You know, you really need to ask yourself what your problem is. Seriously. You need to figure out why you even care what someone else’s body looks like and why you feel it is your right to even have an opinion about it. Kelly Clarkson’s weight has no effect or bearing on your life whatsoever. So what’s your deal? Are you really that insecure? If you are a male, are you pissed that Kelly Clarkson wouldn’t give you a second glance, fat or thin? If you are a female, do you hate the fact that she’s comfortable with herself whatever her weight and you aren’t comfortable with yourself? You must lead a very sad and shallow life. I feel sorry for you.
I think she looks great! she’s smiling,glowing and seems to be very happy, not like all these super-skinny hollywood bitches!

even though she is overweight..she still does her job well….she has a kick ass voice. I love her….I choose to listen to her music and buy her albums because of her voice not because of her dress size.
I am a guy from Norway. And I can tell you that most “normal” and yes “hot dudes” like curvy girls. Some like thin, some like fat and some like curvy. Its the same thing with girls; some like thin guys, guys that are fat and guys who has muscles. Its the same pressure that men should be a beefcake in this society today also. I am very fit and my looks are quite ok, and for me saying that should not result in me being shallow or overly self confident. In fact, I also have a good personality, what? Good looking and personality? Does that exist? haha.
Anyway, I think she is a bit fat now, but let her be! She still has a pretty face
good point Marius. I think Woman are harder on themselves and harder on each other and put such high expectations on themselves and each other. Men are usually more forgiving to each other, but woman can be cruel and heartless to each other. But yeah men enjoy curves, chubby, or thin woman. To each their own.
She does look a little overweight yes, but she looks happy and smiley and isn’t shying away from the limelight. It’s nothing that couldn’t be recitfied with a little more exercise and a healthier diet.
She’ll sort it out in time I’m sure, but if she doesn’t than maybe this is just the way she’s supposed to be? I know alot of girls who are at that line between having a few extra pounds and being overweight. They’re there because that’s where they’re bodys have decided they’re supposed to be. Active lifestyles, healthy eating.. but still on that line.
They just don’t want to spend hours every week on the treadmill to maintain a smaller body. Can’t say I blame them, there’s much more fun things to be doing!
I don’t think anyone expects her to be skinny but she really should lose a good thirty pounds or so for health reasons alone.
She doesn’t need to lose that much for health reasons. Recommendations is about 5-10% of your overall weight to lessen health complications. If she’s around 165 lbs. as those experts suggested, that’s only about 8.25-16.5 lbs. I’d say 20 lbs. max for health reasons alone. Anymore is for aesthetic reasons, IMO.
I agree that she needs 30 lbs. and believe me that 40 lbs would be even better.

Oh, not gonna argue with that, I agree. If she’s this way because of neglecting healthier choices, she should definitely make better choices. But IMO, smell steps are the best way to do that, she shouldn’t try to aim for anything drastic like others have suggested, because when that fails, people usually have a hard time coming back from the failure, and end up making worse choices than before.
i agree, instant, crash dieting doesn’t solve anything. i hate when magazines post their “how i lost weight in 3 WEEKS!” stories on celeb weight loss, because seriously, how many times have janet jackson, jessica simpson, kirstie alley been on those particular stories? these personal trainers that set them on 6 day work out regimens and 1200 calorie diets aren’t aiming for a healthier lifestyle, just weight loss results.
I Agree she is not obese, overwieght yes. To be obese she would have to have a BMI of 30 or more!
Oh here we go again lol. Is she obese or isn’t she. It’s really for her doctor to decide. Even if I say she looks about 35% body fat someone will say that’s not obese or that she looks less.
I don’t really know, neither do any of us. At the end of the day it’s her body and her health. If she wants to reduce her body fat and get fitter great, if not it’s her business.
Crystal, BMI is not very good way to determine obesity. But a BMI of 30 is actually only about 30lb overweight for her, it’s not like 100lb overweight or anything extreme. I think going by % body fat is much more reliable though.
I dunno. I think she looks fine. Sure, she’s got a little extra, but she is NOT obese, and she is not unhealthy!! She’s not going to die of a heart attack tomorrow, and I think you guys gotta lay off a bit. Anyone who says “omg she is disgusting” is really showing off what they look like on the inside. You can’t call someone disgusting based on size alone and then try to pass yourself off as a good person.

Oh come on now, who here actually has access to her medical records? She is a very wealthy woman who I’m sure gets the best medical care the country has to offer. She is responsible for her own health and I’m sure she will make any changes her doctor recommends. She’s a singer, not a model or beauty pagent contestant. I realize that everyone has their favorites, but any discussion should focus on her music, not her looks.
She’s a little overweight, however, the camera can add up to fifteen pounds. She could be smaller than what she appears here.
Either way, she’s not some 600lb woman, strapped to her bed being featured on TLC’s World’s Heaviest Woman episode.
She’s a normal person who struggles with the same thing everyone else does. I’m sure she’s aware of her weight gain, I’m sure she’s insecure or at the very least self-conscious about it, and I’m sure she has no desire to remain at the size she is.
I mean really, cut her break, she’s human.
I doubt anyone here has plans to run to her house and rescue her from herself or do anything past pointing at her and gasping.

It’s obvious she has gained weight (certainly NOT obese), but she never was a thin girl to begin with (loved her at her previous weight). But let’s face it, if she were to continue at this rate, she’ll just get bigger and bigger. She’s not ‘naturally’ slender…like myself, she has to keep on it because before you know it, you wake up one day and not recognize the person in the mirror, wondering ‘when did this happen’ or ‘how’. We see it all the time, we hear it all the time…Kristy Allen?

She doesn’t have the body shape to be unhealthily overweight how she is now.. I mean she is a pear and health complications associated with being overweight are usually to do with having fat around your belly not on your butt!!

Yes but regardless of your body shape if your waist goes over 32 inches it can become a health problem. Even pears will eventually gain excess around the middle.
She is not REALLY fat. I saw her live and she didn’t look big. Maybe it’s just the cameras. She is amazingly talented, and while I hope she is taking care of herself, I’m kind of glad she is showing that you can be super successful and not be a toothpick with a marshmallow for a head.
if she could just find a happy meduim between her thinner days and now then shed be perfect! ive watched her in interviews and she seems just lovely, it just shows that she has talent as shes still sucessful even though shes bigger than the usual hollywood stereotype
She has an amazing voice. At her size right now, she is not unhealthy! She isn’t obese and is only a bit overweight. Cameras can make you look much heavier than you are in real life. People should try not to say things without thinking, however I agree with Hayley, she should find a happy medium.
