Slim? She is very skinny and unattractive
OK this ‘too skinny’ thing is getting to be a bit ridiculous…its like any person that is fit with low body fat % gets the ‘too skinny’ comment slapped at them. I beginning to think jealousy is involved. Some of them that get that comment are much deserving (tori spelling, v beckham), but this chick is just TONED AND MUSCULAR…barely any body fat but comes from what you can tell is hard work and exercise. Not eating disorders or starving.
Sorry, I just think calling this chick ‘too skinny’ and ‘unattractive’ is wayyy out to lunch. She is as fit as you can be pretty much, and far from unattractive ither. I spy a green eye
I hope society doesnt go to the OTHER end of the spectrum now…where anyone who is even remotely slim and in shape is criticized for being ‘too skinny’. Its like the world doesnt even know what ‘healthy’ is anymore. These obese women who are touting the ‘curvy’ thing are just as bad (since when is obese healthy either. Call it curvy if you will, its just as bad as being underweight).
Well I think that you prob. look like that yourself and you therefore feel the need to defend yourself. And I write too skinny if I want to, and why in the world would I or anyone want a body like that?
And I write that someone is gorgeous all the time to both slim and curvy girls.
And you need to go back to school if you think being curvy is as bad as being underweight.
And you should stop defending yourself, its not very attractive.
And Anya, it’s a little unfair and insulting to say that a person must look a certain way and that’s why they feel the need to defend a person that is being what they see as unfairly criticized. I’m no where near being skinny or have the body of a boy, but I still think it is wrong to insult a slim woman. It’s ok to not have that as your preference, but seriously, do you need to be insulting about it?
totally agree with you. i think she’s beautiful and fit
actually, I look nothing like that. I’m a size 10 on a good day. But thanks for assuming, all the same
I just read all these comments all the time where they take a woman, who in some cases is even an ATHLETE or something, and call her too skinny and gorss. yet the woman in the pic is the one that eats a healthy non processed diet and spends time exercising. And she is the one who gets criticized. it just doesnt make a whole lot of snese to me is all I’m saying. Why are we knocking women who obviously train and have a healthy routine.
I’d have to agree. Lots of women are getting very unfair treatment for when they should be getting positive remarks for caring for their bodies and wanting to be healthy and fit. Sure some women diet unhealthily, but just because you are athletic, it doesn’t automatically mean you are unhealthy.
well it’s not attractive when you go around talking trash about skinny women thinking they’re too “skinny” when she’s not even that skinny. she’s an attractive girl with a great body. you act like as if a chick doesn’t have any ass or breasts then she’s not healthy or unattractive and that’s insulting. and i think what the girl meant that chicks who throw around the word curvy when they’re not. kim kardashian is curvy, beyonce is curvy because they have that shape but the ones that don’t look like beyonce is not curvy. anya you always seem to insult slim women because they don’t have the look you’re looking for and that wrong. that’s why women that’s skinny gets so defensive because what gives someone the right to put someone just because they’re bodies aren’t what we like and not skinny chicks are shaped like boys because that is also insulting. maybe you need to stop insulting skinny women because it’s not cool.
IMO, women aren’t supposed to have a low body fat %. I wouldn’t say this lady is too thin/skinny, but I don’t think she should be this thin/skinny with that much muscle tone. She looks a little harsh and hard, needs to soften up. I’m not impressed by her at all.
no. in the real world (im jk im no doctor!) but im my EXSS class in college girls are supposed to have more body fat% bc duh we make babies..lol unless like athletes of course but they also dont have periods or thet have really light ones…anyway
“These obese women who are touting the ‘curvy’ thing are just as bad (since when is obese healthy either. Call it curvy if you will, its just as bad as being underweight).”
ERRRRMMMMM, maybe you should state what you mean when you say ‘curvy’, ’cause not all the women I say are curvy are in any way, shape, or form unhealthily overweight, and I don’t see how “curvy” is as bad as a woman being underweight. Don’t stoop to insulting to defend your views, please.
