Heidi Montag is everywhere today (and not for the right reasons). Here is a before & after comparison, plus a list of the plastic surgeries Heidi opted for. Note that the before picture is actually an After picture as well (she had the first round of breast implants and nose job beforehand). Neck liposuction?? Botox at 23? Plus everything else you can think (and not think) of. Oh dear.

Why did she do all this? Here is her explanation:
I was made fun of when I was younger, and so I had insecurities, especially after I moved to L.A. People said I had a “Jay Leno chin”; they’d circle it on blogs and say nasty things. It bothered me. And when I watched myself on The Hills, my ears would be sticking out like Dumbo! I just wanted to feel more confident and look in the mirror and be like, “Whoa! That’s me!” I was an ugly duckling before.

if that’s how she looks NOW ( at 20 something) I don’t wanna see her in 30 years… or in 5 :S…
I’m sorry, WHAT? Brow lift? NECK liposuction? BOTOX ALREADY????? You’ve got to be kidding me. This is overkill in the worst way. Her doctor must be rolling in dough. The more I hear about this, the sadder I get. It’s blatantly clear that she has an obsession, as she confesses, but I don’t know if she realizes it’s not a lighthearted matter. I think society now treats it in a lighthearted way because it’s cosmetic and it’s become increasingly popular through celebrity usage, but people getting cosmetic surgery are becoming younger and younger. Not through Heidi necessarily, but this craze, the commercials, the everything is just telling women that you aren’t good enough the way God made you. In a few months, she’ll probably go for more. Sadly, she’ll never be satisfied.
At the end of the day you have to like who you are, its unfortunate that it takes this much change for you to like yourself. But people shouldn’t judge, we all live with insecurities and probably wish we could change it if we had the means. Those insecurities are magnified when you’re picture is always on display. Its sad that a young girl feels so much pressure, but everyone has to live their own life and live with the decision they make.

It amazes me how lightly people take plastic surgery, as if it’s just a simple outpatient procedure. People die from having plastic surgery done. It’s a major surgery and to be willing to take the chance, all for vanity, is simply unthinkable!

i guess some people don’t like to be unique or individuals. I have flaws, but i can’t imagine having some other face… this is me, i like me. No, i LOVE me! And i’m far from perfect. That poor, poor girl. I only see despair in her future.

