Girls in Black: Christina Hendricks and Mel B at Creative Arts Emmys

The 62nd Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held at The Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles yesterday and lots of celebs showed off their puffy or tight dresses on the red carpet.
Here’s a pair who chose black: Christina Hendricks (35) in a gown that accentuates her waist and Melanie Brown (35) in a figure-hugging leather ensemble.

Christina Hendricks looks AMAZING! But, as somebody else commented on her GQ shoot, not very many people are lucky enough to have massive boobs with an hour glass figure. Most women with a bust this size are obese. Mel B looks like she’s put on loads of weight though. She looks a bit chunky in the upper arm area.

but I’d love to see more diversity in Christina’s outfits… It’s getting a little boring to see her always exposing her boobs and hiding her lower body…
well she did try a shorter dress once but it was quite the fashion disaster… But she has a lovely figure and I’m sure she could look amazing with some different dress styles.
thing is, she isnt wearing any different outfits from the rest of hollywood. Its just they seem like she’s exposing her boobs because theres just SO MUCH boob.
I know her pain. most tops on me have mega clevage. any tops which don’t are usually very frumpy looking. I’m lucky to find things sometimes which arent so bad, but plain tshirts are even revealing on me. Sometimes, you just have to shrug and carry on. I find a little clevage is way more elegant and flattering than uniboobs.

That’s why I wonder what the old fashioned underwear they wear on Mad Men is like. CH usually wears tops and dresses on the show with high necks or they at least completely cover her bust and she never looks like she’s busting out or frumpy. Maybe the bras back then had a minimising effect or the clothes could be structured to be more accomodating.
it is most certainly the underwear and the style of the clothing. I also think all of her outfits are tailored on mad men, so they do fit her properly. She’s wearing full, uncomfortable and constricting undergarments though!
Also, I think christina doesnt wear mad men style clothing when going to events etc, just to separate herself from her character. Its difficult when the style of clothing that really really suits you is very strongly associated with a role you play, so i imagine she indulges other sides of her personality (slightly goth, she loves black!) to make up for it.
Doesnt mean I and other busty girls can’t emulate Joan Holloways style though. I recently bought a beautiful dress made especially for women with bigger boobs (from bravissimo) and it was not only pretty and flattering, it was also fairly modest. Felt like I was going to a Mad Men dinner party!

Christina Hendricks looking ethereal and old school Hollywood glamorous!! Mel B, her body is looking good (always does) but not feeling the hair color and neutral blah makeup, its like she’s all one color!! The hair is especially terrible.

Mel B is packing on the muscle lately. She’s not super lean but certainly not fat.
Hardly a fair comparrison, Mel B has given birth to 2 children. Christina Hendricks is overrated and overweight. She has a corset holding her in at the waist.
In reality she has a sloppy flabby figure and looks nothing like this. She has a matronly figure. I like curvy women but I don’t think CH is curvy, she is just too big.
Kelly Brook is curvy. And CH is 3 times the size of Kelly.
I don’t understand why Christina is so poular. I know the real women brigade will jump all over my comment, but that is my honest opinion.
i agree with t. Christina is overweight no matter what anybody says. She just hides it the best she can. And as long as she’s not getting proper exercise and not eating well there’s nothing left to say. This isn’t about curves, it’s about health. Kelly Brooke is curvy and healthy. If christina lost weight her boobs would go down definitely. She would still have them, but they wouldn’t be that big. Besides curvy ususally meant having curves in the right places, not being overweight. Thats what guys usually mean by curvy. I guess girls just turned it around to feel better about themselves?
completely agree…so many girls say that they’re curvy when they’re fat….makes them feel better about themselves….when in reality everyone but thme sees them as fat
Sorry but Christina Hendricks is NOWHERE near overweight! I hate how the health argument is now being thrown all the time to justify picking on celebs that are not conventionally tiny!
Christina’s boobs make her look quite a bit massive, and her lower body is certainly not stick thin, but she looks fine. You can say you don’ t like her figure, but don’t say she’s unhealthy, doesn’t exercize and doesn’t eat properly!
I hate the “health” comments too. As if they really give a crap about a complete strangers health. Just say you think she looks too fat and be done with it, no need to hide behind cop-out excuses.
I prefer the skinny look and usually call out celebrities for being overweight and likely unhealthy, but Christina *seems* healthy.
She may be technically overweight on a BMI chart and I would never want to look like her, but I don’t think that she’ll die of any heart attacks any time soon.

I am more impressed by a person’s bust to waist to hip ratio than by the size of their waist in isolation. I think if someone has a bigger waist, but also a bigger bust to waist to hip ratio, it looks better than someone who has a small waist but without the curves. Even if you don’t think her waist is that small, she has great curves because her breasts and hips are a lot bigger than her waist. I love her figure.
I say as long as her waist not over 32 inches she’s going good. My guess as her mesaurements are along the lines of 40-29-42 so very voluptuous hourglass shape.
Also I guess her weight around 160lb at 5ft8.
If Christina is overweight than I must admit that I really love overweight women. I’m being sarcastic. Christina is nowhere overweight. I said it before, but damn… she’s the sexiest woman alive… Even my wife is not that sexy… *sigh*…

Mel. B looks bored out of her mind. And while neither of these bods are my personal preference, they look nice. And Christina Hendricks has a really pretty face. Mel B would too, if she woke up.
