Jennifer Love Hewitt Is “A Work in Progress”
June 17, 2010 in Celebrity Quotes, Jennifer Love Hewitt by Versus

On the advice she gives to younger girls:
“When I meet young girls, I’m always like, ‘Just do me one favor- Love what you look like right now – and remember I said it 10 years from now because it’s the greatest gift I can give.’”

On her unflattering bikini pictures from a while back:
“I think I’m a work in progress. [But] I feel it’s so much better than [it was] a year-and-a-half ago, and I feel like in another eight months, it’s going to be so much better than it is today.”
… says Jennifer.

first!!!!!
she loooks gooooooooood
Always looks stunning in clothes, not so good bikini or nude. A lot of us can relate =[
She does look good now and I believe she used to look good before (IMO before she became “size 2/4″ as she claimed). But she is sending such strange messages like “embrace your curves” 1 year and a half ago, now she is all slimming down person. She sounds like a hypo.
Totally. She got caught being fat and was all back peddling between cream puffs talk about be happy with who you is. Now that she got off her ass and stopped falling asleep with candy bars in her mouth, she’s all it’s really healthy to be skinny. WHATEVER!
“I feel like in another eight months, it’s going to be so much better than it is today.”
I hope she means just toning and not weight loss. She looks good the way she is right now, I don’t want to see her any thinner. Anyways, I think she looks pretty fit now also, I don’t see why she thinks she needs improvement.
She looks good now and in my opinion she even looked good when those bikini pictures surfaced – maybe just a little more “next door neighbor” than “hollywood star”. But this so called advice is kind of sad to me because between the lines I read just this: “I wasn’t happy with the way I looked back then and I’m not happy now. I’ll never be happy with it.”
I think she tries hard to be happy with herself but she’s not. I kind of get it, unfortunately.
Same here…
you tell it girly friend!! I dont know why she is giving advice because she doesnt even like her own body BASICALLY!
When those photos came out she tried to pretend like she was proud of her body..but now its a different story.
Yea, same thing happened with Tyra, right? She goes “So What!” and then runs off and loses 30 lbs…
lol, right. “Kiss my fat ass! …just wait til I lose 30.”
it could be too, that when she saw the old pictures of herself in the bikini, that it was a wake up call. Living in the moment, she might not have thought she was the size she was until she saw herself in a photo. I think she has really transformed her body, and she looks fantastic. I remember her being really tiny back in the day, in Heartbreakers and I Know What You Did Last Summer…I hope she isn’t make that her goal weight. She looks really great at this size.
“When I meet young girls, I’m always like, ‘Just do me one favor- Love what you look like right now – and remember I said it 10 years from now because it’s the greatest gift I can give.’”
I think this is speaking of how critical women are on their bodies. When girls are young, their biggest worries are the boys chasing them at recess, not their fat thighs or love handles.
I’m so trying to figure out if that “advice” actually has some wisdom behind it or just superficiality. I just have the feeling of words put together and scrambled… and ta-da! a phrase!
i feel the same way. it’s kind of twisted? i don’t like the ‘greatest gift i can give’ part. didn’t she recently say she wished she could look like gisele bundchen? so much for her advice.
anyway, i think she looks nice in the first picture. but she kind of needs to fade out, she’s such a hasbeen.
I don’t think celebs try to be wise in quotes — they’re just humans who say random things and then the media captures it forever lol… one of those costs of being famous. THe rest of us can say any old thing and then say something different tomorrow, but we don’t have the media to be calling it out every single time.
That’s true, however she’s been famous for a while, she knows what impact her words might have. Besides, what does she mean by young girls? It can be anywhere from a 13 yr old (even younger) to a 20 yr old. If she means teenagers, then that’s the most stupidest (!) advice I’ve ever heard (because of the natural growing process).
I can relate. I try to be happy with the way i look, but there comes the days when i can’t help but feel a bit stressed or annoyed. Also, i think a lot of celebs, perhaps her included, when they say “embrace your curves” mean they try and be happy with them, but that they still would feel better if they slimmed down a bit. (In the case where curves means what Jen had for example, not when it’s just boobs and butt) At least that has been true to me when i’ve gained weight, only once i’ve been able to feel quite confident and pretty at my size at the time have i been able to begin to slim down without panicking, in a natural way. I think she looked fine before, but better now. I agree with annalee, i hope she doesn’t mean weight loss speaking of 8 months, but rather inner peace and maybe muscle tone etc.
She’s living proof that trials make you stronger.
Love her! I like her quotes alot.
Well I think the advice that she is giving is honest. She wants everyone to be able to feel good about themselves, but has trouble doing it herself.
Celebrities aren’t always the rock of strength they appear to be. Everyone has their confident days and the days where they think everything is horrible about them. Especially us women, thanks to hormonal changes and people having the freedom to judge every inch of our bodies.
Basically, what I’m trying to say her flip-flopping on the issue is less about deception (she’s not making up fun quotes to say because they sound good), but more about the fact that her own opinion on the topic fluctuates.
I agree. What else could she say when those pictures came out? “Yeah, I’m fat and working on it.” Nobody would do that. And it is always easier to advise other people to feel good about themselves.
I actually think it’s really great that she’s not stick thin, but I can imagine it must be hard not being it when you’re in the spotlight like this. Do we need another stick-thin workoutholic? nooo. I hope she stays the way she is.
Yikes! Not a fan of the bikini-from-behind picture!
Well that was a pic from a couple of years back, she’s been working out and dropping body fat since then.
I think it’s important to have a caption next to the bikini pictures stating “2008″.
So from her comment I assume she’s still trying to lose weight? She looks pretty thin, she’s a pear so I don’t know what results she wants,
I always thought I was a pear and I used relate so much to her, when these 2008 pics came out, I understood her position of ‘embrancing her curves’ she is a pretty girl and I bet her weight changed just a little, but as a true pear it went down to her booty and legs. she should find a comfort zone and stick with it, we all know skinny does not comes natural on her!
I think anyway she has ever looked has always looked good on her. She is a nice role model, how says, hey, be happy with your body, love it and respect it.
This woman clearly has the IQ of a rubber duck. As such, it’s hard to take any words that come out of her mouth as credible or serious. She should team up with Jessica Simpson on her next book. They could call it “I’m Not Fat, I Love My Body: How to Diet but NOT Because You Want to Lose Weight. Because You Love Your Body. Like Totally.”
yea, she does look super hot again.
Wow practice what you preach. She sounds so hypocritical here.
It’s insane how much we obsess over perfection, look at old art, images of feminity and you can see how warped we are.
She shouldn’t be ashamed of those photos, she looks beautiful all the time
i dont think she is a pear. She is an hour glass and she is a gorgeous girl. Totally in love with ghost whisperer!
I think she’s an hourglass too, and she looks great now…the bikini pics were terrible.
