Miranda, Jacquelyn & Karolina in V Magazine: ‘A Woman in Full’
July 11, 2010 in Hot Models, Karolina Kurkova, Miranda Kerr by Versus

Just yesterday, we admired Bar, Devon and Noemie posing in close-to-nothing for V Magazine’s Sexy Body Issue.
Today’s batch features 3 more models from the same issue, now with less saturation and more clothes: Miranda, Jacquelyn & Karolina in an editorial called “A Woman in Full”. According to V Magazine, “beautiful bodies and shapely women are firmly back in fashion” and, as the header of the editorial says…
Fall’s collections propose a fuller, more sensual, and completely seductive vision of womanhood. It’s Va-Va-Voom for a new decade.
And Miranda has a little something to add:
If I’m wearing something that accentuates my curves, it definitively gives me a confidence boost. It helps to have sexy underwear too.

We’ve seen Jacquelyn before… in a face-off with Crystal Renn! Check out the post here!
Make sure you check the rest!

Miranda’s quote is comical, she has got to stop referring to herself as a ‘curvy’ women, I’ve seen her in real life and she is scary thin!
i agree! I saw her when she lasted visited Australia, she has the body of a child, absolutley no curves! she looked better a few years ago when she had 4 or 5 more kilos on her
wow, really? i’m getting suck of the “body of a child” comments. some people have curves, some don’t..but you don’t need to compare them to a child! you’re going wayyy too far. she may not have curves, but she still has a beautiful body. you don’t need to have curves to be beautiful and likewise, you don’t need to be skinny to be beautiful.
What’s wrong with looking like a child? I’m scrawny and I know and accept that I look like a child – like a 5’7″ child with A cup boobs lol. I personally don’t get offended when people say thin girls look like children. Call me ****ed in the head, I don’t mind, but I like my child-like body so much more over a curvier body type
Wow Beans I never thought I’d find someone who felt the same way!
I actually smile for some reason when someone says I have a child’s body! I’ll never be curvaceous so what’s the point of not being happy with what God’s given me? I’m an eternal child!
Yeah, I’m not offended either. I don’t care what type of body someone likes, but I’m not bothered by being called childlike. I AM little. As long as people don’t treat me like a kid, we’re cool.
If you don´t get offended, then why the need to reply like that?
I don’t mind when people say that non-curvy people have teenage bodies, but I don’t think that it’s appropriate to say that their body looks like a child’s. There’s a difference between looking young and looking prepubescent – one can be viewed as attractive and the other is definitely not.
Perhaps what’s wrong with looking like a child is all the creepy pedophilia implications that face every man you’ve ever dated? Or perhaps telling a woman that she doesn’t even qualify as a woman because she doesn’t have massive fat bags on her chest is inherently insulting?
The problem is not that she’s got a “child’s body”. There’s nothing wrong with that. The problem is that she keeps on defying herself curvy, which she is not. If that was curvy, what would Crystal Renn be? (and she’s still got a healthy BMI)
Crystal Renn IS fat, and if you don’t think she is, then you need to wake up.
If she has a healthy BMI then she is not fat. Personally, I don’t know if she does or not, but to presume you know better about what is unhealthy or not than a medical professional … well, it raises questions.
actually pretty sure she said she “likes showing off her curves”. she “feels more confident.” I doubt she would describe herself as anywhere near full figured. she’s way curvier than me
She certainly does have curves. I’ve never seen a child with a body like that.
i wouldnt go as far as saying she look slike a child. she is clearly a woman. BUT i agree that she shouldnt call herself curvy…she has slight curves. pretty much all women no matter how thin or ‘straight’ their body is will have curves to come extent (and i say straight or thin because they dont necessarily go together). Miranda has slight curves but is in no way a ‘curvy woman’…i mean, if she is curvy what the hell is candice or halle berry? They are both women of varying weights but very curvy shapes
scary thin? boy i thought she was healthy because you don’t see any bones sticking out.
how you can’t see them?
i always see bones when i look at Miranda.. Candice is a “healty” model… Miranda is really too skinny
Like when? I don’t see bones when I look at Miranda either.
Nor do I.
