Re-Imagining Wool: Ramblers Way
June 30, 2010 in General by Versus

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way Farm. All opinions are 100% mine.
When I first heard that of Ramblers Next-to-Skin Women’s Scoop Neck was coming my way, I was excited to see if it would fit on my “Things I Can Wear Every Day, Whether It’s Hot, Whether It’s Cold” list. My love for morning walks in the park which is perfectly placed right outside my door, shopping passion and my addiction to drinking tea by the sea on chilly evenings keep me outdoors quite a lot, sometimes from morning till night.
I opened the package and discovered the smoothest, softest top, with a delicately scooped neckline and an organic, natural vibe that I immediately loved. Soft, smooth WOOL top. That’s right: the top in the above picture (which I happily own) is made of the finest, chemical-free wool, which feels and looks so natural and cozy-comfortable and I absolutely love its ivory shade! My favorite thing about the top is that besides being quite versatile (and I would have never thought wool could be versatile) and “working” both on a hot day and on a chilly night is that it looks so… clean, ‘unprocessed’ (in the beautiful, natural, rustic-way) and organic.
Ramblers Way Next-to-Skin Women’s Scoop Neck top is actually made of superfine 18.5 micron Rambouillet wool, which can keep you cool and warm at the same time. And even better: this natural fiber repels odors (so you don’t need to wash it every other day) and wicks away moisture, so it will give you a “just got it out of the dryer” kind of feel. You can wear it as it is and go for a simple casual style, or you can go layer-crazy and add shirts, jackets or vests on top! The eco-friendly Ramblers Way products actually managed to re-imagine wool and convinced me to do the same: wool can be very soft and smooth, versatile and perfect for all types of weather!

The clothing on Ramblers looks really nice, but holy moly the prices on there are really high for the average shopper. I realize that they are organic and all, but jeez. Hopefully the organic industry starts to lower their prices on clothing. At this point, I can only afford to go organic in my every day diet. I’m sure clothing will catch on…as soon as the prices drop; lol, time to start thinking about legalizing hemp people!
By the way, that model has amazing legs…
I kept thinking this was a joke and was waiting for the funny part.
Then I reached the link to the sponsor’s website and was disappointed because of the lack of lulz, but I checked it out anyways.
It looks like good quality clothing.
so i guess shes being paid to advertise this??
it might be nice, but i dont think $75 nice…
I love vs, but i really hope this promotion of sponsors in a post isn’t going to become a regular thing….
I second that. There’s alreay ads all over the screen…
I absolutely love this site, and understand it costs $$ to have a site, but I would hate to have to scroll past these everyday.
Wow, you guys have some nerve! “Oh I have to scroll down”… reall, you are complaining about that?
Remember, this is a FREE site, it doesn’t have memberships and you don’t pay to access the content. I own a site too and seriously, if I got as many visitors as her and always answered all your questions, I would definitely make you pay to access the content, so enjoy it that it’s free. So how can you complain about a sponsored post? It baffles me!
Exactly!
I’m sorry but people need to use their common sense. How else do you think this site keeps on running? the tap?
Websites need advertising and advertorials are a great way to bring in cash.
I work in the media so maybe i’m more used to this sort of thing.
Nice promo post…well written for a good product. I personally don’t mind ads or posts like this once in a while, I enjoy this site and you should make some income from it!
Hate the talking ads though…Keep up the good work otherwise!
If it’s a choice between advertising like this vs those INFURIATING sound ads that start playing without any prompting and cannot be stopped, please Versus, chose this way.
Otherwise for me (and I assume a lot of people) it would just keep me away from the site.
I like to read your site by opening 4-5 tabs for the latest posts. Can you imagine the cacophony of sound that creates?
We really, really don’t want the sound ads, we don’t care if they bring money, we want them gone
! We keep telling all our advertising companies that they should remove them and they can’t figure out how they appear on our site. The thing is, I can’t even see them, since they show depending on your location.
Suzushii, can you tell me its exact location – like where is the noisy banner positioned? And can you click on it and give me the link to the site where it sends you? I guess that would help. Thanks!
I get the sound ads too…one is right below the related posts and right above the comments. There is another one on the right side right below where it says “select your celebrity.” They run simultaneously, and you can’t pause them. You can turn the volume down on some, but it unmutes when the next ad comes 30 seconds later.
You can’t click them so they don’t take you to any site. Sometime’s it’s an ad for Lysol Disinfecting Wipes. Other times it’s Looks for Summer. Right now it’s Trips to Europe.
They’re all incredibly obnoxious. And there is a rising trend of these voice ads on many sites. I always have to turn my comp volume off when I come here.
Thank you so much for the info, Casey! I’m writing another mail to the ad companies… hopefully the last one.
Sorry, Casey, unrelated – but I just clicked on your profile ’cause I always like your posts and I LOVE your avatar/icon thing
if you’re using fire fox – and i assume for every other browser-, you can download an add-on which is called Adblock Plus. EVERY single ad ( sound, picture, written) will be blocked (except for those of course, which appear in form of a blog entry). you can also disable this add on for certain websites in case you want to read the ads
I had a long time ago this kind of top made from wool. (it’s true, not superfine 18.5 micron Rambouillet)
) and you can not describe the feeling on you skin just after you try it yourself.
Mine top was blue colored and i had worn that top over 10 years (ok! not every day
In my oppinion it is not to much the price. Because that material in durable. And!!! (no offens!) But, exist on the market much more expensive clothes made from God-knows-what!
