On being considered “the bigger model”:
Well, I’m a bit better now, but I was pretty self-conscious about it a few months ago because everybody kept going on like, “Oh, she’s so curvy!” and “She’s a plus-size model!” and this and that. It’s all people would talk about-how I’m not very skinny. For a while, it made me pretty upset and I got a bit obsessive about it. I did a bunch of dieting and exercising and everything. I was losing weight, but I was still much bigger than everybody else. I didn’t really see the point of making myself crazy anymore, so I kind of toned it down a little bit.

I’m so happy that she is in better place because so many people putting unnecessary emphasis can make you go crazy…..thus is the perils of being a model. She’s not fat in fact she’s a size 4 and I don’t think she is that curvy. She has a feminine venus de milo figure yet at least to me she has big boobs but hips and very thin legs and small thighs. Versus what shape is she?
I think she’s a vase – big boobs, somewhat curvy hips, waist definition, proportionate, slim legs, just not as curvy as an hourglass.
All recent posts are making me think we are facing the new era in modeling, I mean like 80-90s are back. I hope I am not wrong and it is so. I am missing super hot toned but with curves models we used to see in 80-90s. I think most men will agree.

I agree this is definitely the Heroin Chic era in the modeling world.
I think that what people like most on her it’s her unusual face, her body is hot, but most of her covers/pics/etc shows her face.
The bad part it’s that models with unusual faces lose appeal fast . I hope this wont happen with Lara because I love her .
I don’t think we are facing the new era of modeling, not yet, see the runway pics from New york fahion week, even São Paulo Fashion Week (from Brazil) had a lot of skinny model (even for bikini brands) and brazilians love curvy (like really curvy) womens, but they are not used as models.
I know – NYFW was permeated with very thin models but some designers like zac posen chose fuller-figured models (Coco Rocha included).
Lara is listed as No 1 on the Top 50 Models list on models.com – I hope that counts for something and that the industry is taking a step towards bringing back healthy figures to the runway!
Lara’s beauty is unusual but she is gorgeous nonetheless. I’m so happy she chose sanity.
I’m glad she is getting work even as a size 4 model, and has stopped herself from stressing out about it, but to me she will never be attractive regardless of what size she is. I think she has a rather plain face for a model. Even Bar has more to look at face-wise.
Sad that she was ever considered “big”. I personally don’t find her very attractive in the face but she is no way a “plus-size” model.
She is no way big! Its so crazy that she would think that but I can totally understand as some of her contemporaries are so small. I really hope we are seeing a return to the 80s-90s shape in modelling but only time will tell….
She looks great and according to love magazine (where she was naked) her measurements are VERY similar to other models, even smaller in the case of her waist (22)

her waist is not 22; not in a billion years. I understand you must have no clue how that would look like, but still, common sense. I actually googled, and she is listed with a 24″ waist. But those measurements – which, yes, you are correct – are the same as most models – are probably old. She did say she gained that weight she has troubles with. Usually models have their measurements taken at the start of their career, when they are listed, and they remain the same regardless what’s going on with the model.
i personally think Lara Stone looks great and i love her unusual facial features. She is weird beautiful, and in my freaky mind, that’s the best there is.
well i was sceptical because my waist is 23 and i look bonyer than her (with no boobs though ha)

Oh, sorry than, i understood you believed the 22 waist not that you were skeptical. Yes, and you are right, they might as well lie all the time, all models are listed with almost identical measurements, no matter what they look like.