I’m possibly a little bit biased in this situation, because I have plans to get breast reduction surgery once I’m out of college. I’ve been cursed with boobs just a bit smaller than Hiede’s new Pam Anderson knockers, and have been struggling with the decision whether or not to get a reduction. I’ve been nervous, because I know how many things can go wrong – ranging from a little extra scarring, to a little extra dead.
Why in the world someone would pump up their already silicone boobs is incredible to me. Now, if addition to the danger she put her herself in by having the surgery, she’ll increase her back and neck problems, too.
Now, I’m not anti-plastic surgery, I’m just pro don’t-be-dumb-about-it.
And if I’m correct, didn’t she work hard to put on a little weight a couple months ago? Only to have it vacuumed out?
I have large breasts too, but having a reduction can actually been medically necessary for large breasted women and in Canada is totally covered.
I’ve considered it but worry about not just scarring, but keloid skin since I’m a black woman and the chances are higher. But I know a few people who have done it (black) and had little to no scarring. But know my luck…shoot…
Yeah, I’m not quite at the point where it’s medically necessary, however, they’re so disproportionate to the reset of my body that I would feel much more comfortable if I was a couple of cup sizes smaller.
My aunt had a botched surgery and came out with these white scars all of her breasts. It worries me, and I know compared to some other stuff that can happen that’s not even very serious.
I also hear it can affect your chances of breast-feeding because the baby is not able to attach to the breast correctly due to the fact that they have to removed the nipple that may affect how the nipple…puckers (lol couldn’t think of a better term for it lol).
i know a few people who have had it done, and for one it did go quite badly wrong. she had to go back in about a year, or nearly a year afterwards and have another surgery to correct it and it took her a good long time to recover. when she came back to work she was still in pain.
have considered it myself, but am very scared of surgery and that story plus the risk that you may not be able to breastfeed afterwards have completely put me off.
i am lucky that i don’t get back pain. its really just a cosmetic thing for me, and i do believe in accepting yourself. i know that i would never judge others the way i judge my own body and worry if i start down this route, like heidi, i might not be able to stop. there will always be something i need to fix.
Ladies, I’ve known women who have been considering this surgery and once they realised they were wearing the WRONG sized bra and got fitted, the back and neck pain went and they were much happier. I would highly recommend going to a place like Bravissimo or Rigby & Peller’s to get fitted if you’re in the UK (people who measure by eye and trial and error, they will NOT dictate to you that the measuring tape is never wrong, nor force you to buy an ill-fitting bra just to sell something). Don’t go to a crappy place like Victoria’s Secret to get fitted!
I’m in the same boat. It’s so frustrating having to wear two sports bras to exercise and I hate how swimwear/pretty dresses are so limited.
I’m not going to get surgery as I want to breastfeed if i have kids but after I’ve had them I might consider it.
I have a family member do that and it worked great for her. She feels lighter (she had back pain) and the scars are minimal. I think if you ever decide to go for the surgery you have to not let just any surgeon do it, but to look for a reputable one, even if that means paying for it yourself. As for the scars they can be treated with laser with good results.
I struggle with large breasts too, My back always hurts. I would like to get a reduction but, also like you i’m afraid of scarring and other things going wrong. There should be more awareness about this issue in america.
Cleo, I had Breast Reduction when I was 20 (I had Es on a size 6 frame). It was the best decision I ever made. I’m 32 now and just love that I”m a large B/Small C. No back problems, I can exercise easier, find clothes that fit me and people actually look me in the eyes now.
I didn’t get much scarring. My mother had to have it done back in the 80s when it was a more serious surgery and she has more scars than me but she have never regretted it.
It’s actually really sad what she’s done to herself!
She was a pretty girl, and she became a bimbo, next step: porn ? Bunny ? Singer ? =>I don’t think so ….
There’s insecurities (we all have those) and there’s total denial of the self! I don’t put much stock on psychology, but she clearly needs a therapy to accept herself as she is (which is a really pretty girl with a nice body). She’s going to destroy herself and wake up at 30 and not recognize the girl in the mirror (if it’s not already happened)….
I just can’t believe her surgeon let her do all those surgeries. He should be ashamed of himself, taking advantage of people’s insecurities! He shouldn’t be able to practice!

I say GOOD FOR HER. She looks good. There is nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself. Don’t go overboard, and love who you are, but a little change is nice.

None of them were at all necessary and I honestly think she looks absolutely ridiculous now and she looked much better before. I feel sad for her, the insecurities she must have! It is really extremely sad that a young woman would go to this extreme for “beauty”, plastic surgery is supposed to enhance someone’s beauty, she completely changed herself. I do not see the girl in that lowest picture in her after pictures AT ALL.

This is just sad. She is too young to be doing all those surgeries. What is perfection? Will getting plastic surgery really help with insecurities? Especially since there is no such thing as perfection.

I don’t think it is fair to blame someone else for this. Her insecurities probably existed before meeting Spencer. Maybe this was her decision, independent of him.
i understand that 100%. she has always been insecure, as we know, but it is not news that he has been very controlling and dominant of her. i don’t think that alot of this would have ever happened without him. he has done nothing but pimp her/himself/their entire relationship out to the press. carrying her playboy cover around to premiers, etc… it’s sick.
I agree Camille! Just like most predators he preyed on Heidi’s insecurties and impressionable personality. He promised her the world if she’d stick with him. He runs her entire life, he’s seperated her from her family, tore her from her friends and now this. He is very controlling.
I agree – he seems so manipulative. I remember in the first season of the Hills she broke up with her boyfriend because even though he loved her, she wasn’t getting treated they way she deserved – but now she lets some guy complelety control her. I know the Hills is completely fake but all their publicity stunts all seem driven by him.

In a way I pity her, for she is seeking something she will never find. I must say, It takes a CRAZY famew*ore to admit to allll those surgeries.. but in her mind, it landed her the cover of a magazine.. so it was worth it! soo sooo sad.

actually the first thing that i noticed about the now picture is her face..i don’t see much difference in her body-apart the obiouvsly enormous boobs, but i’m kind of indifferent to breast surgery..i’ve alredy seen it all,

I agree, When I saw the cover, My first thought was, ‘Wow. That’s a TERRIBLE picture!” She went from looking naturally beautiful to looking like a creepy barbie.

