Heidi Klum Talks About Her Post-Baby Figure
January 15, 2010 in Heidi Klum by Versus
From Us Weekly:
Heidi Klum may have debuted an impressive post-baby body when she walked the runway five weeks after giving birth to daughter Lou, but she admits she’s still bouncing back.
“You don’t walk out of the hospital and get right back into your 27s,” she tells the February issue of InStyle.
The 36-year-old model, who admits that she’s still sporting her belly-panel maternity pants, is in no hurry to move past the perks of pregnancy.
“Everything is about love when you’re pregnant,” she says. “The baby’s being loved by you, the baby’s being loved by your husband [Seal], by the grandparents, by your children. And you’re being loved by everyone: ‘Can I do this for you? What can I get you? Do you want some M&Ms?’”

Generally I like people to be happy and full of love but there is something in her way she talks about it all the time, that is not very convincing.
i agree. its with all these models that you see a pattern. they either apparently eat a lot or dont work out cuz its natural. the only two models i believe are doutzen kroes cuz she was honest and shes not too thin and giselle boundchen cuz i think she is naturally thin but she says she works out and stuff. she eats quite a lot i heard. adriana lima is probably the worst. she eats whatever she wants all the time and hardly exercises. she also smokes/smoked. so i like heidi and everything but we cant trust people, especially models
Aaaw cute
well I can imagine that with the baby in the house getting in your 27′s isn’t priority and that’s cool
Love It. And this is a verrrrryyy different quote when it comes to pregnancy and trying to bounce back. I find it quite refreshing from the usual quotes like “I’m not obsessed with being perfect” *barfs* or the celebs who say they love their body when their pregnant and 24 hours after giving birth are back in the gym. Nice Post!!!
Didn’t model in a fashion show weeks after giving birth? How is that any different?
the difference is she’s not focusing on getting her size 4/6 body back she’s focusing on her kid
Well first off, I just feel the need to say that the fact that she admits she wears a 27 is out of the ordinary and refreshing. (Cough-Kim-Kardashian-and-her-25s.)
Yes, nice to know she wears 27s. Now I feel better knowing I can switch jeans with Heidi Klum
She is great:) And she looks amazing
M&Ms comment was cute
i agree, its refreshing to hear her say she’s a 27, especially considering its a normal size.
she’s so sweet
A 27 is still quite small, espcially considering that Heidi is 5’11. I like Heidi, but I can’t believe she’s only 36, I always thought of her as older.
she’s 5’9.5 not 5’11
I can barely fit into a 27…..the zip hurts a lot
It must be really unhealthy to starve your body into loosing all that weight and she only did it for VS to prove something…
i dont know if there is any evidence that she starved herself to lose baby weight…. this quote does not insinuate that at all. and at the VS show, she was clearly still carrying more weight than she usually does.
yes, she has lost a lot of weight since being pregnant but thats what happens once you get the baby out, breastfeed, lead an active lifestyle, eat well, and were in good shape pre-pregnancy.
she has a great quote. when some woman asked if she could look as good as heidi after having a baby, heidi said “i don’t know, what did you look like before you got pregnant?”
if you are out of shape and eat poorly and (im sorry) are fat before you get pregnant, you certainly shouldnt expect to look great after you have your baby. if you are a supermodel before you get pregnant, chances are you are going to look pretty good after you have your baby.
Its weird, the few fatter people I know who were pregnant, ended up being more skinny after they gave birth. Maybe it was the breast feeding…
What I meant is that she dropped, not all, but a lot of baby weight very quickly.
Now, my personal opinion is that cannot be done with healthy eating and exercise. If she only ate healthily and exercised she shouldn’t be able to participitate in VS due to their ridiculous body-image. I hope that made it clear.
P.S. I think you may have gotten the wrong idea about me. I’ve never actually had kids (too young)
sorry, the second half of my comment was not directed at you, maybe i should not have done that as a “reply”. i was disagreeing by saying she may have lost weight in a healthy way.
but the stuff after that was just in general, i feel like some moms act like its impossible to look good after kids- they almost use “im a mom” as an excuse for fatness. i hope i didnt offend you, i didnt mean to imply that you are a “fat mom” or anything.
yea i guess the breastfeeding can possibly make you thinner than before birth, or maybe some women who were out of shape before pregnancy get more motivated after giving birth- kinda like a fresh start to get in shape? so i can see why some moms might end up thinner. but for a lot of people who say they are fat because of kids, they were also fat before their kids so it makes me mad that they use that excuse. also it makes sense that if you’ve never really worked out and you have developed bad eating habits over the course of, say, 30 yrs, you cant expect to look great 6 months after you have a baby because it will take years to undo what you have done to your body!
ok rant done haha
What? She’s saying her goal is to get back into 27s but she isn’t in any rush to drop the weight. Just because 27 is tight on you doesn’t mean anyone who wears them is starving. You might just have naturally wider hips or something. 27 is a pretty normal size, it’s not exactly extremely skinny. I’m a 29 and I’m fairly chubby.
walnuts: thanks for clearing that up and yes the excuse some mom’s have in unbelievable. Perhaps stop eating and check up on those kids of yours!
Padme: you misintepreted what I said. I meant it as a joke but to be honest for a woman of 5″10 jean size 27″ isn’t that normal. It’s very much on the lower end of normal although not a fashion model. I myself is 5″10 and my regular jean size is 27/28.
She isn’t in a rush to loose all the weight, I agree, but she was in a rush to loose a considerable amount before the VS show. I cannot know how she did it therefore I took a guess.
I hope this makes it clearer
Love her.
I wear a 26 and I’m her height
5’9.
She’s real! We need more VS like her on the catwalk again: toned & fit, not bone and skin!
M&Ms = Love
A 27 is a size 4. That’s pretty thin.
A lot of these comments are scary. Some people here seem to think that a size 27/a size 4 is big or something….wow.
I’m a 29/a size 8 and I’m not anywhere near fat.
Sure it’s thin but it’s not exactly scary skinny territory. Nobody said it was big. I said it was a normal size.
I don`t know where you`re from, but I live in Romania (Eastern Europe) and 27 or 28 are a pretty average size. Here the really skinny girls wear 25. I`m a 27 and I look healty at 1,73 m (5’8″), slim but not skinny
Hey i’m from Romania too! hey there
And i wear 25 jeans but i’m only 1,63 m
Nice to know there`s another Romanian girl here! My sister in law is about the same height and she looks fabulous in 25s, so I bet you look great in jeans
there’s something about her, that makes me feel like she’s fake, idk, it’s like she’s not really so sincere saying all those. she’s generally very happy and positive, and i loooove people acting like that, but there’s something that pushes me away from loving her. it’s a fact that she’s soo gorgeous though.
The love during pregnancy comment reminded me of something my mom said yesterday. She had just gone to the hospital to visit one of her employees, whose wife had just given birth to a baby boy. The employee was relatively young and not particularly high up in the career ladder, and his salary was still pretty basic, but he had gotten a $3000-a-night hospital room (in private hospitals here you can get such rooms that look like hotel suites, complete with chambermaids, velvet curtains, the works AND medical facilities) for his wife. When my mom asked her employee why he’d spent so much, he replied, “It’s only natural to give her the best comfort when she’d carried my son and suffered for 10 months. It’s her reward and my way of saying thank you for her hard work!”
Cue “awwwwwwwwwww”.
Now that man sure loves his family! Very nice of him, it made me awwwwww as well
awwwwwwwwwww
