Maybe Kim was chosen because she looks like a girl that you might see just walking down the street. She’s gorgeous, but still attainable.
I can honestly say that I have no problem with her body being considered the best on earth.

lillian, i agree with what you say! Apart from one bit =o) I dont think Kim K’s body is attainable! you have to have her basic shape to get that body. Not all people who are thin can just gain weight and get her look. I think she has a great body but i dont love her bum. But hey, it stands up and thats the main thing in my books! I just dont think she can really lose that much weight from it! and many do love it! but the rest of her…pretty much perfect imo

Uh…the women in my family? I’m half Black/half Mexican, and I come from a family of women blessed with at least C cups (one of my sisters is slightly larger), small waists and larger booties, and quite frankly, while it may be harder to find pants that fit in both the waist and hips, I wouldn’t change a thing about my shape.
Kim Kardashian is absolutely NOT fit. That’s an insult to milions of women who work their ass off getting fit. The girl has great curves no doubt. But she is NOT fit. There is not a spot on her that has muscle tone. Why would you even thinks she was fit?!?!?

Also, even if people DO want to call her fat, you are right, yu cant deny she is curvy! she has a very curvy shape! which would also still be there if she lost a lot of weight (tho i think she wouldnt suit a lower fat percentage)
Just goes to show how differently men and women think about what is sexy and what isn’t! Most women seem to think that skinnier is better. I’m not saying that women need to fit their body to a male ideal – just an interesting observation on how we differ in our perceptions. It is so sad how skewed our idea of what a beautiful body is these days. As women we have been so brainwashed by magazines, catwalks etc. into believing that extremely thin is the ideal that we begin to think that a beautiful womanly body is ‘fat’. Kim’s body is in no way fat! It is so sad. I just revisited Naomi Wolfe’s “The Beauty Myth” which I read as a Uni student in the early nineties. I was so alarmed to realise that our warped perception of the female body is actually much much worse than it was nearly twenty years ago! I have a young daughter, and had hoped by now we would have figured out all this body stuff and been much more realistic about what constitutes a healthy body. I am very worried about how much worse all this pressure on girls to be extremely thin will be by the time she reaches an age to be concerned about it – which seems to be younger and younger these days. Sorry for the rant – but some of these comments about what constitutes a ‘fat/chubby’ figure really upset me.

But I agree with you. It’s kind of like how celebrities are also accused of getting nose jobs if they have a nice nose. I think people assume if it’s available and a celebrity looks good, they must have done plastic surgery. It’s rationalizing. It’s a lot more bearable to admit that they went and bought their breasts or their nose than to admit the harsh and unfair truth that some people hit the genetic lottery.
The implants talk is especially true if skinny women have breasts. Adriana Lima, Gisele, Marisa Miller…all have been repeatedly accused of having implants.
I thought Kim had said she had a boob job on Keeping Up With The Kardashians or did I imagine that? I thought they said that she (Kim) and Kourtney had both had implants. Hmm I can’t remember. Anywho, I think her body looks pretty proportional and she looks healthy. She’s not super skinny or over weight however I would not say she has the perfect body. Has anyone? Nobody is perfect but she’s still got a very good body and an attractive face.

Best body is all very subjective. It completely depends on personal preference. Personally think she has a great body but the best body on earth….not sure about that one.
I agree that it is all subjective. Especially about the ‘on Earth’ part. Other areas of the world have entirely different views on what is beautiful. e.g. Big lips are generally seen as attractive in the west, but in Asia they are seen as unattractive.
I think she has a very good body. I’ thinner than her, by far and also taller but I would trade anytime !
the only thing that I don’t like is her butt but still, when you tend to be that curvy I think it’s pretty impressive to have a flat belly like her

So totally agree! Women should be rejoicing that such a womanly figure is considered an ideal! Maybe then we can all give ourselves a little break over attaining the supposed ultra thin ideal and realise that is just one perception of what a perfect woman should look like.

