Leona Lewis recently talked about a “horrid” experience: being pictured in her bikini. Here’s what she had to say:

How sad is it that a woman that doesn’t have anything wrong with her looks/body thinks it’s “horrid” and “embarrassing” to see herself in a bikini?

Leona is an incredible singer and has a healthy figure.
She is not a model or actress. She shouldn’t have to eat celery sticks to not feel “embarrassed” about her bikini pictures. She has a pear shaped, very average figure that definately is NO cause for embarrassment.
I think its horrible that people are calling her out on these “horrid” bikini shots. Poor girl, and shame on all of you! She has an amazing voice, a very normal sized body, and a lovely soul.
Go strut your stuff leona. and sing your heart out.

Well Stella, lets start with her MASSIVE man legs, and lack of toning on her top half. Were not here to talk about what a talented singer she is….which we are all aware of, but this site is for us to give our opinions on celebs figures and ive done just that.
Now to answer your question on how I keep myself from looking like her, thankfully I was not born with “tree trunks” (cause unfortunately for her those legs are most likely genetic) and I make sure to excersize regularly and eat a healthy diet.
Maybe if she got herself a trainer and started working out, she could improve on her figure so she wouldnt be so horrified when bikini shots of her are taken.

She doesn’t have “MASSIVE man legs”, she has big, feminine legs. Not all of us can have slim legs, some of us have “thunder thighs”, and they aren’t unfortunate, they just are. Her upper body is fine, a woman doesn’t have to have obvious muscle tone(like Jessica Biel, who I do like) to be healthy, in shape, or pretty, again, some of us can’t tone up that easily, and Leona may be one of them. For all we know, she does have a trainer, and she does enough to keep herself healthy, but doesn’t think she needs to spend hours in the gym for toning she just might not get easily. I think the only reason she’s horrified and embarrassed is because of views like yours, that all women have to be thin and have loads of muscle tone. Some women look good “soft”, like Leona does, and I just wish there was more people to say that out loud in the media then people that say the crap like you say. Unfortunately, people like you are louder.
LMAO get real stella. what about the load of shit people would of wrote if that was lindsay lohans skinny legs?. we can preach all day that everyones different and that everyones beautiful. the main thing we have to do is stop setting up “healthy” labels and “perfect” bodies. and since when are people saying that all women should be “thin and have loads of mucle tone”. thats just ur view and ur excuse to defend ur ideal perfect woman (curves and “softness”). how dare we accuse someone skinny as being anorexic!! thats a disease! its like telling someone, gosh, it looks like u have AIDS! and this is just about skinny people, for im a full figured goddess, and have gotten complaints about my “massive thighs” as well, but i just shook it off, and didnt attack them. i wish people would stop saying im unhealthy cuz their image of perfection is nicole richie, but i also wish people would stop saying im healthy cuz they think the image of perfection is kim kardashian.
People bust on Lindsay’s skinny legs because she used to have more weight on her, but you’re right in that, they shouldn’t be busting so hard on her either. A lot of people feel that women should be thin and have loads of muscle tone, all you have to do is read the opinions on here, and in other places. I’m not saying everyone is saying that, I’m just saying they happen to be the loudest and most heard. Yes, I prefer a more curvy and soft appearance on a woman, but I also understand that not all women can be like that(Amanda Bynes, Cameron Diaz, both lovely, beautiful women, and I wouldn’t dream of saying either one of them need to “fatten up” to fit into my “ideal”), and I wouldn’t tell them they have to be. I’ve never accused a skinny celeb of being anorexic, I do understand that that is a disease. I don’t think Kim Kardashian is the image of perfection, there is no one perfect image, that was my freakin’ point. Forgive me for deciding that I felt the need to defend the “bigger” women. I think you need to take a chill and re-read me.

