I so agree with you!! It’s like she has given up on herself and embraced a diet of junk food and fried cheesy stuff and no exercise. I really really want her to wake up and get a grip. I doubt she can look at herself in the mirror and be happy looking like she aged 10 years and 2 years. Not good.

I was not calling her fat like I said, but simply pointing out that your lifestyle choices do reflect in your appearance. I see that in myself, whenever I start eating more junk I might not get fat, but I notice a change in my skin and muscle tone.
Celebrities are human, and believe it or not, you are what you eat. At a young age your body might be more forgiving of bad eating habits, but when you’re nearing 30, you really can tell who’s eating right and who isn’t.
Yes, you might say Jessica wasn’t meant to be skinny and shouldn’t be starving herself, but that’s not even my point! She can reverse the aging process by eating the right things! Because right now she looks aged beyond her years.

Speaking as someone who has dealt with an eating disorder, both losing too much weight and then getting on the chubbier side than I would like (I’m now healthy and in very good shape), I know what it’s like to be heavier for your size and unhappy about it, yet trying to justify it and accept that you will probably look like that for the rest of your life, but it’s just not true! She doesn’t have to give in to being heavy for her frame. She should be happy in her skin, but that doesn’t mean she can’t work out and eat healthier. We know she hasn’t always looked like this, but she was NEVER too skinny. I’m just saying, she can do better and it wouldn’t be that hard for her to drop the weight. It’s probably emotional eating more than anything.

.. Well. In actual fact, this is in between. Not at all fat but not thin either. She is below the average size in the US. It’s strange how you’d say that she specifically eats fried and cheesy foods and doesn’t exercise. I will assume that you know little about fitness and weight loss. Don’t be so self-righteous.

The hair color is beautiful on her, and I like the make up and dress, but do wish it were a couple inches shorter. I think it would be more flattering if it hit just below the knee. Its a good dress style for her though, flatters her curves.
totally agree! her face looks so beautiful, her hair absolutely looks perfect (color and style). she looks softer than usual, in a good way. when her hair is too blonde, she is too tan, and her make up is too heavy, even though she is extremely beautiful, it can play off her in the worst way and make her strong features look a bit harsh.
the dress gives her a nice shape…but i also think it would look so much better if it stopped just under the knee. she’s a small girl and i think the fabric overwhelms her and might add weight to her bottom half at that length. plus she has unbelievable legs and should show them off! her arms also look nice and toned.
Such a huge change from a few years ago. To me, the weight does not suit her. For some women weight gain does, but for her, it doesn’t. She looked better thinner. I wouldn’t call her fat, that’s extreme, but she is rather chubby/homely now. I do feel like she’s letting herself go.
I think her body time (kinda chubby arms) is unfortunate. SHe´s not fat but she could use some toning

I’ll agree with a part. I preferred her a wee bit slimmer. Not Daisy Dukes days really, but a little slimmer than this. But that’s just my preference.
See, I feel like Jessica is like one of the hot girls from high school that you were so jealous of, and you see them a few years later and realize there isn’t really anything to be jealous about because they have let themselves go. Jessica’s prime days were definitely her “Newlyweds”/”Dukes of Hazzard” days…I do not think that she is fat, but with some motivation she could be so hot again! On the plus side, her shoes on her shoe line are always super cute though!

and i can see that she is happy.. she is happy because now her life is esier(she can eat more), and she is happy with her weight, but if she was skinnier she would be much happier..
i can understand her, and if she gets atention, love, respect with this body then she can live like this.. but within 10 lb she would have more..

I’m sorry guys, but do you really think she was better off starving herself to get into the Dasy dukes? She looks pretty and healthy here, and you’ve got no idea about what she’s eating. Not everyone is naturally skinny and it just might be that Jess isn’t either, it’s just that she’d been eating poorly and exercising non-stop to be up to the “standards” of Hollywood
How do you know she was starving herself, or are you just assuming it? If it’s based simply on assumptions, then the other argument (that she used to follow a healthy diet and exercized regularly and now she isn’t), is equally valid. The truth is, nobody knows either way, but people have a bias to think the way that you do.
All I will say is that she has stated that in times of stress, she looks to food for comfort, and her marriage has recently ended. Take that as you wish.
But I agree with you, she doesn’t look unhealthy here, and it’s not fair to assume so. The body can cope with a variety of weights…it’s not like you automatically stop being healthy just because you gained a few or lost a few. And it’s unfair for anyone to assume such a thing when they are not her doctors. The only thing they could say is she doesn’t look as good.
Jessica has stated in numerous interviews that trying to maintain that Daisy Dukes weight was unhealthy for her. It is clearly not her natural body type! I think it is silly for any of you to assume that she is now just sitting around not exercising and eating junk food all day. I see paparazzi photos of her all the time leaving the gym so obviously none of that is accurate. I do think she looked more beautiful a few years ago but for some reason I do not think it is the weight. Something changed with her face and I don’t find her as beautiful as I once did. I do not think she is fat AT ALL nor do I think she feels bad about herself at this weight. That of course is only my opinion but to me her high self esteem seems genuine.
she wasn’t married recently! she was married years ago and divorced YEARS ago. she broke up with tony romo fairly recently. but even that was probably at LEAST half a year ago and they were not married. not even engaged!

i watched her on letterman last night and i was disappointed. she came off as really annoying and desperate in my opinion. I like the whole look she was going for but i don’t think it worked on camera. the dress was really unflattering
1. I don’t think that dress is the right length for her, it should be shorter.
2. There is something really weird going on with that last picture… I’m not sure what, but something about her position is just odd.
i think there are some women that can be a little bit chubby and they look gorgeous, just like her…it depends which kind of body, for example Angelina Jolie, that has a not good shape if she gain a lot of weight she will look terrible because she doesn`t have waist good legs etc…in the case of this kind of body like Jessica Simpson she can have more pounds and she still looks in good shape, smaller waist etc..