Nor I.
yeah, right. i would not say any of them was curvy. miranda is so so skinny, has no boobs (c’mon what are those 2 empty bags on the bust of the dress she’s wearing?!) whatsoever. karolina was a bit on the curvier side before her pregnancy but after giving birth she got super skinny.
god, cant these magazines just get some pictures of some women with real curves (like bar rafaeli), if they are so determined to do these ‘yay, love your curves’-editorials, instead of using supermodels with “curves”? i really just dont get it.
Are there such thing as “fake” curves? I don’t understand. Miranda has a tiny waist and her hips go out…that’s a CURVE.
Also, to comment on your comment about Karolina getting ‘super skinny’ after having a baby. That can happen. Women’s bodies change, literally the SHAPE of them. So it’s not neccessairly her fault. I think she looks beautiful as “super skinny.”
Well, I don’t think Miranda’s whr is anything out of the ordinary, but she’s not flat-chested and does have a cute and round booty, which, in my book, make her a little curvy.
Miranda does have some shape but I still wouldn’t call her curvy in the aesthetic sense. To me curvy requires a bit more meat on the bones, hence why I wouldn’t even refer to Candice Swanpoel as curvy (though she may show up as being so if you were to calculate her WHR).
I’d say both are shapely women.
I agree, I don’t think she’s straight up-and-down, but she’s still not most people’s definition of “curvy.”
Miranda didn’t say “oh, I’m so curvy”, she said she likes things that accentuate her curves, however small they are. And Karolina was never super skinny.
bah, they just keep talking about curves cause it’s popular now…they probably told her to say that…it’s getting boring that they all say the same thing
I don’t think miranda is ‘curvy’ but i think she has an amazing figure. For some reason the word curvy means good and skinny bad these days. I think both can be good or bad and she is beautiful and has a gorgeous body.
Regardless of her quote, Miranda looks absolutely stunning here.
agreed.
i think people shouldn’t take notice of half the stuff models say anyway chances are they were told to say it by their agency or which designer they’re representing….also models weren’t hired for their brains. they are there to look good
Im really confused by this, what the hell are they talking about “beautiful bodies and shapely women are firmly back in fashion”?! The whole thing makes ZERO sense, first of all, when have beautiful bodies NOT been in fashion? And secondly – how in the hell is miranda kerr “shapely”? She isn’t shapely at all, she is very straight, and I guess technically ruler is a “shape” but we all know when people say “shapely” they arent talking about straight up and down. Also this crap about a “fuller” seductive vision of womanhood blah blah blah, you cant use the term “fuller” and have someone known for their super-skinny-ness model ffs.
And the crap coming out of mirandas mouth, please. Do the people who sell these magazines not realise how alienating it is to the majority of women to talk about curves, and a “fuller” image etc and have thes tiny curvless waifs model. I dont really know about karolina but I’m pretty sure that other chick is only a teenager, sorry but to me a 17 year old does not represent “womanhood”.
I find the whole thing kind of insulting to the intelligence, but maybe this is the kind of stuff people who read V magazine gobble up with a spork, I dunno.
And I just want to say actually that I happen to think miranda has a beautiful body and I admire the bodies of plenty skinny women, but trying to market it as something its not, its just silly.
Thank you for writing my thoughts for me. I was too tired to do it myself.
I wouldn’t call Miranda straight but I agree with what you’re saying.
‘Curvy’ is a term thrown about losely these days and models are quick to adapt a definition for themselves. But if they really think that proper curvy women or women just fuller in size are going to read this and relate to this they are barking.
I agree with gen…you wrote my thoughts down as well!! Thanks.
Can she please sit down and be quite already because for someone who supposedly went or was going planning to go to college she comes off as incredibly stupid. I’m definitely not gonna go as far to say she looks like a prepubescent boy because she has a-cup boobs and ass however she’s far from curvy. In fact had she not have the aforementioned she’s be a ruler. To be completely honest I’m absolutely tired of these contrived statements from these VS models except for Adriana, Doutzen, Candice and Benhati. I remember when Alessandra said she was curvy *rolls eyes*. Basically most of these girls priding themselves on bringing back the voluptuous movement back into fashion are far from it unless you have a body that resembles the trinity or any of the early 90 models Linda, Claudia, Cindy or Christy keep it moving.
*quiet*
Most of the VS models are thin enough to be high fashion models. They are not nessec. encouraging positive body image because a few of them DON’T have any meat on their bones. Agreed.
