‘I love my body. I still feel a little fragile, but I’ve never felt more beautiful and sexier. I didn’t know I could have this much confidence.
‘I see an upgraded version of me. It’s a new face and a new energy. It’s a new person and I feel like almost all of the things I didn’t want to be and who I turned into kind of got chiseled away. So I’m very excited for the world to see the new me and a real me.’
She admitted that in recovery ‘the pain was everywhere’, adding: ‘My head felt like it had a jackhammer on it. I couldn’t talk because of my jaw and chin… I was like, “I wanna die right now. I’m in so much pain. I don’t know what to do”.’

From these new pictures and the videos, I must say I really like her new face. She had a good plastic surgeon. However, it’s really sad that she has absolutely no expression anymore…when she talks, it’s like she doesn’t feel anything.
The issue here is not whether or not she’s influencing young girls to get plastic surgry. Underage girls can’t get plastic surgery without parents’ permission anyway. And if legal rights isn’t an issue, young girls are not as impressionable/stupid as everyone claims. I know I would feel the same way about Heidi and her plastic surgery when I was 15 as I do now, and the same goes for my girlfriends. The only people who have an impression on young girls are those who are successful, confident, beautiful, rich..etc. No one really wants to be someone who is so insecure that they had to get 10 plastic surgeries in a day. The only thing that younger people may lack is the ability to take into account surgical risk factors, but for anyone who has had surgery, I’m sure they can understand.
The issue here is why she felt the need to get plastic surgery done in the first place. Why she couldn’t feel comfortable with herself. Why we as women especially put each other down, “Her face is too wide.” “Her nose is too big.” “She looks like an anorexic stick of bones.” “She’s too fat to model.” I’m guilty of making rude comments like these too, but I try not to for the sake of others…every word/post/speech we make has the ability to really affect someone’s attitude towards themselves and their apperance, and I think we need to remember that when being judgemental.
I agree with you – she did have a very good plastic surgeon. If I didn’t know she had had 10 plastic surgeries, I may have just thought she had some lucky bone structure.
I definitely wouldn’t think that it was lucky bone structure simply because her face looks completely unnatural and mannequin like. Her face doesn’t move or show any expression, I can see how certain aspects of her face look better individually but all together she looks years older and extremely fake. I think she looked young and fresh before and now she has ruined that. Aside from the looks I agree with you Casey on certain things that you said and I would not have been persuaded by this when I was younger either, but others do! We all have our insecurities but some people have much more than that and are not as mature. I mentor a 14 year old girl through a foster mentor program and she is so impacted by these shows that it is shocking! She constantly talks about “The Hills” and those VHI “finding love” shows and how she would love to be on them one day. She has told me that she feels that she is not pretty enough though and has actually mentioned plastic surgery more than once to me. “Megan from that VH1 show she got plastic surgery on her lips my friend said, and she looks soooo pretty!” Sorry this is getting kind of long, but my point is simply that not everyone is raised the right way so some teens and young people depend on television to teach them things and unfortunately these are the wrong things. I completely see where you are coming from because I am similar to you in that I would have just looked at Heidi and felt bad for her I wouldn’t have wanted to be like her but others do not see it in this way. The happy image she portrays on the Hills is what they see, and to a lot of people that is the “successful, beautiful, confident and rich” image that they look up to. It is unfortunate but true in many cases, just wanted to point that out.
I agree with the comment above mine. i’m young, only 2 years younger than Heidi, & i think this is a terrible message to the young girls. Heidi said in the interview that ‘my message is always about the beauty on the inside’. if that’s the truth, you wouldnt have needed 10 surgeries in one day!! & i think she is an addict. i’m a psychology major, & anyone who is this young & has that many surgeries has some serious body dysmorphic disorder. it’s sad, but true. that’s really what i think.
sure she’s in a ‘different industry’ than some, but there are TONS of singers who didnt rely on looks. i love how they asked her to sing, & she wouldnt do it, & blamed it on her surgery. well, i just personally believe that she actually doesn’t have any true talent, & she’s banking on the sheer fact of her new looks to sell things. that’s really sad. whatever happened to having a good voice?
i just dont think they should give them as much press anymore. it’s a bad image for anyone my age or younger. i have a baby face & yea, i’d like to change it, but now Heidi looks like she’s 40. i’d rather have a young face & keep it that way then getting plastic surgery in order to make myself look older. that’s just sad.
i have a baby face also. i’m 26 and everybody thinks i’m 18-19. this makes me feel really good.and another good thing is that because of my baby face i don’t have wrinkles. my mom is like me. i first noticed a wrinkle at her when she was 43-44. now she is 48. so you must love your face. you win a lot.
as for heidi i also think she looked young and fresh.now she looks sad. even when she laughs she looks sad. she has always the same facial expression. it’s sad.

