Curvy Jessica Simpson in Horizontal Stripes

Here’s Jessica Simpson at the AT&T National golf tournament yesterday (she was there to sing the National Anthem), wearing a figure-hugging dress with horizontal stripes. Her figure actually looks curvy in this dress, it hugs her hips and enhances them and she doesn’t look particularly V-shaped here. I think she looks really hourglassy-hot in the last pic!
Do you think that this dress is the right choice for Jessica’s shape?
P.S.: I like her flat, straight hair better – she’s got lots of volume (read boobs) on top, so this hair suits her better.

It’s not your body to judge. Go worry about your own body. It was stated she had to eat a 1200 calorie diet and work out two hours a day six days a week to have that body you so loved. She proclaimed it was mentally destructive and led to depression. No one should be in pain mentally or physically so you can enjoy looking at their body. She is not your object, she is not your commodity. You have nothing invested in her. Worry about yourself.

Maryna- You totally were NOT being mean. I agree that she looked better in her daisy duke days. It’s not that I think she SHOULD have that body when it obviously would be killer to keep it up when your body isn’t naturally thin but still she looked amazing then.
She has a great figure but a she does look a little heavy here. Sorry to say. The horizontal stripes aren’t helping. As long as she’s happy, then good for her.

Goodness woman, pull that steel rod out of your butt and don’t take life so seriously. Geeze, I mean right above where you’re writing your profound thoughts it says “Speak Your Mind”… that’s all people are doing. I like her figure and agree that her hips benefit from the stripes and balance out her large bust. But also, her waist appears wider, so all in all I’d say it’s not flattering. Besides, I don’t like the colours.

I think she looks really good here, very curvy, stripes really broaden her bottom half although they make her breasts look enormous…not a really a bad thing I’ll admit.

I don’t think the dress is the most flattering thing she could have chosen, but her hair and face are beautiful. I am also cracking up at the two military men trying to get a quick look at her great bust in the first pic. Very cute and shows what men really like.
I think she looks great in these pictures. Not only does she look lusciously curvy, but these are great pictures. The photog and person who assembled this particular series should be commended. There’s so much character here, from the sly smile and shy glance from the older and younger military men (respectively) to her playfully punching the golfer(?) to her obvious nervousness around her performance. Even the last shot of her turning off her stage persona is really striking because it adds extra dimension.

Funny how you are the only one to comment on something other than her body; I really do believe that women (for want of a better word) perv more on woman’s bodies than men do these days!
I am a guy (probly 90-95% hetero). And I may be in the minority, but I know I’m not alone in thinking that even sexiness in a woman is a whole package, not just a body. The best thing for a woman to do is to figure out what her strengths are, and play to them. Confidence is always sexy.
“perv” is a good word, or “fetishize.” I am shocked and frightened sometimes at how negative these posts can be, especially whenever weight gets mentioned.

It’s sexism pure, plain and simple. Women are raised to believe their value rest solely in their physically beauty as opposed to any other contribution they might bring to the world. Jessica Simpson is a singer. Honestly IMHO, she’s a terrible singer. Her rhythm goes to hell and her ability to hold pitch is questionable. Why does no one talk about that? Instead it’s just her body. Oh she gained five pound! Etc, etc. I believe many of these commenters are simple trying to raise themselves up by cutting this woman down. “She’s chunky so therefore i am the better object”. fguhh – I have read some of your answers and I respect your opinion, however I must point out that you are being quite hypocritical. You wont let others nicely state that they preferred her figure in her Daisy Duke days, yet you state that in your opinion she is a terrible singer. So you are actually being quite harsh in the way you express your opinion, whereas the people who said they preferred her in her Daisy Duke days simply stated it respectfully…How come you are allowed to have an opinion (in this case, negative) on her singing, and yet others arent allowed to have an opinion on her looks? That doesnt make any sense. If you are going to try to stop letting others voice their opinions then you better stop voicing your own too.
In my opinion, Jessica has always been a pretty girl. From her Daisy Duke days to now. I must say in my own opinion a thinner body is my ideal…BUT, if its true like you said that she had to starve herself and over exercisize to achieve that then it is much better for her to be the size she is now. And her current body is probably the ideal for a lot of people.
This site is called skinnyvscurvy and since you have a problem with the fact that people arent blind and thus can see how others look and have an opinion on it, please leave. Most comments I have read on here have been quite respectful. Just like we are alloewd to have opinions about a president or music why not looks? I think she looks better head-on than from the side. I don’t like the dress, but I still think she looks pretty.
I don’t think she is too big. Looking at her frame, she’s built quite stocky and I believe she is at a healthy weight for her body type. Her stomach pops out a little when you see her from the side, but I don’t see rolls and that tiny bit is obviously not enough to classify her as being near overweight. She looks good to me.

God she looks SO hot in that dress! I think she’d look even better if she filled it out more – like about 20 pounds more! Very flattering dress, but the hem line is way too long. That thing in a mini-version would be devastatingly hot on her!

I think her figure is lovely, its easy to get a distorted idea of what a ‘healthy’ woman looks like, a lot of celebs are on the edge of, if not underweight for their height. Jessica is a great role model for ‘healthy’ and its a shame some people label her as big/fat/huge etc. She’s nowhere near overweight, which is just as bad as underweight imo! Dont like her outfit though, it could be so nice in a different length/colour etc

that dress is ugly on her body and the red is too harsh for her skintone. in the close-up’s she looks an hourglass, but the 2. pic IMO shows that the dress is the wrong length for her, and it doesn’t look that flattering from the side either. How ever, it’s so snug that it shows her body beautifly (i mean i can see her body is gorge but i still don’t like how the dress sits on her). Nice body, dress not so nice.
I don’t care for the dress on her. Horizontal stripes don’t look good on a curvy figure IMO. Yes, she’s gained some weight, but she’s still attractive. She could stand to lose a few pounds but the Daisy Duke days are gone. It would be so difficult for her to maintain that weight for a long period of time because of her naturally curvy body. If she lost 5 to 10 lbs, she would love absolutely stunning. But anymore than that, should would lose her gorgeous curves.

well, I think she looks really good and her body also looks good, very curvy, not apple-shaped, but actually hourglassy. The only minus is the jewelries I don´t like (doesn´t really go along with the dress) and the obvious fake tan.
Well you gotta admit though, the pictures on skinnywebsite are from angles that are a lot more flattering than these. If the admin had posted these exact same photos, I’m sure the reaction would have been way, way worse.
Anyway, I don’t think the dress is flattering at all. Horizontal stripes are an obvious no-no, and the colors, pattern and shape of the dress are basically overpowering her, bringing our eyes directly to the largest parts of her, instead of her smaller waist or her pretty face and hair.
Body-wise she’s bigger than what I would personally want to be, but she still looks good and happy (and healthy, lol at the person who said she gained so much she looks unhealthy), so good for her.

I am not a fan of a heavier or thicker figure, but I must say Jessica look good here… she looks refreshing and her outfit shows good taste for the occasion. I could so picture her traveling with Bob Hope in that outfit..