Well, I think Miranda is more referring to posing and wearing clothes that make her look curvier – “If I’m wearing something that accentuates my curves”.
I think she looks great as usual. I my opinion, she shows off the clothes she wears better than most plus-size models, despite maybe being less curvy (in both the shape and size definition of curvy).
Maybe I’m just biased because I’m aussie
I think the clothes, hair, and styling are totally ugly. I sure hope someone else is designing something else more fun for fall. I would not feel confident or sexy looking like any of these pictures.
Again with Miranda Kerr and her ‘curves’. If Miranda reckons that she’s ‘curvy’, then what are Kim Kardashian and Beyonce? Morbidly obese? Miranda is the typical extremely skinny, ruler shape size 0 model. Whenever Miranda opens her mouth she has the intelligence that of Megan Fox.
at least she has better grammar than you.
Better grammar? If you think that, then please go ahead and spell check. What the heck is wrong with people? It seems as though everyone is judging other people’s comments!
Agreed! Opinions are opinions.
spelling and grammar are distinctly different.. however i agree that it’s stupid to nitpick comments.
Yeh, also, a lot of people here, including myself, aren’t native speakers! You cannot expect them to have perfect grammar.
Kate, i´m pretty damn sure Miranda did NOT write any of that.
I agree that she isn’t most people’s definition of “curvy,” but she probably feels that way when she’s surrounded by so many emaciated models – she’s definitely “curvy” in comparison to them.
a “fuller” woman would look ridiculous in those pointy breasted clothes, even the models do…
She IS curvy, as are most women. I’m sorry for all you bitter women who have come to use the word curvy as a euphemism for fat.
Girl get real will you? Curves and fat are two totally different things, curvy is a body shape, and it comes in all sizes, the majority of people on this site share this viewpoint. But miranda isn’t curvy. The other VS model candice, she is curvy, and so is kelly brook. Curves are curves, you know that thing that is the OPPOSITE of a straight line? Just checking.
I’m not as skinny as miranda, I’m a size 2, but I’m the same height so there is no way in hell I am “fat” so that blows your little theory right out of the water. So how about you stop insulting the women on this site with such immature comments just because we dont all share your point of view?
Usually I would use a bit more tact in replying to a comment like yours, but I’ve been up all night working and to be honest can’t be bothered being anything other than blunt. I think I speak for many when I say “STFU”.
Anyone here love this shoot as much as me?! It’s probably due to the fact that I love vintage/classical looks but they all look stunning here. I love the styling, so feminine and wonderful! It’s a breath of fresh air for these models.
Yes, especially with Miranda filling out the dress in the front in the first picture.
Well, the shoot is great.
But I won’t argue the fact that her breast looked like pitched tents… that were ravaged by a black bear looking for smores.
I like these. Some great shots here.
One thing is, Jacqueline always makes me jealous. Can’t believe she is 16. What amazing bone structure.
I think Miranda Kerr has an impressive WHR, she is by no means a ‘straight line’ or a ruler. This shoot is mainly to promote Louis Vuitton’s and Prada’s F10 lines with ‘fuller women’. Alessandra, Bar, etc were some of the models if we remember, supposed to be a big deal but whatever.
It’s like the new ads for Louis Vuitton, how they are supposed to be ‘diverse’ because they feature a blond, brunette, and redhead- one in her 20s, 30s, and 40s. But they are all tall slim white women. (Karen Elsen, Natalia Vodianova, Christy Turlington)
well i think miranda is no curvy girl but what she meant is that she wants clothes to show off her body or give her more of a shape. i don’t know but i will say she looks nice and all these ignorant comments go too far because it seems no one can be respectful.
i think she meant she likes to dress to make her look more curvy, the people who are saying she is curvy already, I’m sorry but she really isn’t! But when she dresses certain ways or does certian poses she looks more curvy, and she likes that.
I agree. I also think she meant she likes to dress in a way that accentuates her curves. As for her choice of the word ‘curves’: she does have some curves, but that doesn’t mean they have to be extremely obvious va-va-voom curves to be called that. A curve is a curve, no matter how small, but perhaps the body would not have enough curve to be called ‘curvy’.
Miranda Kerr is obviously not very bright but I guess she likes making a fool of herself to attract attention. If she had some intelligence she wouldn’t make statements like this.
