pure BEAUTY!
I have absolutely NO IDEA why the magazine, any magazine would choose her. Her lips look mutilated because of her vanity (aka plastic surgery) and she is simply not beautiful. She is one of those celebs whose beauty I simply do not get AT ALL, like my impression of her looks is the exact opposite of what most people see.
SI is a one trick pony for the “models” they feature. Her lip is so swollen to the point that it looks painful. Plastic enhancement and dating a prominent male either in sports, fashion or film will get you a cover.
Look at the way celebrities present themselves to the public for eg. Kesha she looks like the host of many diseases and sounds worse than a buzzing mosquito but she still sells records. So liitle in the industry is about talent or beauty for most it’s who they ummm erm know
In person she looks like a surgically enhanced plastic doll not appealing and her lips look absolutely awful. Whereas in the photo’s thanks to air brushing she looks a lot better.
I’m pretty sure her lips are natural…

Well first off, it is possible to have lips like that naturally. It’s not vanity if it is something you are born with. Is it uncommon, and weird? Yes. But it is her’s (there’s pictures of her as a kid with a giant upper lip, so unless she was injecting at the age of 7 in Communist Russia, I think you’re wrong), and with all the talking about how the definition of beauty should be expanded to include more people, how it’s too narrow, how only Caucasion thin blondes are considered beautiful…I really don’t think Irina deserves the hate that is given to her, even if she is not your cup of tea.
Anyway her appeal is not her lips. It’s her slim but not shapeless body, her dark skin and hair and her light eyes. It’s an unusual but striking combination. Much like Cinthia Dicker is unusual and striking, and she was also featured in SI this year.
Personally, I don’t like Irina, she is not my favorite model, but I do enjoy looking at her at the same time. She has a lot of confidence and her body language makes her more attractive in my eyes than she is to me just by looks alone.
Her lips are not natural, it is so obvious that I am actually embarrassed for the ones that are naive to believe otherwise.
I do not hate her, I don’t hate anybody, it’s just that I refuse to BUY IT, meaning that all these models / celebs can’t SELL their ‘beauty’ to me anymore, it just looks forced and lame. Only truly beautiful women, with grace and elegance, with natural sex-appeal can pull off looking beautiful while doing sexy faces, teasing the cameras.
Irina, on the other hand, looks cringe-worthy while trying to move and look sexy.

i agree with casey. i believe her lips are real. augmented, plumped lips rarely have any wrinkles- irinas lips do.
You don’t have to feel embarrassed for me. I revel in the fact that I don’t jump to conclusions and am tolerant enough to understand that different and unique features are not always the product of plastic surgery. I don’t think people are all born looking the same way and any unusual feature must be unnatural.
i have work with her in past. real early in her career. she have natural lips. they no fake. i know. she is beautiful woman and so kind.
i understand you, i’m not very much into Irina’s beauty either…. But her being a celebrity is not any wonder..people’s perception upon beauty has evolved from the doll-like face to the hiper-sensual features, not to call them a little vulgar…..though Irina has it,the “x” ingredient that makes her magic in others eyes, in her way, i guess….

if you see her in any candid photos her boobs are no where near this big! I almost hate that they do photo shop so well because people then think they all natural look like this!
She is stunning! It’s amazing how the idea of beauty varies from person to person. Sure, her lips may not be real (are they?) but her eyes, face structure and body are exactly what the readers of Sports Illustrated are looking for. It is, however, interesting to see how much skinner these cover models have gotten over the years. Do you guys remember the Tyra Banks cover in the 1990s?? Very different…
She looks good but not great (for a swimsuit model). I would have prefer to see Izabel Goulart (PERFECT body) or Cintia (gorgeous) than Irina. I mean she looks beautiful in some pictures but in others she doesn´t at all and i´m not such a big fan of her body.
I love Izabel! She has one of the best bodies ever imo.

It is strange how people’s tastes differ so much. Whenever I see Cintia Dicker in an SI Swimsuit edition I always wonder how she got there. I’m really not a fan.

Everytime I see these kind of pictures I’m asking myself if their parents (in this case Irina’s) are proud of their daughters.
Well she’s not really showing anything that she wouldn’t show at the beach, and she’s making tons of money… and she does a lot of modeling, not just for SI… If I had a daughter I’d be OK with her doing this photo shoot… But I know my dad wouldn’t be OK with me doing it.

