Make under, in my opinion! Her hair looked great with the- dark and pale skin combo, i thought it really suited her. This colour isn’t horrendous but i just don’t find it as striking as her dark hair. Obviously this isn’t the final colour but i don’t think any colour will look as good with her skin as her previous colour did.

She might be trying to get to platinum blonde in a safe way. Going black to blonde is pretty damaging so maybe the ginger is an in between step?
I don’t think you can go red before blonde or the red will show through later. It’s really hard to go from Red to blonde. I think she will go an even brighter red

‘secret’ hair colour is going to be blonde. which WILL be a makeunder when it happens, because I have a dislike for most dyed blonde hair (unless a persons hair is light in the first place). But I like the red. I think its softer than the black and quite retro on her. she should keep it.
If one can “dye” their hair platinum blonde, can they “bleach” it black, too?
blah blah blah, dye is a ‘catch all’ term for changing ones hair colour.
besides, most people who do bleach their hair should TONE it with a dye over it. leaving it just bleached means it tends to look pretty orangey.

yep, her sister has light hair and when Katy was younger she had blonde hair…she looks better w black hair and blues eyes though imo..she stands out w that look…being blonde & blue eyed is not rare
blue eyes and blond hair isn’t rare in Hollywood maybe, but having natural blonde hair is very rare. Less than 3% of the world’s entire population has natural blonde hair, and a lot of adults that had blonde hair as kids end up being brunettes as adults. There are still some (small few) naturally blonde adults though, Katy Perry is one.

her natural hair is light. So technically it was light in the first place and she just dyed it black. In that case, she’s be just dying it back and I don’t think light hair would look that bad on her since she has naturally blonde hair.

I love the ginger! The ultimate colour is definitely blonde. I’ve seen pics from before she was famous when she was blonde and she didn’t look as beautiful as she does with the black hair…. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! But I loooooved her black hair. it looked gorgeous.

The ginger is ok, i like the black better. I googled to see what she looked like as a blonde previously, i think it might work, back then she looked more ordinary but it was also due to the (lack off) styling. I found a video of her when she was 16, singing, i can’t believe how good her voice was. I wonder what happened, is it just the sucky autotuned pop songs or if she actually got worse. Shame. I mean, i’ve seen her live shows (in tv), and she’s often sounded quite unpleasant, out-of-tune squeeky to me.

MAJOR downgrade. This is a transition color.. she’s most likely going very blonde. Now she’ll look like every other typical pop star. The black looks amazing on her.. why ruin a good thing? I bet she’ll go back pretty quick
I can’t believe people are saying the black didn’t look good. Black is the BEST choice for her. It looked good on her pale or tan. It makes her eyes stand out, looks best with her makeup, looks classic, and more unique. In-between hair colors are BORING and are for plain or ugly faced people. And I’m assuming she’s going blonde which will look too porn star-ish with her features. She needs to keep her hair black!

The black hair did look good on her, but only when she was wearing makeup I think. Without makeup and when she’s at the bead, it washed her out a little bit. Black is a hard color to upkeep – you don’t necessarily need to have a tan, but a lot of people have to wear makeup to brighten their complexion. Her natural hair is blonde, so it must have also been harder to upkeep.

i think she looks very average with this color hair and this tan. it really proves that the overall image makes a person, not just one feature. her pale skin, black hair, light eyes thing is what makes her so beautiful. makeunder
I’m suprised so many people don’t like it, I think it looks great! I think she needs to lay off the eyebrow make up though now that she’s gone lighter, they’re a little too dark still. I kind of get why she’d switch, I’m a natural medium blonde and everybody loves my hair dark brown over blonde but it just gets to be sooooo much upkeep.
I don’t get why black is so great, seriously it’s like the new platinum blonde. Every teenage girl I know goes through the black hair stage. The truth is if it isn’t natural it’s a a huge pain to keep up with and most of the time without alot of make up, it doesn’t look good.

I actually like the redish hair on her, though I think it would look much better if she didn’t have the fake tan or bronzer. She suits pale skin and it would look nicer with the red hair too. She’s probably hoping to dye her hair blonde again, because blonde is her natural hair color. She must be tired of having to re-dye her hair and roots all the time. It might be damaging to her hair. The ginger would look better with a different skin tone. I like the black but it’s nice to change it up once in a while. I personally prefer people with their natural hair color but Katie looks least impressive to me with her natural blonde hair. She looks better as a brunette or redhead.

I’m far too distracted by this disaster of a dress to even be thinking about her hair. The dress itself looks like a candy colored granny sweater, but the sleeves look like they were ripped off of a little girl’s Halloween costume. I’m very confused.
I doubt if she was going blonde she would go red first, coz red is really hard to change to blonde coz it shows through and can make the blonde look orange. I think she’s going to go a bright red

What i don’t understand is, wasn’t there a good wig Kerry could of used temperoily for events, just until she got the hair color she wanted?
