Crystal Renn Poses for V Magazine

For the 3rd time this year, recently slimmer Crystal Renn is featured in V Magazine. In this shoot, a desaturated Crystal goes topless and shows off her curves in lacey bodysuits.
And a piece of news: Crystal was included in ‘Top 50 Women Models’ on Models.com on number 36 – she is the only ‘plus-size’ (read above size 4) model from the chart. The reason:
“With back to back issues of Vogue Paris, serious rotation in V magazine, a Gaultier campaign this season and runway presence for Gaultier and Chanel the message is clear. Crystal Renn is simply put, an extraordinarily good model.”

I disagree I think the lace pictures look gross and not because of her weight. They just look skanky!
yawn, I’m so bored of crystal renn already, I don’t think her face is anything special at all, she’s not the kind of woman I’d find attractive if I saw he walking down the street, and not only that, every time I see her in modelling shots I find her less attractive than I do if I see her in candids or an interview etc. In other words, asides from finding her face nothing special, I also dont like the way she poses, her expressions, etc. I don’t get what all the hype is about, except for the fact that she was “plus sized”, though there are plus size models out there with much prettier faces, she must have had really good PR. Crystal, along with agyness dean (however you spell her name) are two women who have been in the limelight a lot for their modeling that I just dont GET. Agyness for me though, actually has a likeability factor. Crystal seems like….I dunno like she tries to play on “political correctness” and saying what she thinks people want to hear in order to get women to like her.
Anyway, whatever, she’s not harming anyone, she’s making money, good for her, I just don’t care. I’m gonna opt out of looking at the crystal renn posts from now on, coz there is really nothing new I could say about her.
I thought I was the only one, who doesn’t find Crystal Renn special and I started to think that there’s something wrong with me…;)
Anyway, I totally agree.
She’s just neither pretty nor ugly.
Her body isn’t sexy (imo), but it isn’t bad too.
Just average girl, but maybe that’s what people need.
Better average looking girl, than scary skinny (soften by photoshop) looking model, which causes anorexia and so on.
This is what I used to think, too.. But I’ve been watching some interviews of her on youtube, and with her voice and charisma and stuff, she is very pretty and adorable…
ok she has charisma and a higher IQ but she is not pretty imo…her face is so rough and manly, she looks sad all the time! and in the last photo i think she doesn’t look that good…and i am a “plus size” too
Despite how much you guys don’t like her as a model, she must be doing something right to be landed so many jobs. From what I can deduce, average models don’t get callbacks from the same publications – multiple times.

There’s more to being a model than just how you look.
I think someone like Gisele has a really beautiful and regal apperance, but a lot of people “don’t get” her. Yet she’s the only true supermodel of our era. Why? She knows how to model. She knows how to market herself. She knows her good angles, and how to pose.
Perhaps Crystal is one of the few plus-sized models that shares the same skills.
I agree with you though, I never really liked her face. But she does seem pretty intelligent and honest in her interviews.
ya bro, to be honest i never “got” the Giselle appeal, I mean i always found her face unattractive, although her body that i get. lol…very hot body!!!
I love the first two shots, but not really feeling the third one. I feel like I can’t really comment on her body now because I don’t know how accurate a portrayal this is of her body- or just some guy’s ability to use photoshop to shrink women. Looking at the photo at face value, I would say her figure looks amazing, and she should maintain this size healthily. I think this is a healthy compromise from her emaciated and larger days.
You do realize that any image from any publication is retouched, don’t you? It’s not a new phenomenon. Even old hollywood images were hand painted to look more beautiful.
HAHAHAHAHAH the third photo is actually SO hilarious. She reminds me of rick astley dancing for some reason haha. But yeah she looks hot, not fat, not super thin but definitley slimmer but still curvy.

This is just sad, to claim you’re proud of your body and proud to be a plus size model and then go around losing weight and getting photoshopped. She might as well fully lose the weight and become a normal skinny models, would save them the money for photoshopping the body.
She didn’t choose to be photoshopped, so that shouldn’t be held against her.

