Jessica Alba Is 1. Blonde and 2. Skinny
July 10, 2009 in Hollywood Moms, Jessica Alba by Versus

Part 1: I know Jessica has been blonde for a while, but the ponytail she’s been sporting didn’t allow us to get a good look. Well, here it is!
And Part 2: Jessica is back to skinny. Proof below:

I liked her a lot around THIS size!
Share your thoughts on Jessica’s hair and thinness!

how do they DO this??? anyone know? It’s the legs that are tripping me out (lohan’s too).. it’s like they can actually change their body type.
I like Jessica but she look exhausted and sad. I am not saying she has to smile all the time and I know she has a baby but she looks nothing like she used to. She looked so good with more weight on and know she look wornout and unhappy.
i usually like brunettes better, but i think she looks best with this hair color. as for being skinny, too bad she’s losing weight, her body is extremely hot with more curves
I like this hair color too and I think she looks a LOT better without bangs
I agree!
And what comes to her body, I think she looks really good here, but her body is more special while she´s a littler heavier. She looks a bit more common at this size and she´s one of those who actually carry their weight in a really good weight. She´s not on of them who has to stay thin to look good. And her face is always prettier when she´s not skinny, since she has a really strong jawline which sometimes appears quite long and harsh when she´s skinny. But still looking great here!
i agree about the bangs but not the hair color. i think this hair color washes her out.
don’t like how thin she is either
First of all, I love her so I’m not hating. I don’t really care for her body weight but that hair color is horrible, sorry. It washes her out and she looks much, much hotter with dark brown hair (ala Dark Angel Season 2).
IMO, I prefer Jessica with a more brunette hair color. She definitely back to being thin, but at least she’s not looking overly frail…yet.
blond hair with this skin colour= no-go! neither natural nor classy, imo.
liked her jeans btw..
Oh noooooo Jessica!!!!!
This kind of platinum blond is way too light for her ….. a shade a bit darker would be less flashy and look more natural.
I also think that she’s shedding too much weight. She used to be such a glowing beauty, now she seems older and depressed. Sad.
agreed.
me too!
to skinny for my taste…
She would look MUCH better if she put on 10-15lbs. Her curves are GONE!!
I love the new size!!
I prefer this size too. And thank God the bangs are gone. She only looks sad because she’s probably sleep-deprived from the baby, annoyed by her husband, or both.
how did her hair grow that fast?? I got my hair cut around the same length the same time she did and it’s def not that long.
She’s looking a little drained. The body is fine, but the face is rough.
This look is so unattainable for 95% of women out there. The other 5%? Well, you’re the lucky ones, I guess. This look seems to be the most popular whether or not we women admit it. Obviously, this is NOT her natural shape. Going back in time, she looked way more natural and pretty. She obviously is TRYING for this look. Not a fan of the hair, but don’t hate it. I personally think that she’s a pretty girl and her daughter is adorable.
Women can’t win. I promise you if she gained weight you’d see a bajillion catty women screaming “OMG She’s getting fat”.
And the patriarchy continues.
The “patriarchy”? Seriously? IMO, it’s WOMEN that further the “perfect body” ideal, not men. I see more negative comments about the subjects of this site coming from feminine seeming names than I do from masculine seeming names, and more of the negative posters claim to be female than male. Sorry, not everything is the fault of the “patriarchy”, sometimes we women really are to blame for some of the things perpetuated by society/media, like some of the idiotic ideals surrounding the female form.
Where do these standards comes from? Why do these standards exist? Why do women continue to suffer to achieve them? When you have the answers to the questions at hand you will see much of it comes from the current patriarchal order. I do not doubt females are more critical of other females but even this stems from misogyny.
“Where do these standards comes from? Why do these standards exist? Why do women continue to suffer to achieve them?”
Not from or for heterosexual men, IMO. How many heterosexual men have you seen say “Ugh, she’s fat, she needs to lose weight” of a woman that is a normal, healthy size? Not that many, right? That’s something that usually comes out of a woman’s mouth or a person that is “in the know” about “fashion”, and let’s be real here, that’s not a thing that a lot of heterosexual mean are “in the know” of. Not saying they are ignorant or anything, they just don’t care about it as much as women do. If I were to let the fashion industry dictate my views, I would think that I need to be approximately 100 lbs. with measurements that would put me in a size 0(or have me shopping in the juniors section, since I’m short, and would put me at a size to where I look like a girl that is between 10 and 13 years old). BUT, when I listen to what men like, I realize that my 5’2″ frame looked good and desirable at 130 lbs. and wearing a size 8. So you tell me, who, exactly, is the one that made theses standards and why they still exist? Why women make themselves suffer to achieve them?
“I do not doubt females are more critical of other females but even this stems from misogyny.”