Hmm… I don’t think she is “very skinny”. Thin, yes, but not overly so. To me, someone can’t be “very skinny” and THIS fit at the same time.
But it’s OK if we don’t all agree
I agree. There is sth about her body that makes her look too skinny and well: totally unattractive. Her body seems to be just muscles and bones.
I think she is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
she’s pretty, but they could have picked someone a little more interesting…she looks like a barbie doll.
i second that . .shes very pretty but it’s abit boring the blonde, blue eyes, orange glow and fake(??) boobs look . . .i wouldn’t say no to having her body though
i third that
she is gorgeous and extremely fit
she is pretty, but I think she would look better if her hair was a little darker, it almost looks like a wig in the the bikini pics.
mdw- I agree on a certain level. She is thin, but you can tell its because she works out and has a good deal of muscle. But I don’t think anyone here would look at an obese person and call them curvy….and I don’t think most people who are clinically obese would call themselves curvy. Granted, being too skinny or obese are serious problems, but different people have different ideas of what beautiful is, so maybe Miss USA is too skinny for some.
Bad Nose job + boob job + cleavage makeup + bleached teeth + fake tan + fake blond + (I also suspect) cheek implants because a skinny girl like her would have gone all gaunt and flat in the first place.
Maybe they choose her because barbie is turning 50 this year???
Tinkerbell you are a joker. I like you.
lol you’re hilarious!
Juicy comment, tinkerbell!
Actually this is Kristen’s natural color..I’ve know Kristen since middle school and graduated with her and she has always been that blonde, and no she has not had a nose job.
I don’t like her pounds of make up nothing natural I do prefer Miss france with light make up almost natural
i think she’s cute and super fit, but pretty artificial. but it’s miss usa, so you can’t expect much else.
Took the words right out of my mouth!
Overall she’s a beautiful girl. However I’m sure there are soo many awesome and more natural looking girls that could reprent the typical American beauty way better than she does…. gasp!
I mean “represent” the typical US beauty
I think she looks like the typical dull blond type… of course she’s got a great body but her face: nothing out of the ordinary, i dont find her elegant nor “special” i bet there are more beautiful women out there in America…
killer body but there is absolutely nothing natural about her face
Yes, gorgeous body, but the face is too Barbie-like, doll-like. And one more thing: her eyes do not express anything to me.
Still, the body… amazing!
she is so boring, nothing is original and only 1.70.
Good body but looks closer to 30 than 20!
Mdw you nailed it! Anya has made it beyond obvious in all her posts that she is insecure and seeks to taint peoples mind into thinking that you have to be ridcously curvy and overweight to be womanly and attractive and healthy. All the women she commends are borderline overweight, and With 1 out of 5 americans being obese it would be wise for some people*cough*cough to be a bit more weight conscious, Anya. Jealousy is the cousin of greed. Learn to respect people who have better bodies than you, it’s pathethic how youu insecurities pour out when you make these riduclous comments. I mean I’m sure you must be sick of seing all tehse beautiful women who have bodies that bare no resmeblance to yours, being praised for it. Stop being jealous, get off your fat ass and on an eliptical and maybe you won’t be so snide and insecure!
How is this any better than Anya’s behavior?
“All the women she commends are borderline overweight”?
And who would that be, by chance? Not too many of the women on here that Versus has for “curvy” are overweight, let alone borderline.
“Learn to respect people who have better bodies than you, it’s pathethic how youu insecurities pour out when you make these riduclous comments.”
While I dislike the way Anya has to state her opinion, I wouldn’t say that all of the women she comments on has a body that could be called “better” than a supposed overweight woman’s body.
Some of the women on here that are praised for their bodies(and that Anya insults), IMO, shouldn’t be praised, they present an unhealthy image, being thinner than they should be.
sweetheart I feel so sorry for you. The only reason why you and other people gets to furious is because you all feel the need to defend your bodies because you are so jealous of womanly bodies.
And you need to get yourself an educated because you are embarrasing yourself with the comments you are making.