I guess I am so used to seeing Heidi as an object of humour rather than a serious role model that I forget there are a few that are the opposite.
However, I believe that the existance of plastic surgery and the knowlege that people get work done is enough to make girls consider changing their appearance. If Heidi didn’t get plastic surgery, it’s someone’s cousin. If it’s not someone’s cousin, it’s the fact that you can go to your local plastic surgeon, say you hate your nose, and he shows you before and after pictures.
I guess I made my post because people go on and on about young girls as if this is a strong relationship: Heidi gets plastic surgery, and soon all girls will be running to get their noses spliced off and fat lipo’d. There are going to be girls (and adults for that matter) who will be influenced by people like Heidi. But they are a small minority, and would have most likely gotten plastic surgery anyway.
I agree, a lot of them already had the idea of plastic surgery in their mind so Heidi is not giving them the idea of having it but I do think she is sort of making it seem like its okay. I mentioned the girl that I mentor but many other people do look to the television and celebrities to justify things in a way. They may have thought of getting plastic surgery but then when they see her People magazine story it just makes it seem like it isn’t that big of a deal or that big of a risk so it causes them to go ahead and actually do it. I don’t know if you know what I am saying but I just mean that someone may be thinking of it (I have on occasion thought of things I might want to change) but when it is glamorized in this way it is displayed as less than what it is and just something that everyone does, so it’s no big deal. I think that many people assume kids/teens are stupid and look at skinny models and immediately become anorexic and look at enhanced celebrities and immediately want to have plastic surgery, this is not the case and not what I am trying to say. I am only saying that there are insecure, immature teens and young adults who are actually are influenced by this and I think it can play a role in them going through with getting plastic surgery. The media has a way stronger influence than it should. I was 15 only a few years ago and would never have been influenced by this that is why it is still so shocking for me to hear my 14 yr old mentee talk about this kind of thing as if it is nothing.
No, I get what you’re saying. You’re making the point that some people will see Heidi go through it, and will thus want to do it themselves especially if they have already thought abou it, and that’s true. I’m just talking about the other comments, and the media response how they act like this is some great catastrophe to young girls everywhere.
Personally I don’t feel like Heidi is obligated to be a role model for anyone…she has a right to do whatever she wants with her body. But like you, I do worry about the galmourization of plastic surgery. Especially with TV shows like NipTuk. However, in this particular case I feel like media is using her experience to tell a “Look at what this silly Hollywood girl did to herself!” kind of story rather than “Look how amazing she looks!” But that’s just my view on it. Others might interpret the media in the other way.
Yeah, I always have gone back and forth thinking about that actually. I agree that Heidi should be able to do whatever she wants and she does not have to be anyone’s role model but then I think about all of these young girls who look up to people like her and I then I star to feel that they do have some obligation. For example all of the socialites who have gotten famous with their sex tapes, I know most girls look at that as something they would never do but some see what it has done for these girls and think it’s okay. I don’t know, these women should not have to worry about being role models and they should just live their lives as they want to but it just pains me to see that this is what SOME young girls look up to…
Oh my, I was so sure that those pictures were photoshopped, but now i realize it was true…so sad! Those new breasts are enormous, I didn’t think anyone could want to have breasts that big.
Heidi was cute before, and really pretty after her first 2 surgeries (she had both a boob job and a nose job, right?) but why this??!! SOOOOO sad…
I think that doctor of hers is an unethical SOB. To give her so many procedures in one day, even with her “age and health” making it “fine” is bullocks. Buttock augmentation, liposuction everywhere, cheek implants, ears pinned back, brow lift, botox, nose done, breast augmentation, neck liposuction (WTF!!!) this is EXTREMELY SAD. If she gets nerve damage and her face gets all twisted up, she’ll probably still keep going back for more. She looks like she’s aged 10 years. Poor girl. I feel very sorry.
Actually, her doctor is correct and the second doctor is wrong. It’s much riskier for a 23 year old to have 2 seperate surgeries than one main surgery, because the majority of the risk comes from going under anesthesia. Going under anethesia twice is worse than once, even if you have to take a few more hours to do the surgery. Also, twice the risk of infection and complications having to do with seperate surgeries.
When I had my jaw surgery (medical reasons, not asthetic), I had to have two procedures done. My ortho and doctor concluded it would be best to have it done together, rather than seperate for the above reasons, even if it meant being in the ER 2 hours longer. They also threw in wisdom teeth removal to get it done with.
I agree it is really unsafe to go under anesthesia so it may have been better to only go under once instead of twice. I think that most doctors would make that decision as long as it was under 6 hours or so but because it was 9-10 hours that is where the safety risk comes in. The decision had to be made if they should keep her under anesthesia for longer than what is thought of to be safe, or should they risk putting her under anesthesia twice. I think both doctors made valid points and I am not a doctor so I don’t know which one is more dangerous.
You do have a point Mariah, 10 hours IS a long time. I have absolutely no idea how risky her procedures were or how much anesthesia she had to be given, but I’m assuming if her doctor and anesthesiologist decided to go ahead with it, they must have concluded that one 10 hour surgery has less risks than 2 seperate surgeries. You don’t joke with things like that, especially not with celebrity clients. Look at what happened to all of Michael Jackson’s doctors.