There are a lot of women on this website that say that skinny is beautiful and it’s funny because if every woman could attain her goal to be skinny, men would be quite unhappy.
And again, it’s not men that say to a girl she is fat, that’s women.
Again, that’s really subjective. Seeing Kim as ‘best body on Earth’ (even though I do disagree.. Bar FTW^^) does not at all make me feel better about myself. I’m not stick thin, but I’m not very curvy; I have A cups (no matter how much I weigh) and very little waist definition.
For me, tall skinny models are a lot more attainable than Kim’s body. If I’d lose maybe 10lbs I’d look like one. However, no amount of exercise, weight loss or weight gain will ever have me look like Kim (not that I particularly want to look like HER exactly, but you get the point..). The recent ‘curvy craze’ has just got me feeling bad about being flat chested.
There’s no doubt she has a great body. However, “best” – hahah not even close! Besides, that’s all subjective. Some like skinny, some like full, some prefer lean and lanky, some prefer more obvious musculature. No each his own!

oh for crying out loud – SHE IS NOT CHUBBY. everyone saying it does not make it true. i think there is a huge backlash to her body because it actually is what men are biologically programed to like…we can debate whether the fake boobs discount that or whether her butt is just a little too big to be ‘perfect’…but she is a voluptuous hourglass (there are hourglasses who are less voluptuous, but still have the shape). that is what men biologically like. i know a man in particular who is a fan of kierra knightly, petra nermova, natalie portman, but actually finds kim’s body hotter – he likes the presence, style, and faces of the other women. but even thought it would seem he only likes thin women ruler shaped women, and might want to date them, he would want kim k in the bedroom or at least in fantasy world. some men might not like kim’s body at all. and that is fine. but the majority of men are drawn to it – whether they act on it or say it or even know it. and i think that is threatening to women whether they know it or not, its threatening that their boyfriend or husband may fantasize about it and they cannot fulfill it, or maybe some women just don’t like that body type being called the ‘best’ because of the worst part about this body – YOU CANNOT WORK FOR IT. you have it or you don’t. if your bones and fat distribution patterns haven’t given you this shape and proportions, you aren’t going to have them, end of story. and that sucks.
but you CAN starve yourself to look like some of our favorite sticks.and they are models of discipline and restraint. and if one of them had been announced to be the best body, there would be lots of backlash from people like me who a) don’t like that shape and b) think being too thin is unhealthy and unattractive and just not fun, but somehow it might satisfy us all, because we could look like that IF we TRIED. or at least its easier to pretend we could. it could be something to “aspire” to.

Her body fat percentage is probably like 25% which is perfectly healthy. No she’s not ‘toned’ and not chubby, just normal.
But what makes her appealling (to men) is the way in which her fat is distributed, i.e. in her boobs and butt.
right – i wouldn’t say she is muscular or anything, but i would say her abs and such are fairly tight. yes, her body fat is higher than someone like miranda kerr, so we see less…so by ‘toned’ i mean more that she doesn’t lie on the ‘skinny-fat’ scale of people who have low to normal bfps but don’t exercise at all (like kristen stewart – probably lower bfp, but wobblier, as it appears she has very little muscle tone.
I really don’t think someone like Kristen Stewert is any lower on the body fat % than Kim to be honest. Just very different build and fat distribution.

But I think what is more commonly going on is that people don’t like her personality, and are projecting their frustrations on her body. It’s kind of how you would call someone you hate a “big fat s*utty hobag” when they may in fact be none of those things.

Many, [and those who feel the need to chime in right now are probably the culprits, otherwise if it doesn't apply, let it fly], are projecting their distaste for Kim Kardashian on Kim Kardashian’s BODY, even if they don’t want to admit it. Everyone has their own tastes, and it just so happens that 90% of the guys I know, if not more, love a KIM K body. She’s well-proportioned and her face is very easy on the eyes. She’s also confident and has an aura about her. It’s one thing to say, “I don’t like her body” versus, “she’s a fat slutty midget”. good point, casey. that is probably another factor. its not people saying ‘i personally don’t like that body type’ that i meant – it was more the kind of thing you are talking about – mean comments calling her fat. and they come from a nasty place, but just ‘oh its not my style,’ so i think disliking her would be a huge part of it.