I just feel painfully sad for her. I don’t even know why I care so much but I just wish someone would help her. I don’t even want to get into all of it but I just can’t imagine what she is going through inside to feel the need to do this to herself. You know, mae, I think what you said is so important to take note of. You said that seeing her makes you feel insecure and wish to get surgery too. I think this is what Emmy Rossum was referring to when she was saying that plastering her on the cover will undoubtedly send a bad impression to women out there. Like we need anymore. Kids and adults aren’t that different, in regards to how much they’re influenced from what they see or what society lauds around them. Hopefully you try the route of just uber-loving yourself instead of changing everything you don’t love.

I’m of the thought most people are disgusted by her look because they know it’s fake. If they didn’t know she had surgery most people would be all over how great she looks.
I completely disagree ann. I think everyone is saying this about how she looks because of the fact that it looks extremely fake! I have seen women with plastic surgery that looks good. Good primarily meaning natural, most people get plastic surgery to enhance their looks in a natural way, not to purposely look extremely weird and fake. Her new face and boobs look absolutely hideously fake in my opinion, no one would ever look like this naturally. I do not think that if people did not know she had surgery they would be saying she looks great, I think people would likely be saying that there is something weird going on with her face.
You are not thinking objectively. You know it’s fake therefore you will be repulsed by it. If you didn’t know it was fake you wouldn’t care because you wouldn’t know unless you have trained yourself to look for such things. I don’t think the face work is overly unnatural. The breasts are bad for certain but the face looks fine.
If you can’t admit the observations are already skewed in a certain direction because of the inclusion of certain data points, you are being intellectually dishonest.
Well I of course know that plastic surgery exists so I cannot look at it without that in mind. But honestly looking at her imagining that I had no idea she had work done (just like we usually don’t with other celebs) I still would think there is something weird about her face as well as her breasts. What I am saying is that I do not think she looks bad BECAUSE it is fake, I just think she does not look good period. There are plenty of other people who I know had surgery and I think their enhanced looks look great despite the fact that they are fake. I am not at all repulsed by it nor do I have issues with plastic surgery, I think it can look great. I just think that she went so completely overboard that she distorted her face and body to the extent that it is no longer attractive in my opinion. You are not being honest. You can’t just remove the thought of the surgery from your mind and then proclaim it’s an honest opinion. That’s the problem of perception. Once something is perceived it cannot be unknown to you. Literally you cannot remove something from your mind and it’s disingenuous to say you can.

honestly, withouth knowing how she looked before and even thinking that the second picture was completely natural i would consider her really ugly..like really..her face is completely distorted, and i would think that even if the girl was all natural…
I think that is a good point. There are a few things that look a little off on her face, but I don’t think it looks disgusting.
If I didn’t know she had had surgery, I would find the boobs obvious and would also be suspicious of the nose, lips and eyebrows because the nose looks a little unnatural to me (think it is flesh around the nostrils compared to the rest of the nose, but maybe closer up it looks normal), the philtrum (above cupid’s bow of the lips) doesn’t look defined enough and the eyebrows are a bit too far from the actual brow bone. That’s all I can tell from the picture. The rest (of the facial stuff) I wouldn’t have a clue unless I saw her on a video or in person and her face didn’t move much.
Personally I think she looks a bit like a transgendered person now.

I really think she looks bad in the after pic, I just do not like the new look of her face it is “tranny-ish” in my opinion I just do not find it attractive. How sad to have that many surgeries at such a young age. I think if you have a patient this young wanting to “improve” so many things they should be ordered to undergo some pyschotherapy before and after the procedures. But then you’d have some doctor willing to do it, look at Octomom. I can’t believe her husband is in support of all of this. What a shame, and I fear this is only the beginning.

I can’t even imagine waking up, looking at myself in the mirror and not seeing the old me. How scary to even think about! It would be so sad to know that the old me is completely gone, and this new person has taken my place.
When me and my friends go out on the weekends, we like to do “going out” makeup and we will all pretend we are makeup artists and do ‘out there, movie star’ makeup – the whole nine yards! And when I get home I am SO relieved to wash my face, remove all the fake liner and lashes, and see ME. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to never have the option of wiping away the fake and seeing the real me, and if it were permanent – how frightening.
I am sad for Heidi, I wonder how she feels when she is alone getting ready for the day, a small part of her must be sad to not see the old Heidi anymore.

Thats not true. Not all men love big round boobs. Different men like different things. Some men prefer petite more flat chested girls, some don’t. To paint all men with the same brush is a little absurd.
Not all men think basketball breast are sexy. Most of the men I know like a woman with full, NATURAL, looking breast no matter the size. It’s more the shape of a woman than the actual measurements.