Sometimes I think she may have something like Body Dysmorphic Disorder or another body-conscious disorder. It’s all very sad.

She is expressionless! Its creepy! The pics look like the posed ones in human interest sotories where women say “my ex con husband stabbed me fifty times”, you know the distant victim look.
Shes also pointing at her face like its a seprate entity from her, kinda like the way you treat new acrylic nails!

I think she’s still unfamiliar with her new face, hence the way she treats it like it’s a separate entity. I remember 4 years ago I underwent eye surgery to remove cysts growing in my eyelids, which had left me with very swollen, thick eyelids and very small and hooded eyes. I’m East Asian and was born with naturally hooded eyes and a very low crease, even before the cysts started growing (the cysts turned my eyes into slits), so when the doctor removed the cysts, he gave me a high crease (which was formed from the incision made to take the cysts out), and with all the removal of the lumpy cysts and the eyelid fat, my eyes became ENORMOUS. I couldn’t recognize myself at all because my face looked so different, that I treated my eyes like it wasn’t part of me. I even got startled whenever I saw my reflection. But 4 years later I’ve gotten used to this new look and take it for granted.
What I can’t stand about Heidi is that a while ago she made a huge fuss about the Pill and the implant microchip some clubs offer for VIP guests, saying that it’s unnatural and goes against “God’s creations”. I guess gigantic saline bags in her chest, pieces of silicon in her face and toxic substances injected into her muscles are totally 100% natural and given with God’s blessing!