Yes I like normal women but I think the most gorgeous woman in the world is Charlize Theron and she is skinny/slim and I have tons of other women who are slim that are think are stunning. But if I prefer normal sizes people instead of those insects you see as your idols then I am allowed to do that.
And I am getting so sick of your comments, get a life and grop up and it is so obvious how insecure you are and don’t foget, an attack is always the best defence. So put it to rest and work on your body so that you finally can feel good about yourself.
I agree anya. You are intitled to your opinions and if you think this lady is too skinny then so be it. What gives some of you the right to praise “skinny” girls and insult “bigger” girls but anya isn’t intitled to do the same? I don’t get it. Contradiction there. Just because anya finds curvier or more shapely woman attractive dosen’t give you the right to insult her. Grow up already!
agreed, well said!
this isn’t a compare and contrast chart of our behavior, I’m not trying to play myself like some angel or a mediator, or let alone better than her. Secondly, thats your opinion, an opinion that is not so rampid in the modeling industry. There’s a reason these models/ actresses get paid the riduculous amounts of money they do to keep up their appearances. Lets face it no modeling agency is going to pay money for an overweight girl to model clothes, it just won’t sell. As terrible as it may sound, we are an extremely visual society whom places emphasis on glorifying thin, fit women. With this in mind, IMO they should be praised; as maintaining this ideal body is no easy task and requires presereverance and willpower. Also, I’m sorry the desirbaiity of an overweight woman’s body over a fat womans body shows no merit…laudable.
“Lets face it no modeling agency is going to pay money for an overweight girl to model clothes, it just won’t sell.”
Who’s trying to say the models need to be overweight? What’s wrong with models that are in the middle/upper of a healthy weight? And I think you are wrong in your assumption that clothes won’t sell on overweight models, stores like Lane Bryant, Torrid, and Hips and Curves have no problems selling their clothes, and they use models that are real life plus sized.
“As terrible as it may sound, we are an extremely visual society whom places emphasis on glorifying thin, fit women.”
I find it very sad that we emphasize and glorify only one type.
“With this in mind, IMO they should be praised; as maintaining this ideal body is no easy task and requires presereverance and willpower.”
Why should it be praised if someone is fighting their natural shape to have the “ideal body”? Why should it be shoved in our faces that there is only one “ideal body”?
“Also, I’m sorry the desirbaiity of an overweight woman’s body over a fat womans body shows no merit…laudable.”
I don’t understand what you are saying here.
I think that it is possbile to have a “debate” over different opinions without getting defensive or resulting to acting like middle school girls. Everyone has an opinion and everyone is entitled to their opinion. That being said, this is mine, bit lengthy but hey, I got somethin to say
I don’t care for the winners figure…but that is just my opinion. I think she has no waist-hip ratio and is too slender. I would want a healthy woman with curves in all the right places to be a “usa” role model. Her face…very fake looking, would like to see her without the layers on, sems you would need a paint scraper to scrape all that gunk off.
I think that Americas perception of “beauty” has been distorted over time. No disrespect to a fit slim HEALTHY woman, but having a soft feminine figure, you know the ample chest, full thighs and butt, with child-bearing hips and a soft tummy…used to be admired and praised “back in the day” men liked a “fertile” mate that sparked femininity! It has gone from having a woman on the cover of a magazine, who was “voluptous and womanly” who in a seated position could have a little “pudge” on her tummy, or who had gorgeous wide hips, to having it all airbrushed out to a stomach that is basically unrealistic, non-exsitant hips and an image that is for the average american woman, unrealistic.
We went from Cindy Crawford, 5’9″ and 130 pounds, which is very slim! to what, Miranda Kerr at 5’9″ and 106? and Marissa Miller, at 5’8″ and 110 (according to numerous various sources online) that actually gives a BMI that is medically underweight/unhealthy. I just don’t see how that is a goal to be desired and I certainly don’t want my daughter aspiring to reach that, nor any other young woman…women period.
fyi: The average American woman is 5’4″ tall and weighs 140 pounds, size 12-14, 33% at 16 or larger.
Measurements being 39-31-41, which I actually just studied in a class I am taking regarding the clothing market and marketing.
