It may seem unbelievable, however, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star Freida Pinto once denied the role of TV anchor on one of the channel, because of her lean and thin body in. In the words of Freida she was denied the anchor role due to her frail body. As the expectations of the Indian television media on the post of Anchor happens to be like voluptuous full-figured woman. It just goes to show 1) that all people face criticism about their bodies and 2) all cultures have different standards of beauty.
I know a lot of Chinese and Japanese women are extremely skinny and have small bones. However, I don’t know if this what they consider sexy. Geisha’s generally have a more rounded figure.
she looks pretty the way she is. olivia you’re right, it’s seems that women gets criticized for either looking too skinny or too fat. but it’s a double standard when it comes to skinny women. we can defend jessica simpson because she gain some weight but tell skinny women like freida pinto that they need to eat a burger when there are skinny women that’s naturally skinny.
curvy indian women are considered beautiful because it means you have enough $$ to eat. Trust me there are lots of VERY SKINNY women there but that is generally a sign of poverty and starvation….however I have notcied the last few years even many Bollywood stars are getting “Hollywood skinny” like Shilpa Shetty and Kareena Kapoor, and my friends who are middle class in India (regular ppl) also seem to be more affected by the Western standard of beauty.
I LOVE Freida and with her skinny little body and Christian name she might be accepted in Hollywood which is so cool!

I really love Freida Pintos performance in slumdog milionair. She is a great and beautifull actress. So now it is just awesome, that she will become the next bond girl.