, I was being pretty serious too and wasnt looking for a “oh but youre beautiful anyway” response.
I was very surprised. He said he would be really turned off by me being so superficial and in any case theyd feel like crap and that he couldnt imagine me any other way because it was my “me-ness” that he loves.
I think guys might like looking at pics of girls with bolt ons but in real life they wouldnt like it so much! Case in point Victorial Beckham had implants (but at the time..) Rebecca Loos didnt.
Not true. While some men may like huge fake boobs, the latest survey done on American men and what kind of breasts they like is a little more telling: natural C cups was the most popular answer.
I have a friend who got her boobs done. She was a gorgeous girl before she got implants. She was a model for a while and when she did a shoot for Maxim, the photographer offered to buy her a pair of boobs. She declined but later that year, she bought her own. Her boyfriend stopped touching her breasts because he said they felt so unnatural. True story.

I’m gonna say the truth when I say I find her and her husband extremely annoying. But now, I feel bad for her. Why did she have to do all these operations, she was so cute! She looks like a completely different person (not that great, by the way. She looks like a porn star) and I do not like it.

Her breasts are so out of proportion to the rest of her body… now when you look at her… instead of seeing her fresh cute face, you look at her breasts, and wonder how she can keep from falling over. It’s actually a horrible breast job, as they don’t look even close to being natural. you can actually see right where the implant starts…

Im 19 and already planning a nose job for myself next summer before i turn 21. I’m self concious about it, so why not? Vain and un-necessary? Maybe. But its what I want, and thats the most important thing.
while i partially agree with you (i really hate my nose and wish i could do a nose job, and i’m few months older than you), and while i think everyone should do what it takes to be happy…sometimes is just TOO much.
you have to know where to stop. taking 10 surgeries in one day is not healty, both physically and psicologically..while your body needs rest to recover from the surgery, doctors advise not to take more than one-two surgeries at one time in order to let yourself ebrace your new looks..there are many cases of people falling in depression even after minor surgeries because they have problems with recognising themselves..it’s not a harmless game

there is a HUGE difference between getting something tweaked, like a simply nose or boob job, & 10 surgeries in one day. that is far too much, espcially for a girl that’s 23!! i’m 21, so i’m basically almost her age, & that is just too much for someone so young. & it’s not even that easy to reverse, so the outcome that she might not like something is pretty high.
i’m a psychology major & trust me, we’ve read about people who do these intense, drastic changes & most end up hating everything that they got done. it can indeed lead to severe depression, not to mention the fact that people can have really adverse effects to some of the procedures.
she’s doing this i’m sure to stay relevant & famous, which i think is sad. i also think she said she did it since she was a ‘pop singer’ [which is also questionable at best], & if so, not everyone has to be bleach blonde, have huge boobs, & long extensions to be a pop singer! what happened to the VOICE?! i think that would be what would count most.
overall i think this was a stupid decision. honestly. think of all the things she could have done with that money instead. if she is so godly as she likes to claim, i think that money would have been better spent going to a charity or something. plus, this is a terrible message for young people, like myself. i don’t have the best self esteem, but i could never see myself doing this. if this is the definition of perfect, then i really dont want to be like this. honestly.

Actually, if i had her money i would invest in the greatest books, the best trips to the most interesting countries, the best food and workout choices there are. Not everyone is vain and not everyone thinks their body is the most important thing in the world. Yes, i do have a nice body and a nice face; yes, i’m sure there are people who would criticize the crap out of them (too fat, too skinny, too bony, not toned enough bla bla bla the whole deal), but plastic surgery to this extenct is dangerous, sick and she desperately needs helps. Professional help. And anyone who thinks she looks great and would the same thing, seek help before it’s too late.

