Jennifer Lopez Brings the Quote of the Day
May 5, 2010 in Beauty & Body Image, Celebrity Quotes, Jennifer Lopez by Versus

“I was always very comfortable with who I was. Confident. I’ve never looked at myself [my body] in a negative way. Just like anybody I try to watch what I eat – there’s no big science to it, which is what sucks. One of the good tricks is to have a goal – for me it may be getting in shape for a video shoot. The other is portion control. I love to eat everything and you pretty much can – a little piece of something fattening is not going to kill you. It’s when you eat the whole box that it’s going to kill you. If you can learn to not eat till your stomach feels full and gross, then you can pretty much control your life in that area.”
… says Jennifer in Marie Claire.

I love love love JLo. And her quote surprised me. She sounds very smart (when has she become so wise?!)and it is the best attitude to life overall. She was and is sexy because of her confidence that is true. Because beauty standards are relevant, but confidence is attractive always.
She has always been smart IMO, she hasn’t been taken seriously before that’s all.
haha, interesting comment if you consider the plastic surgery she got.
What plastic surgery did she get? Did I miss something?
Yeah .. what plastic surgery did she get? Never heard of JLo’s surgery….
I don’t think she has had plastic surgery. If you look at her young pictures, you can see that it’s all been there. The only difference is her face got angular as she aged, but that happens to a lot of people. They lose the baby fat on their face as they get older.
All she had done was her nose a tiny tiny bit a long time ago. Geez!
Probably her nose, wasn’t it?
Nose and cheeks for sure.
agreed
never heard she got plastic surgery. she sounds a lot smarter than i gave her credit for. she has always been a gorgeous woman right back to when she was appearing in the background of music videos. it is easier to be confident if you are gorgeous, but i know a lot of people who are very confident and nowhere near the ideal of beauty. i envy that so much.
shes so right!
The only thing I’ve known J.Lo to be a wee bit uncomfortable with was the size of her booty, especially around “In Living Color” days. But go girl. Do your thing. She looks great, and I’m not aware of her having any plastic surgery either.
I agree.
The insecurity is rife on here lol!
Stop hating! Love yourselves like Jennifer here.
All magazines photoshop. The first picture looks odd. Like it is another model.
Oh for goodness sake, I’m sick of hearing celebrities going on about how you just have to eat in moderation, like it’s some pearl of wisdom, it’s pretty freakin’ obvious! It doesn’t make you smart knowing it, it just makes you not a total dumbass!
Yeah she looks great but too many magazines are printing interviews with very similar quotes from different celebrities right now.
Celebrities better start saying boring stuff like that. Do you how many women starve themselves just to lose a pound? Or take dangerous pills?
It’s just that celebrities can reach more people and are listened to more than people close to us, because they represent a model, perfection, if you like.
Is that supposed to be hair on her head in the first picture?
I believe that in top of her had its a turban with a jewel detail …..and that there is hair coming out of the turban…
” I try to watch what I eat – there’s no big science to it, which is what sucks. ” TRUE
I agree with her, but like 10 celebrities have said that in the past week.
It’s kind of interesting beacuse I really feel like all of them think they sound really smart when saying it.
But I guess it’s the questions that gets asked of them.
the hair looks weird in the first pic.maybe it’s the photoshop

The magazine photoshops her nose to make it look different. insecurity is a not healthy.
anyone else find the magazine cover to be a blatant oxymoron: “LOVE YOUR BODY… and here are 3 ways to change it”
Gee, I wonder why so many girls and women can’t accept their body for what it is- pale, tan, freckled, thin, thick, short or tall. There are some things you just can’t change and it is truly releasing when you can start to accept your body the way it naturally is.
Haha I guess they mean we can love our bodies when they are sufficiently fake tanned with impeccable skin and in perfect shape. These magazines make their fortune from destroying women’s self esteem.