This is a gossip website about celebrity bodies. But that doesn’t mean we should still have unrealistic expectations or be cruel.
Leona does not have a “perfect body” as some might call it (depends on your idea of i suppose though, no?)
but Susan, in my opinion, it sure does look like she goes to the gym quite a bit
she has very strong thighs and calves. that seems to be her natural shape, she will never have skinny legs.
I am saying this as a 5’4, 107 pound girl who eats normally and hits the gym. I’m slim yes, but I do not have a perfect body. I am a classic pear shape as well, and I will never have skinny legs, even if I have a very small upper body… much like Leona.
I reject the idea that she needs to “Get herself a trainer” to get rid of her “tree trunks” that even you yourself admitted are probably her natual shape
i mean, get real. Saying “eat well and exercise” isnt the answer to everything. As a slim girl with a very small upper body and bigger legs myself, I defend Leona.
I think it’s really cool that more women are speaking out against comments like Susan’s. Just because you were born with smaller legs or whatever (susan) it doesn’t make it right for you to put curvier women down. So what if her legs aren’t naturally like that? it doesn’t make her gross. I think Leona Lewis is beautiful and that inculdes her body shape. We are all made differently and women of all shapes are beautiful. I think we all can be self-conscious about our bodys and it starts with Hollywood and their harsh critics. I agree with Steff and Stella’s comments.
If your body isn’t made to be “skinny” why force it? People can work out on a regular basis and still be curvy. There is nothing wrong with that. I guess it depends on how your body is.
Steff, it’s cool that you are not only defending Leona, but you are defending others with legs like hers as well. I too have thicker legs, and I’m top heavy as well. I consider myself an Hourglass becuase I have a very small waist. and as a curvy woman it sometimes hurts to see people like Susan, and even Musko make nasty statements about women who have similar body types such as my own. I do work out, and try to eat healty, but I guess that’s just how I’m made. Seeing celebrities with more meat on their bones it makes me feel better about myself. And it should be that way! Every single famous person shouldn’t be super tiny anyways. More variaety of body types to make all women feel proud. I think Leona Lewis is georgous.

So “Susan” you sit there and critisize Leona, but who says you are such a stunner yourself darling? How do you know people won’t be saying thank god they don’t look like you? How do you know people won’t actually prefer Leona over you, looks wise?
As Leona has stated: “People who are nasty to you, it normally stems from their own insecurities”, which you obviously have to take such a pop at Leona, who is extremely healthy and looks absolutely fine. You are a fine example of what the media, and people, have done to others who believe that nowadays every girl must be toned up, slim and “in your face” pretty looks, whilst every guy has to be muscular, sexy looks. Leona is an absolute inspiration, she may not like her body but she’s remained true to herself and kept her curves, she hasn’t buckled to the pressure and slimmed down. Leona has her own trainer (confirmed) whom she works out with now and again, and she has big legs most likely because she does horse riding, and it gains muscles on your legs, and probably because she’s just born “pear shaped” which is amazing for a woman to have that, considering most women are “muffin tops” with small legs and a hefty upper half. Don’t you dare sit there and put someone down like that, whether they are famous or not, they still have feelings and for all you know Leona could have read that, alhough Im sure a sad bitch like you, she wouldn’t take much notice of.
My final words would be to get a life, get some friends and start thinking about yourself, before having a go at others. OK SUSAN.

Okay — I guess I see where she’s coming from. If I had to worry about the entire world seeing me in a bikini, I’d be freaking if I thought I had even one problem area. But from my POV, Leona has nothing to be ashamed of. She’s clearly active and there’s nothing wrong with her shape. People need to be less concerned with being skinny and focus more on what’s healthy. SKINNY DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY EQUAL HEALTHY.
Leona, if you ever read this, I want you to know that you have a beautiful face and body. Ignore most women because they are too concerned with their own appearances to give you an honest opinion of what they think of you. Any smart, confident woman and any sensible man will tell you that you’re gorgeous just the way you are.

Ok I tend to agree with susan, leona is really fat in the calves and that’s not ideal curvy that is just fat, but if she toned the mess down she will have the ideal curvy calves!, and I don’t believe you can’t toned the calves, because you should never say you can’t, because you can! I hate people trying to say somebody is Jealous when they are making a correct statement about certain celebrities bodies that you guys like, because you like them you say that person is hating, she is not hating she just don’t like that body type, not everybody is going to like fat women or skinny women or normal weight women! Listen I am normal weight myself I have big thighs but skinny built toned calves its because I workout! And they are not fat like calves like leona they are built! I am 4’11 with 24 inch thighs but 13 inch calves, I am well toned now this is what you called a curvy woman not fat! You guys need to get your facts straight from what is curvy from fat! Curvy donot resemebles calves bigger than a man, it resembles a curvier shape to the calve not necessarily big or fat either! You guys need to come clean to yourselves if you fat, you are fat, and if you are thick, you are thick! You can’t deny that! And you guys know that for sure if paris hilton or any other aneroxia chicks come up on here, you guys are the first saying, dang! they need to put on some weight, they look bad, so don’t come up on here and say somebody is hating when you guys do it too! Everyone is putting her down over her legs but her stomach is in pretty good shape. The stomach is the most unhealthy area to gain fat on and hers is in check. She looks healthy, thick, and curvy. I am not so harsh and judgmental on the human body as some. I appreciate the beauty of a body like Jennifer Aniston’s but I would love to have Leona’s body. I see nothing wrong with it.
