Helena Christensen Brings the Quote of the Day
November 30, 2009 in Celebrity Quotes, Helena Christensen, Hot Models by Versus

I love breasts. I love the female shape. It’s crazy – you can have movie posters with men with machine guns but, oh, God forbid you show the nipples! That never ceases to amaze me.”
She continued, “It’s flabbergasting. I can understand if you have your legs spread and you’re pushing yourself into the camera – that’s sexually erotic. But the sensual contours in the male or female shape? Come on, guys, relax.”
40 year-old supermodel Helena Christensen in Elle Magazine
Do you guys agree or not?

I completely agree with her. It reminds me of once wattching a show on discovery health about men who had breasts natrually and got surgery to remove them. They blurred out the mens chest before surgery but showed it after
makes me wonder where the line gets drawn
and I laughed at her quote about spread legs and the picture of spread-legged Hayden that showed up on this page
She has a point but I mean, men and woman are not the same, biologically.
Men are very visual and easily sexually stimualted, whereas women are more auditory and not as easily stimulated. Aside from scientific studies that prove this, just observe who asks/needs foreplay more often…women.
Women also tend to have more control over their sexual urges than men.
So women can look at a macho man poster in appreciation without falling into a drooling stupor, but for men, even the outline of a nipple will arouse them.
And I’m speaking on average. Of course there are men and women that aren’t like what I said above. But for the most part, those things are true.
Personally, I think it’s great that women have that control over men, and the ability to stupify them by doing something as simple as taking off a shirt. But that’s just me.
I wouldn’t say women are more “auditory”. It’s just that women react on a deeper, emotional level than men do. I think it’s pretty pathetic that men operate on a primitive animal level.
Hm. I wouldn’t say that men act on a primate animal level. Both men and women do when it comes to sex. Sexual arousal in general is a very primitive, basic reaction. Like thirst and hunger, it’s controlled by the amygdala part of the brain, to put it plainly.
It’s just men and women have different primitive animal levels.
This article appeared in the New York Times magazine about a year ago. (If you can’t click on the link, just Google “bonobos women sexuality” and it’ll be the first hit). They had some interested assertions about women and desire that buck against some of the trad. “men are physically aroused”/”women are psychologically aroused” dichotomy. While the article doesn’t come to any conclusions, it does imply that women have a greater disconnect between mind and body when it comes to desire than men.
Found it. Thanks for the article Polly, seems interesting. I don’t have time to read it now but I will save it for later.
I definetly not suprised about the claim in the article though. In psychology research, the only difference that has been found between men and women is that the “control” parts of the brain are more active in women during sexual arousal. But that could just be because women are discouraged from displaying their sexuality so they repress it more.
Weird thing is that, the brain pathways involved with sexual arousal in humans are almost identical for the most basic of sexual animals. So for millions and millions of years, nothing about sexual arousal has changed. When it comes to sexual arousal, we are all “primitive.”
Oh and in response to the audition thing, there was a research study done a few years back that showed that women are more aroused by sounds than by images, and for men it’s the opposite.
I don’t know why I quoted it because to be honest I’m not sure I agree with it. I personally don’t respond to sounds, but maybe I’m just an anomaly and most women do. I wish I could find the study so that you can read it if you’d like and decide for yourself if you agree, but I can’t. :/ Sorry.
I don’t know who she is but she isn’t very attractive or at least not in these photos. she has a point about what’s considered allowable and what isn’t. when you really break it down, men have nipples. women have nipples. the only difference outside of function and interior makeup is a giant lump of fat. but i guess if you take megan’s example into consideration, the fat is what’s being censored.
she was a big name model back in like 90′s. check her out hotter and younger in a music video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oaHHrNQVrg
she’s so right!
this woman is gorgeous ! i have 2 naked pics of her on my phone. Lesbian crush ! Totally.
Agreed, 100%. Living in the States, mainly. The female body should be worshiped and not treated like a weapon. It appears to be predominately women who feel entitled to defame another woman who is comfortable with her body and sexuality to an extraordinary extent. That is quite unfortunate because it says a lot about ourselves internally. Praise her.
she looks great, i love the ’90s supermodels’ bodies and it shows that they are healthy because they still look good at 40.
anyone know her height/weight now?
I agree with what she’s saying.
I don’t think she’s that attractive though, better looking than me personally, but just.. idk, something wierd about her face (Surgery?)
Love it!
I don’t quite understand.. so does she mean women should be able have their tits out in movie posters?
danish girls are very sexual active, bisexual and they love to show their bodies their skin a lot….i just dont like this helena c. since the moment i got to dk i disliked her…