Models, and many “hollywood starlets”…Size: 0-4 Bust: 32-35 inches Waist: 22-25 inches Hips: 33-36 and an unhealthy weight by medical standards.
Being thin does not make a person healthier. A heavy person who eats nutritious food and exercises will live longer than a skinny person who doesn’t exercise and doesn’t eat well.
A ten-year study of the entire population of Norway revealed that people who were 20 to 35% above the ideal body weight lived longer . Another very controlled study, involving 7 countries over the course of 25 years, showed that the thinner people died sooner even than the most overweight people, despite blood pressure and high cholesterol
*Risks of having a lean-to-fat ratio of less than 22%:
Hormone imbalance (Fat tissues store hormones you need. Not enough fat = low estrogen) Risks of a hormone imbalance, Ovarian cancer Endometrial cancer, Osteoporosis, Infertility…
just sayin….
amen
i could not have said it better
106 lbs and 110 lbs?
Does that include the weight of the breast, cheeks and ass implants or is it the weight before all the implants?
Imagine one breast implant of 400cc and one butt implant of 450cc as well; that totals up to 1700cc or an extra 1.7 kgs/4 lbs – not including the cheeks, nose, chin and eyebrow implants.
Why did thinner people die sooner than most overweight people?
Did they get knocked down more often by the bus and they didn’t have enough “cushioning” go stop the impact??!
If its true what you are saying; most of the population of Asia and Europe would consist up of fat old people by now and the young thin ones die early… Japan has the largest population of centenarians and they all ain’t obese or even near to being fat….
actually i live in germany and have traveled throughout europe and europeans are not as thin as they used to be…they are catching up to American’s with being overweight. The Japanese eat very healthy and walk everywhere so that’s why they live so long. Celeyse i agree with everything you said. People think they are healthy because they can fit into a size 2. You can be bigger and still healthier then a person who weighs 115 pounds who starves themselves.
I meant to reply to the post above this that Tinkerbell wrote
oops! Yes America is getting ridiculously unhealthy!
I did not mention obesity…
Heres some information…I have studied all of this previously in college.
Those who are too thin or underweight, should not be assumed to be healthy and to have a longer life. You need a healthy heart !
A person who is a size “14″ and gets regular cardio/aerobic exercise that elevates their pulse is said to be healthier than a person wearing a size “2″, because that “thinner” person is sedentary and at a greater risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
Last year, researchers concluded that a 20-year-old man who was overweight or mildly obese on the BMI scale (25-40) would live on average to 78.8 years; an underweight counterpart (less than 18.5) will live to 77.5. (results included examinations from world famous Framingham Heart Study)
A new study regarding “who lives longer” began a few years ago when investigators used national data to look at death risks according to body weight. They concluded that, compared with people of NORMAL WEIGHT, the OVERWEIGHT had a DECREASED death risk and the UNDERWEIGHT and OBESE had INCREASED risk.
People who are too thin can be vulnerable to disease because they may have weakened immune systems…underweight and “too thin” women face side effects such as loss of menstrual cycle and decreased bone mass, leading to brittle bones and early signs of osteoporosis, and the others I mentioned in my first post. Women in all actuallity need a certain amount of body fat to maintain hormones. (Fat also absorbs calcium into the bones.)
We as Americans are becoming an unhealthy nation however, look at the serving size you get in every restaurant! it is ridiculous. We need to be more worried about not raising a generation of children who consume to much food, who are unhealthy, and who are not active.
One important thing I was trying to point out is that I do not want my daughter aspiring to be like all the underweight or too thin models and size 2 hollywood starlets, because that is what is often being portrayed as “hot” in the current society, and it is not healthy, and personally I don’t think that it is all that “hot”.