I think she just annoys me because my brother had a crainiotomy for a brain tumour and had his face wired up to keep his skull in place and hes in agony even three years later, she is mad to elect to do such damage when she had a nice face before. She treating it like buying a new car. Loved your comments about the microchip too- i didnt know this! Shes very silly!
Oh no Heidi! I feel so sorry that she feels like she had to butcher her beautiful face for this. In my opinion she looks 100X better pre-surgery. Her nose looks fake, her chin doesn’t look right and her lips are a mess, and as others have said she is expressionless. Honestly, as for influencing girls, I would see her before and after pictures as incentives off of plastic surgery- seeing what she’s done to herself makes me more against it. She is clearly suffering from low self-confidence, and what she is aiming for, perfection, is not achievable and she will ultimately never be happy with what she has. And she clearly realizes she can’t sing, and refuses to without hiding behind an auto-tuner. Poor Heidi, she was so beautiful before and now she looks about 10 years older and a mess.

I feel neither sad nor sorry for Heidi. We all make choices and have to deal with the consequences of them. I think she would do just about anything for publicity. I don’t think she is addicted to plastic surgery. I think she is addicted to the attention it brings her.

I feel like her chin implants and chin shaving only made her face seem a lot more masculine and harsh. Her eyes look extremely large now, thanks to the eyebrow lift…in a creepy way, like she popped right out of an anime or something.
I don’t understand why young people get Botox to make their lips plumper. Typically the after-results are so odd-looking and look nothing like Angelina Jolie lips…I think it’s because the size of the lip remains the same but the lip itself looks totally beestung and swollen. It seems to make the lips protrude in a really uncomely way?
honestly the only good lip enhancement a celebrity has had done is keira knightley. they actually suit her. compare that to all the failures.

Yeah like older people or those who can afford it. Perhaps Lo, Lauren or Audrina will get something done (if they haven’t already) but I doubt it’ll be like ten procedures or whatever.
Now I’m not against cosmetic surgery but I don’t think people with low self-esteem should get it done. They tend to receive the worst results because how they perceive themselves and what they think is beautiful. That being said, its what they wanted, to look plastic.
I think if someone were normal (whatever you think “normal” is) then they’d go for a more natural look, regardless of the procedure. Like if you hadn’t seen them in years, they’d look the same but a little different like maybe grew into themselves or matured, not something you can easily point out (“Oh she totally had a nose job”).
So as long as the results are natural then okay (if you’re going to get one procedure done). But having multiple procedures done (at the same time no, several years apart maybe) and being so young, that’s another story.

I really can’t look at her now, it’s so sad. It’s as though she has no emotion anymore, she feels so cold and so harsh. Technically it seems she is supposed to “prettier” though, but plastic surgery does not make you pretty. Beauty is something God given and when you cut it away for some “better beauty” it is less special and the real beauty is now gone forever. I think her new face is supposed to be better looking, with a a supposedly “better nose”, and a better chin and what not… But nope, I get an extremely sad feeling just looking into her eyes, she is lifeless and cold. This is so so so sad.

