Even though she can still rock the runway in lingerie, 37 year-old supermodel Heidi Klum has quit parading angel wings and sexy lace for Victoria’s Secret after 13 years. Her departing message:
“I will always love Victoria and never tell her secret. It’s been an absolute amazing time!”

Mom-of-four Klum was dubbed “The Body” by Page Six after walking in her first VS show and then became the “Head Angel,” hosting since 2002 and stealing the show last year by stepping out in lingerie just five weeks after giving birth. Sources say she’s busy with her TV show “Project Runway” and a fitness clothing line. Her exit means VS bosses will have to crown a new top angel. With Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes both pregnant, the chief wings could go to Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrósio or one of the new generation of Angels — Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman or Erin Heatherton.

Why not? I think she looks great and I dislike the idea that all models should be the same / have the exact same waist circumference / same age on a runway.
I didn’t mean I actually think that… I was referring to fashion industry, especially VS. Not true that she’s still seen as THE star on the runway IMO.

erin, chanel and candice seem to young to be the head angel…alessandra, adriana and rosie are more experienced and older so i’d pick them

She’s 23….but I don’t see why age really matters. They all look like they all could be the same age. High fashion models all need to fit in a mold and I think ‘looks like a certain age no matter what age you are’ is one of them.
“top angel” lol. Victoria Secret is SO cheesy! Anyway, Heidi is probably ready to slow things down, she four kids for goodness sake! They’ll probably pick Adriana Lima to be their “top angel” since she’s so popular.
Some people get to retire in the best sitiuations! She’s only 37 but she’s in a young industry and has made a big success of it so she gets to retire, still relatively young to her kids and husband. Darcey Bussell was similar when she retired from ballet.

Maybe Doutzen or Alessandra, not that i’d think they’re the prettiest, but i think they have charisma and credibility as far as some sort of “head angel” position goes. Miranda is cute but too child-like to me, and the new ones, i just see them as beautiful at the most. Maybe with some time.. Adriana would be a nice choice, but i don’t know how committed she’s to the VS business at the moment. I don’t really care though, to me the angels are fun to follow and stuff, but i hardly ever like any VS lingerie, it’s a show, not a fashion line to me.
Heidi, you can definitely see in her widened tummy and hip area that she’s had kids, and as she hasn’t got the best WHR, maybe the tiniest clothes wouldn’t be the best choice for her anymore, but she’s definitely still stunning, slim and toned.

I think Chanel has the least chance by a mile of all the girls to become ‘top angel’, she’s way too new/young/not overly popular with the public.
I think the new Angels would be too young, ex Erin, Candice, Iman. Heidi was perfect it would be hard to replace her. Even though Adriana Lima is the most beautiful to me, she becomes less attractive whenever she opens her mouth. She doesn’t seem to compose herself very nicely to me, she kind of seems al over the place whenever I see her interviewed. Again, I ask, where is Marissa Miller? She’d be perfect? She is no longer a VS Angel?

aren’t Gisele Bundchen and Marisa Miller still VS angels? They, along with Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, seem to have the most experience so one of them will probably be the new “head angel”.

Adriana Lima because she’s been there for the longest she was an angel even before Alessandra and gives decent good interviews. Thus Alessandra can barely string together sentences. Candice wouldn’t be a bad choice either I love her. I’m coming around to Erin she’s growing on me she’s really pretty. However Chanel Iman should NEVER be head angel or angel period she has NO curves whatsoever I don’t even know why she’s with the brand. Rosie is extremely overrated and not photogenic to me. If Doutzen or Miranda weren’t pregnant I’d rather it go to them. The aforementioned girls give great interviews and have what it takes specifically Doutzen. I don’t know why they got rid of Marissa, Selita, Karolina and Izabel Goulart. For those asking about Giselle she was canned or parted ways with the brand when she asked for a raise when she was earning 5 million dollars already.
BTW Adriana english isn’t perfect but she gets by.

Tyra quit at her peak, and said that she wanted to leave like that rather than being dragged out because it’s more graceful.
I think she’s had a good run but she just doesn’t fit into the show’s theme anymore. She will go on to great things and has her own shows to worry about.
As for Head Angel, I think it will go to Adriana. She’s sticking around for at least 5 more years (her contract), and she’s the only one with seniority who is also popular with fans (Ale isn’t). Candice I think will someday be Head Angel, but of the new generation of Angels, not the current ones.
And I hope they fire Chanel Iman. Do not like. There’s plenty of other models of color who are better choices….Emanuela, Sessilee Lopez, or my favorite, Oluchi. Oluchi is so much better for VS than Chanel.
Actually, I’m pretty sure it is Adriana. She’s wearing the million dollar bra this year.

