Kendra Wilkinson: “My Post-Baby Body Was Such a Culture Shock”
March 12, 2010 in Beauty & Body Image, Celebrity Quotes, Hollywood Moms by Versus
Umm, what? Let’s hear the details:
Kendra Baskett admits in the new issue of Us Weekly that she struggled to accept her new body weeks after the Dec. 11 birth of Hank IV, her son with husband Hank Baskett.
“I had my friends over, and it was bad timing,” Kendra, 24, tells Us. “They were really hot and had really nice bodies,” she says of her visitors, which included former Girls Next Door costar Holly Madison and Playboy model Tiffany Fallon.
“I was just hoping Hank didn’t look at them! Having a different body was such a culture shock. I’m so used to being hot and fit.” Although “it wasn’t that extreme,” the reality star says, “I did go through some depression.”
The one-time centerfold adds that her body confidence remains shaky. “I love my legs, and I love my butt, but everything else I hate.”
Everything including her breasts, she says, which “went from a 34C to an E. Now that they’re going down, they’re a little bigger than I want,” she says. “I want to even out my body a little.”

Not sure she understands the meaning of the words “culture shock”…
Ha ha! I agree, but for the record, the way she seems on her show could lead us to believe she doesn’t understand a lot of things…
I like this girl. I think she’s adorable in her own ditzy way, but I have to say, she says some dumb stuff. It’s like a joke you find funny the first few times, but then it gets old…..Yeah, that’s how I feel about her.
As for the baby weight, she looks good. It’s a probably a more internal issue for her, since she looked so sporty and athletic before, but maybe she needs to be reassured that she JUST had a baby in December. It’s March, honey, you’ve got plenty of time
Hihii aww, yea check the dictionary girl. But i think she got her message through. As much as i might dislike my body at times, i couldn’t imagine having fear over my man checking other women out though.
wow are you saying yours bf doesnt check anyone else out? Or that you just don’t care about it!
I think she is really cute! never loved her body but she seems quite sweet i think, ansd i couldnt imagine her worrying over something like that considering her whole life revolves around people oogling her and her ‘friends’
Nah, i just don’t think it’s a big deal, maybe Kendra doesn’t either, but that comment about hoping for the man not to look caught my eye…
yea i just thought it was wierd for her to say too!
i think that if ur whole career and life have been based on your looks like hers has, you are naturally going to worry about what happens when u lose them. One of the reasons her husband fell for her will be because of her looks, not the only reason but its bound to be one of them. im not surprised she found it hard!!
Culture shock? Is she stupid or is she… stupid? LOL
Oh, shut up! “I’m so used to being hot and fit”.
Could she be any more full of herself? Am I supposed to feel bad for her? Cause I don’t…go whine somewhere else.
“Culture shock” LOL!! Oh kendra…
she definitely has a problem with her body, because she can’t talk about anything else!
BTW she looks like Heidi Montag in this pic!
That’s exactly what I thought too!
That’s probably one of the dumbest things i’ve ever heard. How can such people be famous and looked up to and so on? Makes you wonder about the world we live in.
LOL! I love her anyway;) She seems very genuine. She’s sweet and fun so I just take some of the things she says with a grain of salt.
@ Julchen- You’re right! I thought it was Heidi at first! WOW!
…..All I have to say is that people like this shouldn’t have tons of money or be featured in magazines or be in the public eye at all. Ever. If she was a 14 year old girl this wouldn’t be quite as bad. Unfortunately, she’s a grown woman. It terrifies me that she will be raising a child.
Intelligence should be valued more than “looks”.
Easy solution for her breast size complaints: get rid of the implants.
I can understand her being depressed about losing her figure, especially since it was her career. I’m glad she is not honest about it, rather than being the type of celebrity that starts talking about how great and womanly their mom-body is, and then you see them on a cover with the caption, “I lost 30 pounds and never felt better!”
But still…I get such a repulsion from her. The fact that she was in the same room as Hugh Hefner let alone his girlfriend…bleh. So gross. And now she had a baby. Double bleh.
Oops, I meant honest.
At least she’s being honest??? Yeah, she’s honest all right, and completely self absorbed. I won’t give this woman one more second of attention, she doesn’t deserve it. Next…..
she’s referring to the fat people culture
I see what some of you are saying about her lack of intelligence…HOWEVER, THAT is another part of the “character” she plays. People watch her because she’s gorgeous and acts dingy. I’m not saying that it’s all an act but I do think she is encouraged to PLAY UP the dumbness for her show. The world is a scary place and there are people out there who I find a lot worse off than Kendra. Octo-mom for example.
what a class act
such a selfish person, only worried about her body and looks…what about ur baby? that’s the beauty behind it all
yeah, kendra must be suffering. she talks about food, fitness and bodies all the time in her twitter.
she’s funny, but its kind of getting boring…
i dont really like her.. for some reason she really annoys me on her show
btw kendra welcome to how real girls feel!
i read that she was in huge depression over everything. i hope she gets better but wow i guess ive never come over someone whos used to being the shit and going into looking shitty. now we know how they feel
I dunno, I find her honesty refreshing. Most of the women I know feel exactly the same way about their post-pregnancy bodies. I never believe those celebrities that go on about how much they love their new curvy figure. I think she’s just being honest. Plus, I’d focus on my body too if that were my job, like it is hers.
I agree with you and i actually do like her she lives out on her body she is a model and you can’t blame someone for not being as book smart as the rest and focusing in what she can do best and that is sports and fitness, i’m not saying that is a big tragedy but it must be hard to be one way your whole life and relying on something and suddenly feeling like it’s gone
ps: forgive my english xD
culture shock…?
