Jessica Is a Size 8 + More Speculation

Wow, “Jessica Gained Weight” appears to be the story of the week! More and more rumours and responses are surfacing – here are 2 different versions:
OK! Magazine:
Indeed, the singer sent a statement to critics: She loves her curves! “I’m not fat,” Jess recently confessed to a pal. “Going from a size 2 to a size 8, that’s not fat. If I weren’t Jessica Simpson, no one would care.”
Jessica’s confidence no doubt comes from her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo, 28. “He thinks Jess is hot no matter what,” a friend of the singer tells OK!. “He wants to date a girl who can have a few beers, ribs, fries and dessert.
And it seems Jessica is more than happy to indulge Romo’s wishes. “She’s not willing to trade having fun with Tony with being a size 2,” the friend says. “She doesn’t want to have people focus only on her looks.”
MSNBC:
“She’s loving it,” said a source close to Simpson, who suspects her weight gain is strategic. “It will probably get her back on covers right when she is a ‘supporting’ act on tour. I bet Joe (Simpson) has already sold the weight-loss story.”
Despite the benefits of once again being a newsstand success, Simpson’s rep says rumors that dad is shopping around the story are “entirely untrue.”
Going up 3 sizes seems like a tremendous weight gain to me, if that’s true. Doesn’t about 12 lbs equal one size? I still think she looks ok, but extra weight is never healthy, whether your boyfriend likes it or not.
I think that if you are still below “plus size”(which starts at 14 or 16, depending on where you shop) even with an increase of 3 sizes, I don’t think it is a tremendous amount. It sounds like a lot, going from 2 to 8, but the difference between a 2 and an 8 is three inches in the waist and hips(25″ to 28″ in the waist, 36″ to 39″ in the hips). I’m not sure about the “12 lbs. equals 1 size” formula, never heard of that one
Extra weight is unhealthy, but she doesn’t look like she’s hit the “too much extra weight” range, especially at a size 8.
Umm ok..I thought ashlee claimed that she was a size 2. now she a size 8?
and yes clothing size is not a measure of health. but fat is.
if she really wanted assure us she was healthy she would state her weight or more specifically BMI. and that shouldn’t be a problem since she “doesn’t care” right?
IMO, I don’t think a size 8 woman is going to have an unhealthy BMI(unless she’s really short
). Not sure if she will have a too high fat percentage(IMO, she doesn’t look like she has excess fat, but then again there’s “skinny fat” 
), but BMI isn’t going to be a problem. At 5’2″, I wore a size 8 when I weighed 130 lbs., so unless Jess is shorter than me, I don’t think she’s going to have a weight that’s too high 
Told ya, her man isn’t complaining.

She’s kind of J.Lo-esque in that she seems to yo-yo, but to me it’s more an on-season, off-season cyclical change.
She has excellent control over her shape in that she has the discipline to work out all the time when she has to, but she’s okay with letting go and enjoying herself when she doesn’t have a big project.
i think she actually looks nice and well . . normal