It’s the poses, the sensual faces and the photoshop so that the breasts pop out of the bikini, the too small bikini bottoms, the perfectly touselled photoshopped thick hair, the made up face… You have to admit, you generally dont see women like this at the beach? Even the models wouldnt look like this at the beach…
I agree, it’s really in the expression. But then again, it’s a men’s magazine, so nothing more can be expected.
I think any time a woman poses for a men’s magazine, their husbands/boyfriends/fathers would not like it to a certain extent. But part of love involves giving support to a person who wants to do something even if you don’t necessarily like it. Posing in this magazine does not cause any damage to any of the models…it’s not like the porn industry, or prostitution, or something along those lines. There really is no argument against it except, “I personally don’t like it,” which is not a good enough reason to withdraw your love from your daughter or your girlfriend for doing it.

I’m just curious, what do you think about high fashion nudes then? Not pornographic stuff like Terry Richardson’s or even mainstream, just black-and-white nude art that some of the most respected photographers shoot.
I think SI is actually a class below this, even though the fashion models are technically showing more. But whereas the fashion models’ purpose isn’t to be some object of sexual desire, the SI models are.
I think that its not about the small amount of clothing/ being nude imo. As I said in a comment above it’s about the way the person is presented, the hair, the makeup, the facial expression, the pose etc etc. So i think there are definately nude pictures which can look classy. I dont think SI is classy…not saying im against it because for the most part i like the bodies that they show, but its not classy imo. High fashion nudes can definately be classy

Actually I do like her face, but not so much the body, except for the legs. I LOLed at the 8th pic, you can see the padding in her bikini. I wonder why it wasn’t photoshopped away.

And while she has an awesome body, am I the only one that doesn’t buy the 23″ waist thing. In all these pics it doesn’t look like her WHR is that low. Never get why people have to always fudge their measurements and how it is that every model is basically the same size no matter what height they are.

Yeah, her waist is definitely not 23″, especially since she’s quite tall. And I agree that they have gotten a bit cheesy, and the models all do the same poses/expressions, just really repetitive.

Yeah her boobs are probably real, they re just very photoshopped. If you look at her candids you ll see her boobs are actually small/medium.
But I just don t get it, they picked her as a cover model so why do they need to change her body that much? can’t a girl be sexy without having D cups? And if SI really wants big boobs why not pick someone else ?
Agree completely, it’s one of the features that makes her distinct from the other models! And that’s definitely not a bad thing, they look awesome on her, are perfect for her frame, and look amazing in bikinis – she can pull of the really tiny ones that bigger-busted girls can’t! For some girls, like Bar, bigger chests fit, but for Irina, I feel like she kind of loses her appeal when they pump up her boobs. It just doesn’t look right on her.
Ugh i know Mel! Why do they have to pump up everyones breasts so much! Even if it’s for the men…there are plenty that also like smaller boobs! There are plenty that dont like them when they look fake! to me, they look like fake breasts on the cover. Usually they smooth out fake breasts (and make them bigger) and try to make them look natural, but it looks like they tried to make her look like she has fakes! strange
I agree, I think one of the reasons they didn’t look right was because they look too fake! Whereas someone like Bar’s hang naturally, and therefore look far better. And while a lot of guys like natural big boobs, I’m pretty sure 99% prefer small and real over big and fake.

There’s something wrong with these measurements (and all models in general), her waist can’t possibly be that small! I’m 5.4 tall, I’m skinny (people tell me I’m too skinny, but I’m born like this) and my waist is 57 cm. I have a thin waist compared to my hips. There is no way her waist is that small! Anybody else think this is weird too?
For this type of model, I like her a lot, way more than the VS ones. I like her face, it exotic. I believe her measurements. Her low hip is probably 35″, not her high hip, that’s probably 33″. I’m 5’8″ 24″ waist, 35″ low hip and she looks like she has a lower whr than me.

I don’t believe the measurements are right either. As I said above, her measurements are allegedly the same as mine yet my waist looks much smaller than hers and with her being more stretched out than I, wouldn’t her waist look absolutely tiny? I don’t know maybe it’s the other way around LOL not sure but it seems off., it could be true but they often lie with measurements for some reason.
i was a model, and my waist was 61-62 and it looked like i was starving:)) i’m 180 cm- 90-62-90, it’s almost impossible if u look at pic 08 to say she’s 58 cm in her waist, it’s just a silly thing to say that. and btw model agencies always give out wrong measurements(from experience).

You know what, I enjoy seeing female beauty as much as the next guy…but I am REALLY getting tired of these covers…They are always the same; the ‘same’ look, the same poses, the same freaking tiny bikinis, even the same freaking measurements!