I’m sure it does, but it’s not only men that are guilty of such a thing. And in this particular case(the beauty ideal we are discussing here), I don’t think it is something that stemmed from men, it’s enforced and encouraged by women.
If men are more forgiving of women then why are women without flat stomachs not in Maxim? Why do we see the same body type again and again in “men’s media”? Why do we not see more women in control of media outlets? Of course women are enforcing the standards. When one is conditioned to a certain point they police themselves. Hence ED’s and BDD, it’s self-policing. You do not fit the standard so you punish yourself for it.
We can argue about the origins of the problem till we are blue in the face but the simple fact remains-the standards are mentally destructive for all human beings. Male and female. I don’t think they are ever going away and frankly i think it’s just going to get worse.
Agreed 100%… Men are more accepting of women’s bodies than women are. Women are always nitpicking and scrutinising for all those minute flaws, whereas men see the whole package and don’t even notice these minor imperfections.
Not really. Some guys can be hecka mean, but they keep it to themselves.. or check out the bastardly site or hollywoodtuna, etc.. thats a guys harsh opinion. Guys just don’t gossip on sites like this the same way women do.
That’s true, Joanna. Though I still believe women are in the majority for nitpicking. There are still women on those sites too. Though I suppose the statistics are also biased because these sites are aimed at superficial people who want to come and judge others’ imperfections. Or, at least, that’s the majority that they attract based on site content! It’s not an accurate reflection of the real world if it is biased.
I agree with you. In most cases, women tend to be more critical than men and men seem to like more curves, whereas women tend to want to be as thin as possible. If you look at men’s magazines, they mostly feature a curvy shape rather than a thin one. Of course there are going to men who prefer a thinner shape because they have different tastes, but they seem to predicate towards a curvier female. The men I know that prefer the slim figured female tend to care a lot about how their friends view them. It’s almost as though they’re using their thin ladies as trophies so everyone will think they’ve achieved a hierarchy, the cream of the crop female. Regardless, it’s a sad state we’re in when we can’t view a curvy female as beautiful. And when I say curvy, I mean curvy, not overweight or fat(which is a word I don’t care for).
The problem at hand is not that curvy women can’t be viewed as normal, healthy and attractive. The problem is that ANY woman who deviates in the slightest from the percieved “norm” cannot be viewed as attractive (yep even the gasp *fatties* they are people too). Being an unattractive woman is tantamount to being a Nazi or some other nefarious person. You can’t be a human being if you are unattractive. You don’t deserve dignity and you can’t love yourself.
All women (and men) should be able to view themselves as valued at any age, size, color of skin, sexual orientation, ability or status. We should live in a society which respects that ideal. I don’t care if it’s naive or far feteched. The whole idea that equality is far fetched should tell you how far gone the world we live in is.
Oh you are very wrong concerning men’s magazines. The last major study of Playboy Playmates showed the BMI had gone down to around 18% and the proffered shape was tubular/rectangular. I’ll try to find the study again. I had to do a long study of pornography, believe me the body type represented in most of the male media is not “curvy”. It’s just breast implants on a stick.
Okay, judging by this response and some of your previous posts on here, I will not converse with you. You seem to think you’re right about everything. You are not the only educated person on this website. I’m not even sure why you are on here. You come off as quite angry and not willing to tolerate any opinion which differs from your own.
Us women can be horrible to eachother when it comes to commenting on looks and weight. Our ideal is the Hollywood star. We want to be thin.
A lot of men instead like curves. But of course, if all women strive to be thin and show that the ideal is this, then more and more men will start to think that thin equals pretty too. In the end we just screw up for ourselves. I mean, if we all changed our attitude and started embrasing curves and started putting health before weight, than in the end the ideal wouldn’t be the skinny Hollywood star anymore. The same goes for cellulite! Who the h*** came up with the idea that it’s ugly?? We all have it! So therefore we’re all ugly?? Give me a break… Let’s stop doing harm to ourselves and start love ourselves as we are!!!
Both men and women can be asses. It’s not the sex that dictates that, it’s the personality. The shitty one. Check out posts over here where commenters call each other fat and jealous, w/o even knowing the person. Just b/c that’s the ultimate argument: you must be fat, therefore your comment should not matter.
If you are brought up in a certain matter you will take looks as an accesory, and you will be able to understand beauty. If you are educated by the media, then everyone is fat and ugly except those stars in the magazines. Of course, photoshop does not exist and anyone who says a picture is photoshoped is fat and jealous.
I like her darker hair much better and agree that this color makes her look washed out. I do love her skinny body though, she shouldn’t lose anymore, it’s perfect!
I think that skinny Jessica has the most beautiful body on earth, and i mean it.