I think she’s a beautiful woman, but I prefer Tara Lynn. She is no more plus size though… just curvier than other models… But anyway, this is the kind of model that makes men be interrested in fashion (at least, me) because she is way sexier than those Victoria Skeletons…
Last 2 pics are likely the most ridicuous shoots ever seen – simply grotesque… I don’t get why ‘plus-size’ models are always photographed in unflattering, strange, not-sexy-at-all clothes.. Yeah, the point is to accentuate their best features ? Well, in most cases it doesn’t succeed…

These photographs do accentuate one of her best features, her beautiful curves! granted she has a beautiful face to but until she became curvy she wasn’t a successful model. I don’t see anything grotesque about these photos, I just see a beautiful confident women in an edgy photo shoot

I think a couple of more poses in the outfit that she’s wearing in the first picture would have looked A LOT better than that lace bodysuit. It looks like that get-up wouldn’t flatter anyone! And that pose in the 3rd picture is just ridiculous! She looks really good in the first picture, though!
She don`t impress me!
She looks to have a great WHR in the lace body suit. Whether she’s lost a little weight or not, she’s still a healthy size. People don’t just have one very specific ideal weight, but a range of weights in which their body is healthy, like someone could be healthy when they’re between 115 and 120lbs. Weight even fluctuates from day to day, depending on water retention, how much food is in your body and hormone levels. You can temporarily gain 3lbs if you eat a huge meal! But yeah, Crystal looks healthy and feminine; i don’t think her weight loss is a problem to her health.
The lace body suit is pretty ridic, but looking at the other models in the V mag shoot, a lot of them were topless or showing even more skin, so I can’t say that they’re “exploiting” her plus-sizeness. Still fugly though.
Can I ask why there’s always a pink censor over everything here? These photos are not pornographic, they are freely available in magazines and I’m pretty sure the majority of users of this site wouldn’t faint at the sight of a nipple. It just seems a bit silly.

I think the first two pictures are gorgeous but I have to agree with the posters who say they don’t like the third.
her face is boring and unattractive to me. i don’t mind her in clothes sometimes ,but seeing all those lumps and rolls in the last picture is gross, that outfit is beyond the dumbest and ugliest thing ever. some people with a little extra weight carry it alright even when naked, doesn’t look like she is one of them, don’t put all that spandex on to make it worse.
First of all, I think people should stop commenting on what it betrayal it is for Crystal to lose weight. She doesn’t owe anybody anything, including staying fat. Furthermore, I can’t imagine why people would not be happy for her that she has lost weight in a healthy way (by being more active, she says). I have heard of people wanting to be more curvy, to have more boobs or more butt, but I have yet to hear a single person say that they WANT to be fat; so I imagine that Crystal is perfectly happy to become less fat and more thin. Someone else can pick up the torch of fat acceptance in her place.
I like the first and second pictures, but the third one looks terrible, in my opinion. Crystal looks good when she contorts her body into extremely “curvy” positions (picture no. 2) or when she angles it towards the camera to make it look smaller (picture no. 1), but I think that the last pose is too straight on for Crystal’s somewhat-lumpy figure.
Also, I can’t stand that last pose — a lot of models do it (Coco Rocha especially often) and every time I see it, I can’t stand the pretentiousness of it.
She looks amazing. I like the lace, it shows off her curves. There are less angles and mostly curve in that pic and yet she still manages to be edgy

She looks phenomenal in the first two, but I think the last one was a bit of a bad choice on the photographer’s side. It’s not very flattering.
I agree though, she looks like an average sized woman. Why don’t they just have a model category for average sized women? Wouldn’t that be nice, to actually see what the clothes you are buying might look like on YOU? I know the whole point is to glamourize their clothing and make you think it will make you look good, but it’s pretty annoying trying to figure out if a certain thing would look good on me when all there is are 5’10 size 0-2 models modeling it. Not very close at all to my 5’5 size 6/7 figure at all!