I have always thought she is beautiful and I love her hair color it reminds me of her younger years when she first started her career. I have nothing good to say about her body. She looksold and matronly and she must really love high calorie foods because she doesn’t have to look this way and feel sorry for her because she can not be happy at this weight.She could lose 15 pounds and look awesome.

I have no personal problem with her weight. I just question her words about her size on Oprah. Size 4 to 6? She doesn’t look like she’d be a 4 to 6 but bigger. But hey, I haven’t felt up her waist and booty, so I could be wrong about how they fit into clothes.

I could definitely believe her being a 4 to 6 – I’m a 6, she’s a little bit shorter than I am, and she looks a little bit slimmer than me.
Yes, it’s an unflattering dress (remember the mom jeans? maybe she should get a new stylist??), but she is in no way fat. People who criticize celebrities who aren’t so skinny you can count their ribs are a large part of the reason for the devastatingly low self-esteem many young girls grow up with.
Also, for the record, exercising and eating well does not automatically equal a size 0.
I agree completely. I’m also a 6 and I’m a teeny bit shorter and my hips come off about as wide as hers. Either way though, I’m a 6 all day long and a 4 when I’m lucky. In my opinion, when you’re a certain size, you can relate to celebrities that are the same or similar size because you know what your size looks like. I also agree, she’s not fat, and it’s tragic when people perceive her that way.

She has clearly gained weight. It’s easy to do. She’s probably in a healthy weight range for her height. However, she needs a new stylist. Someone who knows how to flatter her body type. The dress in this picture is too long for her. It needs to be over the knee. Also she needs to wear more v-necks as this would give the illusion that she’s taller. Also it looks like she carries her weight in her arms, chest and face. So capped sleeves are just not flattering on her. She also needed a wider band on the dress to make it look like she has more of a waist.
A lot of people seem to know Jessica personally as they really now she does nothing but eat junk all day. Really,can you hear yourselves? If she was overweight, yes, i could understand these comments. But their sole basis is the fact she’s not a 20 yr old blonde bimbo anymore, but rather looks like a full grown woman who happens not to be the same size anymore. That’s it. You don’t like her? Fine. what I really love about these pictures is that jessica shows she can be strong and healthy and that that has nothing to do with being a size 0. if you look at her arms, yes they are not skinny, but they have tone and muscle to them. The bottom line is the girl i not a model. It is not her job to be stick thin. I am glad that she can show us what a healthy, beautiful, real woman can look like. And really, ask your boyfriends, because I dont know how many men will EVER complain about her figure! she is a mans dream. I’d like to believe the stuff in your post because it sounsd nice, but it’s just bs.
1) Her arms don’t have tone to them. They have muscle, sure, but so does every arm ever. There is no tone there.
2) On the contrary, men do complain about her new figure, sadly. If you go on more men friendly websites like Moe Jackson, most men think she has let herself go. And that’s a nice version of what is being said.
3) She’s not a model so you’re right, she shouldn’t be stick thin. And she never was. However, she’s a celebrity who has built her popularity over having a good body, so people do expect her to have a good body. That doesn’t mean a size 0, but here she looks average, and while that’s fine if she was an average person, for a celebrity, people expect more.
4) Just like people don’t know whether she is unhealthy or stuffing her face with junk food, you don’t know if she’s healthy. She says she comfort eats. She just had a divorce. Statements about health either way are nothing but assumptions.
I don’t like the dress but I like the jacket, A LOT! As far as her figure goes, this is probably closer to her natural shape than her Daisy Duke days. She has repeatedly said that she over exercised and ate no carbohydrates during the filming of Duke’s of Hazard. Her current weight is not considered attractive by Hollywood standards and I think she would look her best if she lost maybe 5 lbs. I don’t think she will ever get back to her lowest weight because it’s not really her body type and that is okay.

There was a good reason that women wearing wiggle dresses in the 1950s (and us vintage girls today) wore shapewear underneath. Spanx just don’t cut it when you’re trying to go for that “va va voom” figure. Unless you’re born with it, you definitely need something underneath a dress like this to put everything in the right place.
I think she’s gorgeous but needs better suited underwear if she’s going to try for a 1950s or early-1960s look. What Katie Did and Rago both do fabby retro underwear that looks glam (the former is regularly featured in fashion magazines over here in the UK and occasionally elsewhere in Europe).

as someone who is about jessica’s height and size (and that is a size 6 in womens, size 10 in juniors), i do consider myself fat. my diet is pretty darn healthy; i am vegan and i also eat gluten-free and sugar-free. i eat vegetables, mostly. however, due to starving myself all throughout high school, i now have a crap metabolism and even though i go walking for about and hour every day, i will never get fit unless i work out constantly at the gym, which i can’t bring myself to do. i wouldn’t be surprised if this was the same boat jessica was in. sucks!!!

Did you watch the david letterman show? Go on youtube and watch it. She said that after the whole mom-jeans photo came out instead of becoming anorexic she just decided to eat more. that isn’t healthy either. You really can’t judge someone’s health by simply how they look on the outside. But there was a time (not her super skinny), where you could see some real muscles on her arms and legs. that showed she was working out at least, it’s hard to tell now but if she doesn’t exericse she will soon regret it, after 30 it’s hard to keep thin and eat all the time for most women. on letterman she was talking about enjoying all her fried foods. Again, not healthy!