Nice speech but have you maybe, in that tiny brain of yours thought about how it’s each their own? If people find her chubby it is THEIR opinion.. She is def not skinny. It’d be crazy calling a runway model chubby true, but kim isn’t skinny or a runway model. She’s somewhere between ‘normal – chubby’. I think she’s more chubby then normal.

Who brought up jealousy? You can like your body better but dislike another body type being called best because it’s not yours. That’s not jealousy. That’s just a response to a self esteem threat. Some people feel confident in their own bodies, but they also want everyone else to see that their body is great too…and because of that, they can develop animosity towards other figures.
I’ve found that a lot of women who actually don’t want to be size 0′s still feel huge animosity for women who are a size 0, and vice versa. Nothing to do with jealousy. And I doubt you can prove that this doesn’t describe at least some women, especially those that rather than say, “Oh I think she is chubby,” go on to say something like, “SHE IS A FAT MIDGET HO.” There’s just too much animosity there to be just a differing preference.

on another note – you are entitled to dislike her body type. but you are not entitled to state an untrue fact – that she is chubby. she is a healthy weight and a fairly trim one. she may be too meaty for your personal taste but that does not make her chubby. see the difference? if you don’t like it that is opinion, even if normal weights are too much for your liking, that is your opinion and you say ‘she is healthy and normal but i prefer a very, very lean look.’ not ‘she is chubby’ implying that she is out of a healthy and normal range.
and honestly, if you feel in your heart of hearts that she is chubby and you are not threatened by her or have a personal dislike for her (which i find hard to believe since you called her useless and a ‘fat paris hilton’), and its more than ‘not just your style’ and you think her weight is beyond the acceptable range then i don’t want to continue to discuss (if your treatment of the subject even qualifies as a ‘discussion’) anyone’s weight and body type, because you may have some issues with body perception and should seek help.

I agree that she is not chubby or even fat. That said, I don’t like her body from waist down at all, and I don’t think she is very “threatening”, I am actually a 100% sure that my boyfriend does not fantasize with her. Women like Adriana Lima, Megan Fox… now, those are threatening, and yet I would never criticize them for it, not their fault they are gorgeous. So I don’t think most women criticize her because they feel threatened, I think they do it because they have a personal dislike of her, and lets face it, she’s made that quite easy. If you need proof that it’s not because they feel threatened, take someone like Christina Hendricks, she’s as curvy as Kim or more, and more beautiful, and yet most women seem to like her.

@ versus or anyone else what body type am I I carry weight mostly in my mid section and thighs and a lil in my arms. My legs look skinny in comparison to my thighs. I have big boobs and butt. However…..I’ve just recently noticed that my hips aren’t to protruding even though I have some and I have a small waist thus I always have to wear a belt with my jeans…….

Well is a matter of taste. For me Candice swanepoel’s butt and legs are on the right height.
You are talking about women of totally different heights. Tall people tend to have their legs and butts up higher on their body than shorter people.
Not just different heights, but different body types. Candice has a small torso and long legs, while Kim seems to have proportional torso/leg lengths (Alessandra would be an example of long torso/short legs).
It depends on what you prefer.
For me is more a matter of good proportions. For example Sienna Miller is at this height but she has a beautiful body with long legs, a high butt and generally harmonic measurements. Again this is my opinion, other people like a different type of women.
Sienna Miller is still about 4 inches taller than Kim.
@ Emmy- yep i see what you’re saying, but I have always found Siennas body boring! So to me, I prefer measurements and proportions like Kim (tho a bit more muscle in the leg and less butt). Say like, Salma Hayak or Halle Berry. I have always struggled to find anything overly attractive about Sienna. Besides her name =p
I actually like Kim’s body especially in these pictures. Her workouts are really paying off, but BEST body? I don’t agree with that at all. Her legs have always been to skinny for me and her stomach’s too soft. Everyone’s a critic I suppose. Gorgeous girl but in no way does she have ‘The BEST Body on Earth’.