Everybody knows that her so called “curves” are the result of Photoshop and padded bras since in candids she has no ass, no cleavage and no waist!
And her “embrace yourself” memento is just so pathetic when you know that she does botox and became a chain-smoker to keep extra weight off (when she was a teen-ager she was much thicker than now).
Sure, other models smoke and do cosmetic surgery too, but at least they don’t go preaching about healthy living. She should really be ashamed of herself.
The only one who compares to her is maybe Ambrosio, even though she never tried to make $$$ selling books or beauty stuff she knows nothing about.
Miranda Kerr has >>some<< curves. She's not completely flat chested, she has a small booty, and she definetly has waist definition.
http://chicstories.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/miranda-kerr-runway-6218-15.jpg
It's just, I personally don't think her curves are that pronounced to reach the "curvy" level. Although Marisa has about the same waist definition as Miranda, she also has more of a booty and C-cups, so I don't feel wrong calling her curvy. Candice has a ridiculous WHR, so she too is curvy despite having the same cup size and booty as Miranda.
Regardless, I don't think she was calling herself a curvy girl, I think she was saying she likes to look curvy.
And quite frankly, the word "curvy" is in fashion now…nobody quite agrees on what it really is, but everybody wants to be it, even those that are not curvy (and that includes bigger women who have no waist definition, chubby women who are flat-chested but call themselves curvy…etc). But because it is in fashion, you will see it being used by fashion models.
I don’t see any curves lololol
They are all gorgeous women with great bodies. Curvy or slim or whatever, they look good. Not liking the clothes at all though.
Today of all days i decided to wear a dress with tights that accentuated my curves. i left the house thinking i looked nice and shapely. later that day i was told that i was getting wider, by a woman ive only met once, and i now vouch never to wear any of those items of clothing again. its a shame nobody lets you embrace yourself as you would like.
omg that woman should mind her own business!! I bet she looks like a supermodel.. NOT… geez….
Miranda photo is better than the other. Other gal looks like Dita Von Teese strangely enough.
You know, I’ve always wondered why no one ever gives the skinny girls any respect. People on this website (and all over the rest of the internet) never seem to feel any qualms saying stuff like “she has the body of a child…” or “her bones are sticking out!”, but jump on the people who think a certain celebrity looks slightly pudgy or bloated in a post. Hypocrite much?
I mean, can’t you guys give skinny models the same amount of respect that you give the plus sized ones? You don’t hear people saying “ew, her fat rolls are sticking out everywhere” or “she’s got the body of a michelin man”, so why insult the ones who work hard to stay healthy?
To me the real hypocrites are those claiming they eat organic, do yoga etc. to stay in shape when in reality they haven’t eaten a proper meal in years because smoking a ciggie is just so much and easier to keep a skinny shape……
I’m not bashing skinny models and I’m not defending overweight people either because extremes are NOT the way to go.
I’m just saying that there are some naturally thin people and some genetically chubby ones out there and no matter what they eat or the amount of exercize, they will always be thin/chubby.
The difference is that chubby celebrities NEVER talk about their lifestyle, even though it’s very healthy, because nobody cares.
Skinny ones on the other hand CONSTANTLY flaunt their great habits and lie about it most of the time.
I don’t hate skinny celebs, I just wish they didn’t have any skeletons in the closet when it comes to their relationship with food.
“To me the real hypocrites are those claiming they eat organic, do yoga etc. to stay in shape when in reality they haven’t eaten a proper meal in years because smoking a ciggie is just so much and easier to keep a skinny shape…”
If you are referring to Miranda, then I have to say that you do not know whether or not she has eaten a proper meal in years. You do not have information on her 24/7. And you do not know whether or not she still smokes. She was only photographed once a few years back holding a cigarette. For all you know, that could have been her one and only. Quite frankly, if she was a chain smoker, it would show by now.
“The difference is that chubby celebrities NEVER talk about their lifestyle, even though it’s very healthy, because nobody cares.”
Yes they do. All the time. Jessica Simpson is the first one that comes to mind.
“Skinny ones on the other hand CONSTANTLY flaunt their great habits and lie about it most of the time.”
