I think this list has alot to do with who they could get on / in thier magazine.
I mean really? Amanda Bynes? and not Kate beckinsdale, or beyonce? I dont really like Miranda Keer but I know alot of people really do. Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Sopia Vergara, Salma Hayek, Denise Milani. Rhiana looked like a man all year long, and Audrina over Scarlet? but.. Audrina has done maxim twice now.

I have to agree w Kyle. It had to do w who they can get on their magazine. Ex: Kristin Cavallari is OBVIOUSLY A LOT PRETTIER THAN AUDRINA (99.9% ppl agree?) but she said in one of her interviews she’ll never pose nude/semi-nude for a magazine despite receiving many offers from Playboy/Maxim. Surprise? She’s not in top 20, but Audrina is, and she’s done Maxim twice.
According to the mag, she was chosen because she is pretty and has a cool personality.

Apt title there maxim, because in this case “hottest” isn’t just about the real face and body- it’s all about the sex appeal, the hype and propaganda. Hot indeed, these lists are just another way for celebs to figure out who’s selling themselves the best to the public, and vice versa to tell the public that their image represents beauty. These celeb “hot lists” are just arbitrary pseudo synthetic fickle Hollywood fantasy.
“Hotness” for a man usually refers to a woman’s sex appeal and how “doable” she is. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with actual beauty. This is one of the many differences between the sexes.

Totally disagree. Not enchanted one iota by Katy Perry. I personally don’t think Amanda Bynes or Olivia Munn should even be on the list, albeit Olivia has a hot enough bod, but Nicole Scherzinger trumps Munn by a mile.
Its not about beauty. Its about who is popular this yr. She has an album coming out, thats all it is.I think she’s cute but really annoying. I think Zoe Saldana is well deserved though.

I like the fact that there are some curvier (and by no means do i mean big, just not super waif) women on this list. Just goes to show what men prefer.