Disliking her personality is one thing- but why are people so rediculously vicious about her body?? People have different body shapes… not everyone can be leggy and thin. And the fake butt thing… I have a booty and big boobs.. (though not near the booty Kim has) and I can tell you some people are just built like that. I am slim and fit with curves, but even if I dieted forever Id never be leggy like Kate Moss… not everyone can make their bodies look a certain way. Even if a body type is not your personable preference I don’t understand why girls get off tearing down eachothers bodies…

Know the feeling. When I first started visiting this site I was really happy because the comments were mainly positive and not bitchy. But I feel like it is changing, because there are so many mean and insulting comments nowadays and that is really making me sad.
Yes, I agree. Every post is like that now.. no matter what bodytype or who it is. I enjoyed reading before too, but now Im thinking maybe its better for me to avoid it. Ive struggled with disordered eating and body image issues my entire life, and reading the comments on this site really does nothing uplifting or inspiring. Latley it seems the oposite.

Well, it’s a body that I would by NO means EVER want, myself.
Sometimes I think Kim is a pretty girl, but her narcissism can really make her ugly. As far as the best body , yeas she looks good and I have the dame shape tiny waist, wide hips short legs and big bubble butt. The only difference is my boobs are not as big. However I really don’t think Kim should be considered the best body because her body is not all natural i.e. her butt, possibly her boobs, and I really think she has done something to her face. The reason Kim won’t admit to her surgeries is due to insecurity. I think the best body should got to someone who is all natural.
I also think that the beach pics could very well be touched up cause Kim NEVER lets photos of her especially butt shots get out without some retouching and then lets people think they are untouched. Perez Hilton said that celebs will set up their own “candid” photoshoots to control their image. Just saying cause it was one to two weeks prior to these pics coming out that we saw kim in workout clothes and us could see the cellulite.

I like her bod- she’s curvy with a flat stomach. I don’t think she’s chubby at all. She’s at a good healthy weight for her height. She just happens to carry a lot of weight in her breasts (if they’re real) and behind. I think she has a shorter/less defined waist which sometimes makes her look a little bigger.

The thing I find the worst about this debate that seems to be going on is the cruelty in what alot of readers are posting.
We should be applauding Kim for being out there, in the public eye challenging the ideals of beauty and perfection that are being forced into us, not sitting here bagging her and making rude remarks about her shape and size, and personality when in reality, non of us really know her.

I am 20 years old, at 5 ft. I have an exact butt like Kim Kardashian. Sometimes I hate it nut men like it. The thing that most people want to see is something fake…Like a body-less model. Breast implants and a surgically enhanced butt don’t completely change the overall shape of a person, it’s a little more complicated than that. I would even argue that she went overboard with the size of her ‘upgrades’ considering her natural frame. The bottom line is that Kim has a nice figure but not a ‘perfect’ one. She has more of a pear shaped body, which means that her back is somewhat narrow in proportion to hips which are far too wide. This also means that her overall buttock shape is noticeably more rectangular than round. Round is considered the ideal shape by anyone with a good eye and an above average understanding of aesthetics. More than one plastic surgeon has already pointed this out btw. Her torso is a little on the long side for her height while her legs are somewhat short and of average shape. You may not realize this, but legs are very important when judging the beauty of a body. Based on my experience, truly beautiful legs are quite rare…
She has extremely short legs, fake butt & boobs (I imagine she was a pear before with a flabby butt & got herself “rounded” out to be an exaggerated hourglass), too long torso, surgically altered face – very far from “best”, IMO.
I don’t see why women like her are touted as some kind of anecdote to the waifish fashion model – surgically altering yourself to meet another impossible ideal (the exaggerated hourglass with huge boobs) is NOT healthy either, nor does it represent a “real” woman.