She has the sexiest butt on earth, and also perfect boobs but that’s not it: even her shoulders her arms and her stomach etc… are pure beauty.
When she has some more pounds on her legs are too fat, when she’s skinny her legs are gorgeous. So she might be working hard for it but it’s worth it. Because now she has a gorgeous face AND a gorgeous body, she’s obviously and undeniably in the world top5. Really.
versus, i like her with a few more pounds too! what do you think her body type is? apologies if you’ve told us before! but i was curious because although when she gains weight she gets curvy… her shoulders are still wider than her body
It’s a hard one! I’ve looked at a bunch of pictures of her at different sizes and I think that she’s in between ruler (column) at her thinnest and a vase at a higher weight (right after she gave birth).
Jessica’s shoulders are broad, but she actually gains curves when she gains weight – the pounds go on her hips / thighs / bust.
Anyway, anybody who loses too much weight will start resembling a lollipop / skinny ruler without curves.

Hi VS!
Just want to know, I left you a message through the “contact” link about maybe doing a post on South Africa’s top models, have you recieved it?
Thanks!
Hi Maryna,
Yes, I received the mail – Thanks for the tips, I just replied to you!
The post about Lyndall is up – check it out here:
http://www.skinnyvscurvy.com/hot-models/lyndall-jarvis-sexiest-woman-south-africa.html
I am now convinced that most of the female posters on this site have some form of anorexia or body dysmorphia.
You too? Glad i’m not alone.
Agreed!!
That’s what my therapist tells me : P
I’d love to know how many here actually do. Always got the impression. I am one of them (anorexia, constantly trying to recover). I felt so miserable today going to the dentist looking like a walking 6 feet tall skeleton and fixing the teeth that I had ruined by purging.
And women are actually envious… – this society’s messed up!!!
You are probably quite correct in your assertions. I’ve wondered the same.
I prefer her a few pounds bigger. I think most women look best at their natural weight, not too say she doesn’t look great here, but she looks better when a size US 4.
What does IMO means?
I love her legs here…
IMO means “In My Opinion”. It’s the lazy way of saying it
Makes it quicker to type sometimes
oh thanks
But she looks better with a few more pounds
first IMO. in my opinion
I agree with versus, I like her better on her slim but curvy body and the hair what’s with the color looks sooo fake and washed out!! and she is way to pretty and sexy to look so skinny well imho skinny are not that sexy…
and btw men do “share” their opinions about women’s body type in fact there are guys out there bullying their girlfriends about being fat!! soo dont say men never say “ugh she is fat” or something because men usually date because of the first impression THE BODY!!!
and I also agree with the fact that some of the posters here suffer some disease like dysmorphia because some of the comments are way to extreme like lohan’s body the best out there yeah right!…
Her legs look slightly bowed in.
It looks like another attractive actress bites the dust to Hollyrexia and blondamania.
Too skinny; it doesn’t look natural on her.
I prefer her with slightly darker hair and 10 lbs on her frame. She seems to be reverting back to her Hollywood skinniness. She is probably trying to get away from looking like a “mom”. So many comments have been made regarding her change in style since she had her daughter.
raging eating disorder if i’ve ever seen one. look at her face – she looks sickly, like a cancer patient
lol. really? I’m not seeing that at all.
I don’t think Jessica looks unhealthy and she is thin but not overly so.
It is possible that she has an eating disorder, but it’s also possible that Kelly Clarkson does…point being that size doesn’t dictate ED’s. Heavier people can have an unhealthy relationship with food binging and purging too. Some people just have fuller cheeks, we shouldn’t assume it’s bulilmia.
Anyway, that’s just my opinon and to each their own.
Generally speaking Bulilmia is associated with thinness, rotting teeth, sallow skin etc not full cheeks.
Bulimia is not actually associated with thinness. You can be a “normal” weight and be bulimic. Also, full cheeks are absolutely a sign of bulimia- the glands become swollen. They’re called “chipmunk cheeks”.
As someone who has been diagnosed with bulimia nervosa and has had an ED for ten years, I can attest that the average bulimic is not thin or emaciated. Most are average or overweight.
I stand corrected E, i looked it up you are correct.