Im rediculously sick of hearing about it. She got alot of surgery so what. I mean this girl poses at the grocery store for attention…who cares! Also my brother had a crainiotomy due to a brain tumour and trust me that stuff takes a long time to heal and is very dangerous. He still has pins that move about in his head, the bone dosent always come together as it should and in cold weather he blacks out from the pain of the cold screws in his bone structure even though his surgery was performed by a world renowned consultant, not a butcher from the boulevard. She is a moron! I wouldnt wish that pain on anyone and I certainly wouldnt inflict it on myself so I looked less like a chat show host and more like one of Hef’s bunnies.
I have nothing against surgery per se, but the chin implant is madness. I always associated this sort of surgery with transexual males looking to refine their features which I can understand if youre trapped in the wrong body and suffering mentally.

i think this girl’s idol is dolly parton, who is notoriously plastic with HUGE boobs on a TINY frame. heidi even named one of her puppies dolly in honor of her.
I’m not going to criticise her appearance, because that’s why she changed herself so much. I think that the Hills messed her up, it gave her a distorted body image- I mean, I remember watching it and I thought that Heidi was the hottest, she had a beautiful natural air about her, something that the others didn’t have. She perfected all those little imperfections that every human has the first time, but she still seems to see a different version of herself than we do. She doesn’t realise she was beautiful, and still could be.
IMO plastic surgery can be good ONLY if it looks natural and is not taken to the extreme ie 10 surgeries. Im worried for her because this won’t be the end. I mean like 10-15 years from now those breasts will ethier have to be replaced or taken out so there is another surgery. Angelina Jolie is beautiful, there that is beautiful. She is real, and talented.
Almost all the celebs that you think are “real” and “naturally beautiful” have had some tweaking done i.e. smoothening the nose bridge, minor eyelid lifts to correct droopiness and enhance symmetry, lip enhancement/reductions (like Angelina Jolie), some Botox for lines etc. But the difference is that they’ve done relatively minor surgeries aimed to correct their flaws, not change their faces entirely like Heidi and so many starlets have done i.e. Shauna Sand, Holly Madison, Jessica Simpson etc.
IMO it’s perfectly fine to do some lip collagen if your lips are so thin they disappear, but not when you intend to blow them up until they cover the lower half of your face. It’s perfectly fine to get eyelid lifts if you’ve got uneven eyes, severely drooping eyes etc. but not when you’ve got perfectly normal eyes and end up looking permanently surprised or complete unrecognizable like Rose McGowan.
I think it’s sad when women go for extreme plastic surgery thinking they want to ‘perfect’ themselves. In most cases, they are already beautiful in the eyes of the many people around them who love them, but in my experience, most beautiful women are the most insecure. Having grown up being repeatedly told they were pretty and beautiful, it becomes their only asset, and then it becomes an obsession to maintain their level of beauty, because they feel that once it is lost, they would have nothing else going for them.

Rose McGowan had a serious accident that left her with the need to do RECONSTRUCTIVE surgery to her eyes. As a result she doesn’t look like before but hey, she was in an accident, and it left her scarred.
I didn’t know that, I’m sorry for using her as an example. I thought she was gorgeous before and was shocked to see her new look.
So is obviously very unstable. I’m not sure what else to say. She was beautiful before she had ALL this work done… and even after she got the nose/face work done she was pretty… but now she looks so much older… and very TIGHT… I think her facial expression in the photo is the only one she is going to be able to make for the rest of her life… hope Spencer likes that… when they’re… YA KNOW! ha ha!

Obviously everyone in highschool made fun of me, or guys would say “You’re pretty ….if it weren’t for your nose.” I felt very hurt when people I cared about said things like that but I just pointed out their flaws in return…ha! I’m NOT American! I’m European! And to be honest only in Europe did I ever feel good about my nose. Of course I’m not blind I knew my nose was slightly slanted…duh it was broken! And my surgeon who was going to fix my septum so I could breath asked if I wanted to get plastic surgery as well. I couldn’t even begin to think of how I would look after getting my deviated septum fixed let alone the whole bridge reshaped. I told my doctor after a month or two I would decide if i wanted the plastic surgery. I honestly looked different with the septum being straightened out, it took me a month to stop staring at myself in the mirror thinking “WOW I look different”. Yes I looked better, yes I can sleep better breath better NO MORE HEAD KILLING MIGRAINES!!! But I have decide to NOT get the plastic surgery I don’t want to wake up and look “not like myself” yes I’d probably look hotter but its my heritage, I am European, I don’t want my kids to get my nose and be all “Look you had an Athenian nose and fixed it….so I will too.” SECOND HUGE reason why I wouldn’t was the PAIN!!!!!!!!! I was swollen for 8 days, constant visits to the hospital every week to get things checked up and pain pain pain! So much pain ain’t worth it if you aren’t medically ill. People need to start accepting themselves more in America and stop changing and fixing everything. I think Heidi has taken it way tooooo FAR!