She is bigger than a size 8. Or maybe that was the problem in that outfit the other day- she thinks she is a size, when she is a 10 @least.
Accepting yourself is not letting yourself go. Jessica is letting herself go.
I predict she is doing this for Tony. From a psychological stand point, it makes definite sense….
-Surprised? Don’t be. Jessica has reputation relationships due to her (reportedly from the ex’s) over dependency and over bearing need to please
-Her pop career which started a young age was all about being molded to please everyone (much like Britney). It makes less of diva like individual and more moldable plastic Barbie doll. And having no one to turn to, like family who weren’t trying to market you, she feels always alone and dependent for direction.
-Jessica said her childhood was that she was never able to fit in, especially by girls( Who were probably jealous of her development). She tended to be accepted by guys(for obvious reasons, good or bad) . She then probably found out it was easier to please males than females. This got her addicted to the attention when she acted the way she thought they would want her too.
-In adulthood, you can still her affect of her want to please everyone. She doesn’t know how to relate to men any other way. Especially when only learning to please her father and other men in her life.
-Her IQ is quite high, but you would never know from how she portrays herself. i.e all blondes are dumb. She chooses to act the stereotype
-Tony never repeatedly talks openly about their relationship. Jessica does, even when no one asks. When talking about physical appearance to the media or at least strangers, she should have no incentive to mention tony at all. b/c what does it matter if tony or anyone accepts her body. She suppost to accept herself before anyone else does. This indicates she is very insecure. She needs someone else to say they accept it before, she could say it herself, and she uses that as a cushion to convince herself.
-Lastly, tony is probably one of those guys who make it very clear they don’t want girls who are high maintenance or care what people think. Unfortunately most girls are, including Jessica. Tony is probably sees the control everyone has over her, and has prominently made clear she shouldn’t conform. Not knowing he is another man of who she thinks she needs to please.
“(a) few beers, ribs, fries and dessert”? First of all, who eats all that at one time? Men especially athletes tend to eat a lot, you can’t expect the average female or person to eat the equivalent amount of food that you do. That’s very easy for tony demand since he’s always getting exercise, from his vigorous football career.
****So, Jessica eats to show him that she doesn’t care. Continually, Jessica being insecure, would even go as much as over eating and picking even more worse choices than tony. Jessica is stuck: if she loses the weight tony would frown upon her thinking she did that to conform, the media says she fat, and overall she isn’t happy in her new body. Nobody with such a mentally disownership of their body or so insecure would be and that’s understandable.
Gosh… after over analyzing her possible situation, I sympathize with her. However, I advise Jessica to lose the weight privately (if that is possible), for herself, and no one else. She should do it to be fit, healthier and more confident. A belly is never sexy, nor does any girl feel truly sexy having one. It would be the same situation if tony imposed on her to lose weight.

I totally disagree that Jess being a size 8 is in the category of “letting herself go.” Have you ever thought that her being a size to was unhealthy for her? That she didn’t eat and had to work out more than normal to try and maintain that weight? And what belly? She might not have abs but she is far from having rolls to.

I based my health assumptions on her height, build, and bone structure.
Firstly, I never said Jessica being a size 8 was fat or unhealthy, that’s fine. In fact I never mentioned her clothing size b/c I could care less and that is not an indicator of health.
However, her weight gain is, which I did mention it Jessica has gained a considerably amount of weight in a short period. Considering the average woman gains 6 lbs a year naturally .this is because she yo-yo diets which will cause her to gain more weight after the diet than before she started it. This is very unhealthy.
And bite me, for wanting the old Jessica back when she was curvy but toned. So regardless of size, Jess needs some major toning and fitness. If she was size 8 and fit, then there would not be problem.
And I’m getting my master’s in February. 2more years till PHD to go XD But didn’t realize I was coming off as a teacher. My bad, sry:p. I over analyze sometimes…

as much as i don’t give a rat’s bum about what jessica does, i do think she has a very ‘sweet-looking’ face… fat or skinny.
Some people act like she should be commended for not buying into pressure to be thin, and even go so far as to site her weight gain as making her a good role model. Well yo-yo dieting and having your weight fluctuate drastically is not a good role model. Someone who honestly is comfortable with their size is a good weight. This girl has issues.
Gaining weight once is not considered fluctuating. You have to go up and down, up and down, up and down in weight to be considered a “yo-yo dieter”. Gaining a bit of weight once in a while is not dangerous for her health…She is probably MORE healthy now than when she was thinner because she’s finally allowing herself the right amount of food.
*Jessica has been known to gain weight more than once, She ACTUALLY does have a record of yoyo dieting. the big surprise (to the media) is that she never has gained so much before.
*and the problem besides health is that she doesn’t put on weight well or proportianately. thus its doesn’t look too attractive.the weight has squared of her figure. it would have been less controversial and obvious, if she distributed fat to more flatering places besides her waist;I’m sure no one would complain.

I totally agree with FREEDOM on this one. Oh, and I don’t belive she was size 2. She was never size 2! She would look ugly, sick and ill… Jessica is such a beautiful,sweet and nice girl. The only thing she needs is more confidence.
Poor her for all this criticism.. only in America is there all this speculation about her weight lol. I haven’t heard anything about it over here (in Britain) other than on the internet. I think she still looks great (^_^)
If a celebrity makes it famous by being a thin sex symbol and she gains 20 pounds, then she has to expect the comments. The person who needs to get over the comments is Jessica Simpson; just like Tyra banks thought she would be treated the same once gaining 20 pounds. Fact is, once a person becomes a celebrity, the person will no longer be able to lead a ‘normal’ life again, regardless how hard he or she tries; sad but true.