And you know, alot of polls that men have taken, state that the men “prefer” a woman with more meat…ya know, some nice hips, an ass…not many of them “prefer” to have a woman with a body that looks like a boys. Even in our skeletal structures, women have a wider pelvic area (our hips) than that of men. Make no mistake I am not “dissing” a woman with “no figure” just making statements;and all those are preferences anyways, can’t help who ya fall for
And to everyone posting…I don’t think that being smart or getting defensive makes for a mature discussion…
Wrote a reply, below…
She looks so…artificial. Nothing natural about her, except for great legs.
shes beautiful!!!!! she looks stunning. im glad she won!
and about her being artificial. is every blonde girl “artificial” now. i totally disagree. mostly all pageant gals get tanned.(even girls who are tanned already) its not her fault shes blondee with blue eyes. i would love to see a diverse and exotic woman as miss america, but this one sure deserves it as well. shes veryy beautiful!!
if you have natural blonde hair, good for you…..but it is pretty obvious that Miss America’s hair is NOT naturally blonde
Agree with the above comment. Yes, a blonde with dark roots is definitely artificial ….. because she obviously wasn’t born with it, as it’s the case for this Miss America.
I’m from California and there are many beautiful women who look like this. My feeling is that she looks like so many women, somewhat generic looking. It’s not her fault that she’s blond but I don’t see anything original about her. But I did not watch the pageant, so she may deserve the title and she shouldn’t be judged on just her looks, but I feel like beauty pageants are just what they are, BEAUTY pageants.
And Celyse, I love your post, right on. We’re not bagging on naturally thin women. I am concerned about women who strive to attain an unrealistic body and that is a major problem in our culture. Being overweight is unhealthy as well and some people here seem to equate the word “curvy” with being overweight and there is a difference. There are skinny women who have curves, like me. I weigh 143 pounds by I’m a size 7 because I have a combination of muscle mass and curves. Everyone is different, but striving to be a size 2 when your genetics aren’t programmed to be that size is not healthy.
Meh, she does seem fake. I’m sure she’s a nice girl though…
good body but this is that “look” i am not a fan of…fake boobs, blond hair, orange skin…I am sure she is a beautiful girl -just dont care for the barbie look
Celyse; great post. Couldn’t have said it better myself!
I agree!
She looks like she just came out of the Hollywood set Scary Movie 6 and Final Destination 3 (one of those from the tanning beds).
Ha ha ha now i have to admit that *is* funny LOL
All these scary fat chicks mouthing off against a beautiful, healthy looking thin winner !! I could just imagine them parading around the stage for this contest, each thundering step, and oh… the bathing suit seams crying out as they try to hold the fabric together… shoe leather starning with every step not to stretch and those poor heels just breaking under their weight…. and those thighs….. would totally block the view of anything behind them…. maybe that is the real reason they invented wide angle lenses….
OMG!!!
get help instead of coming here….. I mean, seriously…..
I think DT is talking about the annual “Miss Jumbo Queen” beauty competition in Thailand, its an important annual event featuring young and beautiful girls who are not a size 2. Here are this years contestants, lets give them a HUGE hand for their self-confidence:
http://www.jumboqueen.com/jumboqueen.htm
That was ALMOST funny. keep trying.
This used to be a place where mature people spoke their opinions….and then DT comes in and ruins it. UGH! I love how someone behind a computer screen can somehow mysteriously see what everyone looks like. Hate to burst your bubble DT but just because we don’t find someone attractive that dosen’t mean we are fat. So you think every skinny chick out there is attractive? Hopefully you do or you might wake up with a 50″ waist. be careful!
You think Tinkerbell and Anya are so sensitive to your feelings? I will say Tinkerbell has some writing skills and can be funny, and I just won an award from the “shoes” for my comments and sensitivity to their unselfish service to the overweight. Cute remark about the 50″ waist… you might have awoken the salivating lovers of blob…..
You are right though…. everyone lighten up and have some fun. Some of the people we talk about are making millions while we bicker about their fake boobs or rolling bulging thighs ( uggg now that is not a pretty thought ) !!
All she has won is a chance to blow Donald trump; a scholarship at some crap college; a 10-sec toothpaste commercial; a few visits to Gitmo; and a few appearances at Walmart.
Trust me babe, I’ve been in pagents and I know what the prices are for winning.
