Jessica Alba: “I Wore a Girdle”
February 5, 2009 in Hollywood Moms, Jessica Alba by Versus

Jessica Alba recently did an interview with Elle Magazine – Here’s what she had to say:
-On snapping back into shape so quickly after giving birth: “I did it for the Campari job. [The workouts] were horrible. I cried. And I haven’t worked out since.”
-Her secret to looking slim after giving birth: “I wore a girdle. Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack. She told me to put an elastic band around my waist – any kind of band or girdle works. She was like, “I slept in it.” I didn’t recover as fast as she did. I don’t have a six-pack – that’s just not my body at all.”
-On having an exotic look: “Anyone who’s part of pop culture is going to be sensationalized and spun into something, some one-liner. Also, there aren’t many other stars, besides Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez, who most people in the world can related to. We look like people of the world – I can kind of mix in with girls in Asia, South America, Europe.”
Poor girl – she cried during the workouts to get in shape for Campari and they still decided to give her a complete “makeover” in Photoshop.

I like turtles?
Asian? Seriously. Jessica Alba – Asian? HA! Who conceived this idea? I see nothing or nobody Oriental in this photo.
A girdle? Hm, Jessica, you have finally lost the baby weight but it seems like you have lost your mind in the process. How sad that she was photoshopped – I found her quite marketable with the baby weight pictures.
Asian refers to more than just those that could fall into the oriental category. also, i think most of the asian ppl u are thinking of when u say oriental, are actually offended by the word. you have oriental style plates not ppl.
I’m not sure what you say by Asian style plates, but yes, I agree with you. I think that there are many different Asian cultures such as Oriental (which are Chinese, so Luke could be right in saying that she does not look like that) yet also Middle Eastern, Indian, Indonesian, Russian.
I’m half Asian (East-Asian) and I do not find it offensive, but it is true that many do.
I always assume ‘Asian’ as being East-Asian, but in the UK it can often mean South Asians. I find it silly that people put them all under the umbrella ‘Asian’ and do not make a distinction when South Asians are the same as white people (structurally) with darker colouring and East Asians are their own separate category.
Anyway, I do not think Jessica could pass for an Asian, whether East- or South-Asian. Maybe white mixed with Asian, but she would still stand out with her light hair, skin colouring and eye size and shape.
As for her crying during her work-outs… What? Was she forced to take them? Was she pushed to continue even when her body was aching too much? If she has a trainer who made her do that, he/she should be fired. It is never healthy to carry on going when your body is telling you to stop. Either that, or the trainer isn’t showing her the moves correctly and she did it wrong.
Sad that she felt she had to wear a girdle after having her baby.
she could almost pass for middle eastern.. im thinking lebanese hehe her natural skin is more tanned than the majority of lebanese (but we tan quickly!) and lebanese ppl and arabs in general have different looks…. sometimes its hard 2 tell if someone is an arab or not.
btw salma hayek is half lebanese
they all get photoshopped baby weight lost or not
Agreed. But I think the original pictures were better.
Is it me or she’s starting to have veiny arms like Angelina and Madonna??
It’s you!
hahaha
really??!! but seriously….. look at those hands!
yes, her hands (not arms) look a bit veiny, but i think it’s because of the blood circulation (her fingers are pointing down), it also happens to me sometimes.
PS: if you look carefully at other Jessica Alba pictures, in this position they always look that way. As for comparing her with Madonna or Angelina…c’mon! she looks healthy, not to skinny, not over-toned…
btw what kinda girdle do u guys think she wore? like full midsection or just a small one? im cofused…!
nice blog
Thanks!
I’m due in April and plan on using a girdle, I’ve heard it really helps, actually! But I’m going to just buy a wide Ace bandage, they work well too.
I wore this girdle after my son was born in april:

It worked!
a band around your waist to lose baby weight is nothing new. although it is foreign to western culture or “crazy”. jessica is making it seem more worse than it seems:
its a belly flattening techinque. used to push your boned that havewidened & spead during childbirth close back to together. while redirect your body t your psot fat distrubtion.
OR in normal words: Its banning your belly firmly to distrubute your fat eslewhere , while you lose baby weight.
Its no big deal. several woman do it . and its not nearly as extreme as tight lacing. as long as your regulate your diet back to normal, there is dieting or excercising required while using this method.
what happened to “hot” jessica alba? after her baby all we get is ugly ass alba…skinny or not…photoshopped or not….she had ugly hair, wears the most hideous outfits…and weird glasses that belong on 4 year olds….ugh….gross…