I reckon she’s got some major self-esteem issues. Feeling comfortable in your own skin is the most important thing but it seems she didn’t feel comfortable. I wonder if she’s going to accept herself now and be happy seeing her completely unnatural body in the mirror. Let’s say she has finally achieved her desireable looks but I’m pretty sure this is not the end. Later she will decide she needs to improve some other parts of her body, so it’s going to be endless.
On the other hand, it’s kinda unusual she admits that she has some job done, while other celebrities usually lie about any surgical intervention.
Anyway, I think all these surgeries were completely unnecessary and I don’t see anything special about her looks now, another Hollywood bimbo… Nothing unique about her.
I think its sad that she’s been proven right in a way. I remember people (on this forum I believe) criticizing her face and her body, saying her face looked manly and whatever, and her body wasn’t very good/could be better. Now that she’s had all this work done, what do people say? “Oh, she looked so pretty before!” Do you really believe it, or it is shock & horror talking?
The whole thing is sad and whacked out, but at least she had a good surgeon? Who will hopefully have the decency to request/require that she spend some serious time with a shrink before undergoing any more surgeries. (won’t happen, but I can dream!)
I remember saying something related to this before: that whether you get plastic surgery or not, you lose either way. e.g. If you have small breasts people will complain about that, but if you give in and get surgery people will complain that you are fake. Similar thing with Heidi. I also remember loads of people moaning about her appearance and even after giving in and getting plastic surgery, people still don’t find her attractive. Before or after her surgery, it seems she has equal numbers of people disliking her looks. If we believe what she says, the only thing that’s changed is her own view of herself.
I agree with you Ella. It’s weird how many people all of a sudden find Heidi’s original look beautiful and attractive, when it was only August that people were saying things like:
“She looks like a man” (referring to her jaw)
“Nice body but she can keep the face”
“Butterface”
“She doesn’t compare to her costars”
And I’m putting it nicely. Now that she got surgery to fix her jaw and face, she’s “plastic, fake, Barbie-ish, tranny.” (although I do agree she looks trannyish, they get the same procedures done).
I don’t mind if anyone hates her new look, but it’s annoying to see people claiming that her original look was beautiful/perfect because I’m pretty sure I remember most people not finding her face attractive and being vocal about it.

She is definitely confused. I mean, after you get ALL this work done to become “the perfect” version of you, you can’t seriously with a straight face say, like she did, that you have a message of “inner beauty” for girls. She said in that interview that her message to girls is it’s about what’s inside. Really, Heidi? REALLY? Don’t say that to our faces and expect us not to laugh. I so agree that inside is what counts the most, but you haven’t demonstrated the principle you just spoke of, any more than you demonstrated your Christian principles (preached via “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!) in Playboy. Lots of people throw that “inner beauty” line around, but they’re the same ones clamoring to ensure that their outside is so perfect it become less subject to public scrutiny and flattered by all around. Unfortunately for her, she’s just receiving more negativity with this look, primarily because most of us can see how much more attractive she looked before this aged, waxy appearance.
I wonder what her mother thinks. In the Hills, she was always the one trying to slap some sense into Heidi. I wonder what her feelings are about her daughter’s transformation.

I can’t stand her anyway. She is famous for all the wrong reasons, and even the fact that I care enough to comment about her and her life at all makes me a little nauseated. However, I think she looks ridiculous and her “message” about beauty coming from within is a bunch of crap. She doesn’t have a message and if she does, it certainly isn’t that. In fact, for someone so “religious” and “Christian” she certainly doesn’t think that what God gave her was a blessing, or she wouldn’t have had 10 surgeries to “correct” His “mistakes.” Is this really what our little girls are looking up to? and pretty! its funny tho cuz she would wear big clothes, no makeup, and flat boots when she went out. then 4 seasons later she turned into this. a person dying for perfection, sex appeal, good looks, acceptance, that saddest thing is
that when she thought she didnt have it she had it. I blame it on spencer. cuz he always wanted a playmate wit big boobs and suppesedely only dated blondes and if he loved her so much he wouldnt have let her get alll this done. and for anyone who says that he didnt havethe power to stop her there wrong he could have given her an ultimatum something anything!
She’s not remotely attractive. Her face and body proportions are all off. I consider myself very lucky that no girl or guy I am friends with endorses this kind of look, nor do they find it attractive. The girl needs mental help, not surgical.
Also the fake eyelashes look ridiculous. They just add to the severity of her now masculine facial features. It’s terribly sad what she has done to herself and the message she is conveying.
This is really upsetting cause once you make a mistake like this its nearly impossible to fit. The nose would have been all I would have done if I were her – and she didn’t even need it. I’m so shocked.. Can’t believe this whole thing. I find ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS the fact that she actually believes that she didn’t have 10 plastic surgeries, just one and another one in the past. I’m sure the swelling will go down a bit more considering all she has had done, but usually most of the swelling is gone within two months.

Heidi did not need those surgeries, she was naturally prettier before and now just looks like an LA clone and at least 40!