What`s wrong with you people????what happened with the true natural beauty???i mean…that`s why girls hate their bodies…that`s why anorexia exists…that`s why lots of bad things happen….i`m` not from america….but in my country it`s exactly the same:only girls who look like her are considered beautiful….”plastic girls”…no offense…but almost every girl could look like this with some surgeries and looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of make up….com`on…
Natural beauty can exist with any body type. These type of girls win beauty contests because that is what more people associate with beauty. It is simply majority rule. Not every girl can look great no matter how much surgery or makeup they have.. these girls above do have natural beauty but it is not your taste for whatever reason. Same thing for tall men sometimes perceived as more successful, or short men as having sometimes a Napoleon complex, or tall women on a runway etc etc. Even “better looking” people statistically make more money or rise higher in companies,,,, oh.. the burdens we must bear to simply survive….
Ok, everyone chill down. People come in every form and sizes, even round is a shape; as long as everyone stays healthy and happy; and don’t end up in extreme ends like these people here:
Skinny http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article295358.ece
vs
Curvy! http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Story?id=2799700
Damn right!
But please don’t use the word ‘curvy’ to describe the second example! lol

She looks totally hotter with clothes on
That’s strange…;)
Dearest Anya,
I’m sorry I don’t equate having a womanly body with being untoned and overweight. I just have standards! “And you need to get yourself an educated because you are embarrassing yourself with the comments you are making”- Did you do this on purpose? You sound beyond uneducated you sound feeble and mentally incapacitated. Secondly, stop regurgitating my words, and get a personality. Oh wait! You do have one! You’re an obese, unmotivated, bitter glutton that spends copious amounts of time browsing the Internet looking at enviable women’s bodies, while stroking your cat. Lastly, I really don’t need to work out on my body, I mean I still do, cause I’m not fat and lazy like you. But I’m pretty much genetically and intellectually superior and blessed as I am your one of a kind, 5’8, size 34c, 25inch waist, pretty model type. Throw up a Twinkie for me. Ciao!
I feel really sorry for you!
*they’re real as well
Nothing special about her at all. Send any plain jane to the gym & tanning bed, then bleach her teeth, make her blonde, then put too much makeup on her and wellahhh. You have a miss america. At least a lot of the winners from european countries are actually beautiful, not the generic “pornstar hot”.
measurements really don’t matter, if your not healthy
Barbie?
Anyone see that Miss Universe Australia contestant? Now SHE’S skinny. The article says she’s 5’11 and 108 pounds.
Her name was Stephanie Naumoska. The girl who actually won that pageant is gorgeous and much healthier looking. Much more natural and attractive than Miss USA this year.
I really like her figure, she looks like a fitness model. I don’t think her body fat % is so low that it takes away from her femininity and she seems to have enough muscle mass so the lower body fat level still looks healthy.
The only thing I don’t like is the fact that she felt the need to bleach her hair and wear a tonne of makeup….what about natural beauty lol.
WOW hello Barbie.
Shes pretty but she doesn’t look 23 more 28 / 29 30!
I like the brunette in the back of one of the pictures with the red shoes, Who is she again? Well whoever she is she’s really pretty.
Skinny or Toned..she is the Miss Universe..and I am not hehehhe…anyways..I wish people can stop commenting who is fat or skinny
What a gorgeous girl! She looks really healthy and strong to me.
I got the privilige of meeting Kristen Dalton back in November and she is even more beautiful in person than she is in photos. It’s incredible. She’s also incredibly nice and sociable towards everyone. She is the perfect Miss USA!
Apparantly none of you know what goes into getting on stage for pageants. Yes she does have a bunch of make up on because the spot lights washes out any color you may naturally have on your cheeks/face etc. Also most girls get spray tanned in order to not look like a ghost on stage. You cannot debate over things unless you are properly versed in the subject in question.
Also she was Miss USA, not Miss America nor Miss Universe. The Miss USA and Miss America are two different pageant systems, Miss America has a talent portion and their state pageants focus on community involvement and academic achievements. Where as Miss USA does not require a talent portion and is more about who you are and how pretty you are.