Both she and Oluchi are as beautiful as Chanel, but they also have some curves. Like you said, Chanel is more of a runway model. I know VS still somewhat sticks to the thin model trend, but their models are typically curvier than most other models, and I think they should keep it like that.

I think VS should choose Adriana as the next Head Angel. She’s been there for a long time. Most of the others are two young. My least favorite is Chanel, she is more representative of a runway model, not lingerie or swimwear.

what i would really love to see is some of these pregnant angels model. not at 8 months or anything, but i think VS should take advantage and start a maternity line.
i also tend to like their “meatier” models better. doutzen is incredibly small, but she has good muscle tone. i would rather see a heavier heidi than chanel iman any day
As far as I know Rosie, Candace, Erin, and Chanel are not even angels…at least not officially yet. Their spokeswoman for the brand but not Angels. Doutzen was the last one that got a contract.

agreed. Making a new model/contract the head Angel is like the making the new hire VP of your company. The head Angel has to be bankable (like top 10) and have some seniority. Ale, Adriana, Miranda and Doutzen are actual Angels and are all on the top 10 earners list. Anyone else would be ridiculous. Plus Ale and Adriana have been on the VS runway for the past 10 years.
since heidi is leaveing, i’m with a lot of people and say adriana because she has been there for a long time but i wouldn’t mind candice or some of the other models.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Selita was an Angel and they fired her. I don’t know if they would rehire her. But she is stunning, one of the most underrated models currently.

The leading Angel should be someone who can speak English properly and look good in lingerie.
Therefore Miranda Kerr does not qualify. Her body is too shapeless and even though she’s Australian she doesn’t have a good grasp of the language.

I completely agree, thank God someone else thinks the way I do! Miranda is cute, but she doesn’t seem very intelligent. I don’t get the fuss about her at all.
haha are you kidding me? she can speak english just fine…there are differences between the way Australian’s speak and Americans do. She has studied at university and has a degree, is intelligent from what i can see in interviews……..if anything she would be best suited to take over.

And I agree with Abby’s comment. Miranda’s problem is not the difference between American and Australian or British English. Her problem is the poor vocabulary and the total lack of gray matter when she answers questions. If you listened to her a couple of times I’m sure you heard her repeating “you know” and “it’s soooo important” over and over. In between those sentences there’s nothing but a big empty space!

She’s not the best spokesperson. None of the current Angels are. They’re all camera shy. Especially Candice, she seems to completely blank when she has to explain something about a bra or a fragrance. It’s not a question of intelligence, but rather confidence. Marisa, Heidi and Tyra were the good spokespeople, but they are no longer with the brand.
Also, you may not believe Miranda looks good in lingire, but a lot of people including myself disagree. Even as shapeless bony and skeletony as you claim she is, she still looks hot. Whatever happened to “VARIETY VARIETY lets have VARIETY in fashion!” Must all Angels have the same size and the same body shape now, just a different one than what Miranda is? How boring.

I don’t know about that. She was rumored to still be working with VS but not as an Angel. But she’s not doing anything with VS either. VS relaunched her fragrance with Alessandra, reshot all of her pictures with Candice, she doesn’t come to any of the events, promotions, or anything, and there’s 0 new VS pictures of her since January. I’d say that about sums it up.

and what about Marissa? she was the one that had worn that rocky-bra last year if i’m not mistaken…i used to think the model that wears the diamond bra becomes smth like a “head model” in VS…i’d totally chose Marissa, amazing fit not too thin body and maybe her face is not really gorgeous more like pretty or nice (imho) still, i mean Gisele and Heidi are also not gorgeous (imho)
But if we have only this “list” i’d say Adrianna, i’m also a big fan of Candice but VS had started to “pimp her out” not long ago so i think its too early for her to be called “head model”….
also on an unrelated note i wish VS would take Ana Beatriz Barros on board, i mean she’d walked the VS runway in 2009, she’s beautiful and has great body, i think she’d be a great addition to VS angels family