Kelly Clarkson is excessively overweight and needs to lose weight. She could be on the path obesity. I don’t want to normalize obesity or being excessively overweight either even though I’m overweight also. Actually, I wish all Americans whether too thin, anorexic, excessively overweight, or obese would maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. We are all over the map now and don’t know what is normal weight for someone’s body type. You have pro-obesity groups claiming that most obese people are that way because it is their “natural” body type. Someone like Nikki Blonsky would be considered “normal” to them. Then you have anorexic people, or sympathizers, saying that Victoria Beckham or Lindsay Lohan have beautiful physiques and “fatties” (e.g. Kim Kardashian or Beyonce) are “jealous”. On another extreme, some Americans call normal sized people, mostly women, fat for having a woman’s physique such as thicker thighs and more tush. Look at poor Britney Spears. She gained maybe 10 extra lbs and people are calling her fatty and her stomach a huge gut. I also dislike people calling someone thin for maintaining a proper body weight. To me thin is someone who is underweight or has a naturally slim body type. Think Paris Hilton. She appears to be naturally thin. I would not consider someone like Cameron Diaz thin. She is maintaining her proper weight.
How about we all strive to have balance and maintain a proper weight for our body type? That means looking at ourselves in the mirror and making positive changes for our health and ultimately sanity. For me that means losing weight, exercising more, and eating healthier.
I completely agree with you. People should learn to work with what they have and strive for health and fitness. In America, we have two extremes, both of which are unhealthy.
Aside,
She looks the same to me, except for her legs which are very small, other than that, I don’t see a difference.
The blonde hair seems to brighten her face, though.
I agree. Only her legs are looking too slim because her knees begin to look knobbly, but the rest of her does not look alarmingly slim. I don’t see ribs, shoulder bones or elbows jutting out sharply as if they are going to pop out of her skin any second. Though, judging by her legs, she definitely shouldn’t go any thinner than this and should probably even gain some.
Blonde shade suits her but IMO her hair colourist did his work badly because the colour is uneven and her hair looks damaged.
I don’t have an opinion about her body, though. Yeah, she looks skinny but not overly. However, I liked her a bit fuller because now actually she’s like a boy without any curves.
I’m a guy and I think she looks sick! She obviously looks worn out bc she works out so much and diet likes crazy to be in that shape…i’m all about eating healthy and keeping in shape but to work that hard to fit a certain image is just sad.
I think that she is wearing compression hose under her leggings, the kind that Beyonce wears when she struts around in a leotard. They really thin out the thighs.
I really can’t understan who celebrities who seem to have a pear shape or smth like an hourglass, manage to lose weight from their legs and actually change their shape. My upper body is smaller than hers, my ribs and hipbones are showing through my clothes, yet my legs look nothing like that. And if i would try to lose more, i would only end up with even skinnier arms and upper body. And it’s not that i’m skinny fat or smth and that is why my legs are “thick”. Don’t get it.
*understand how celebrities…
She has different body type. She’s not a pair, she’s an hourglass which means that she loses weight equally from upper and lower body part.
However, I envy those women who have slim waist and nice arms but their legs are not skinny no matter how much weight they lose. If I lose weight, my upper body part looks fine but legs get extremely skinny… :/
I think she’s a vase rather than hourglass. But at this weight, she’s starting to look like a ruler. She had some good curves before.
BORING.
She just looks like every other blonde scrag in hollywood now. Im sure the parts for ditzy cheerleader/ superhero will come rolling in now.
Sad.
Actually I’m pretty sure you are close to the mark with the superhero remark. She was in the Fantastic Four. The avengers is being slated for a 2010 release. The fantastic four are an integral part of the the avengers. Granted i don’t know if she will be reprising that role because i’m not one to keep up with that crap. I only know that tid-bit because of the ending of Iron Man/Hulk etc.
by the way, she has blonde extensions in, underneath. Her real hair length now is just under the shoulders.
too skinny, she looked better before on that movie sin city, and her hair washes her out big time, i don’t like it, she looks unhappy and unhealthy..
FOR ME, JESSICA ALBA IS THE SEXYEST WOMAN ALIVE!! I SIMPLLY LOVE HER. I THINK SHE IS THE ULTIMATE BEAUTY. BEST BODY TYPE, BEST FACE FEATURES, BEST EVERYTHING!! JUST PERFECT.
I STILL THINK ABOUT THE SEXY DANCE SCENE FROM “SIN CITY”.
BY THE WAY: I’M NOT GAY!!! :p BUT I JUST CAN’T HELP NOT ADMIRE HER FOR EVERYTHING SHE DOES AS AN ACTRESS AND WOMAN.
WAY TO GO JESSICA!
I don’t think she is too skinny, she looks better skinnier, but her face is so unattractive…and with the blond hair she is even more “colourless”…with nothing special…I personally don’t find anything nice at her
I like her honey blonde do, it’s the best for her! a la “Into the Blue”. Really pretty imo! Not to mention her body looks flawless. I have the same body type and height (she’s about 5’7 ? )so she’s totally my body inspiration
!
Common face,unproportionated body
I think Jessica Alba looks knockout dropdead gorgeous as alway’s. She has looked great for a number of years love the blond hair she probably is just tired at this moment. Her daughter Honor is so sweet she’s a doll.