I don’t think it’s “flaunting,” I think they just answer the questions they are asked. We as a people are preoccupied with weight and body image, so those questions get asked of any celebrity, whether thin or chubby. And as for lying…I don’t think most of them are lying. I think they may exaggerate their claims, especially models regarding eating a lot, but I think that’s because they are constantly accused of only eating lettuce leaves so they have become defensive.
“You don’t hear people saying “ew, her fat rolls are sticking out everywhere” or “she’s got the body of a michelin man”, ”
I’ve seen that referred to pretty normal celebrities before, like Christina Hendricks, Kim Kardashian and Kelly Brook, none of which actually have rolls of fat.
This insulting thing kind of works both ways. The difference is there is a bigger backlash if you call someone fat than thin, but that is only because people assume that thin people are incapable of being offended since they are the “standard.”
I have to disagree with you.
Chubby celebs always seem very conservative when it comes to that subject.
And yes, I was exactly referring to Kerr and her speech ….. I’m so tired of that!!!
Plus, you don’t have to know her personally to see if she smokes or eats properly. All the public has noticed is that she lost quite some weight in the last few years and she looks very different from her beginnings. How could that be made up???
“All the public has noticed is that she lost quite some weight in the last few years and she looks very different from her beginnings.”
Actually, on the contrary. If you look at pictures of her when she first started out, or her family pictures, she looked straight up BONY. Like, freakishly thin.
http://img135.imageshack.us/i/41med4hb.jpg/
http://img135.imageshack.us/i/115med0mp.jpg/
It was only around the time when she started working with VS that she gained some weight…probably was told to. She also became really toned during that time, so she probably gained weight by working out and putting on muscle.
Then about 2 years ago she went and dropped the weight again. Probably because she got a solid contract with VS and developed a name for herself so she didn’t need to work as hard for a VS-style figure, and also because she wanted to do more high fashion.
If the “public” actually followed her career, that’s what they would have seen. As as for smoking, like I said, there is only one picture of her ever holding a cigarette.
But you seem bent on believing that she starves herself without any evidence, so by all means, you can continue to do so.
i completely agree with you!! So true!!
OOPS no…..meant to agree with Jinn. Sorry.
THIS REALLY ANNOYS ME!
UGH,I swear I don’t know what to expect anyway its kinda how fashion works…
latest trend … put on stick thin models …magazines
Except this time its stupid because there saying “curves” are fashionable yet they are using the same models.
At first when this whole “curvy” thing came out I was like…yay finally i can look at some models that have a body shape I can aspire to…but tbh its all getting a bit to…curvy vs skinny vs fat vs thin…its all MEAN and its all discriminator..
cant we celebrate ALL sizes ALL shapes ALL heights?
We’re nearly all beautiful creatures, everyone has one nice feature about them, from great breasts and long legs to a smile or amazing inner strengh.
I guess im just in an emotional mood
but is it too much to hope for?
omg, Candice had a boob job
http://funkysite.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/candice_swanepoel/Candice_Swanepoel13.jpg
she’s super flat on that picture
How old is she there? She started modelling when she was 15 and a lot of girls are still growing at that age.
She never had a boob job, she just wears huge padded bras for VS – if you see her in a bikini, she looks pretty much the same. The top in the photo also isn’t the most flattering, so it makes her look more flat-chested.
I’m overweight, and I just have to get something off of my mind.
Yes, skinny women get insulted too. And I’m not condoning it at all, especially since I’ve seen first hand with my bestfriend how much it hurts to say you have the body of a little boy, etc. When I look at Miranda, I’m JEALOUS of her body. I don’t sit there and insult her just because I’m in envy of how she looks. A lot of women on here who are thin think that EVERY overweight girl makes fun of thinner women, when that just isn’t the case. At least for me anyway. Miranda, you are skinny. And that’s okay, because your body is beautiful. But just accept that you are thin and not AS curvy as you build yourself up to be. Which she does, so please don’t respond to my comment like I’m being ignorant.
And I’m sorry if this offends anyone, because I’ve read things on here that have made me feel even worse about my overweight body. Skinny women, you are beautiful. Overweight women, you are beautiful.
I think the first model is all together beautiful, very nice hair and face. I think I saw her in W.
I also adore vintage looks.
GRR. Miranda needs a padded bullet bra in that dress. She doesn’t fill it out! A bra by What Katie Did will take care of that, photographer.
