Evan Rachel Wood’s Makeover for Gucci
August 13, 2010 in Evan Rachel Wood, Makeover or Makeunder? by Versus

Evan Rachel Wood is usually ultra-pale and red-hot (hair-wise). Well, not in these new Gucci ads.
Golden bronze took Snow-White-like skin’s place and golden locks were chosen instead of sunny red.

Question: How do you like the results?

It’s impossible to look that white! She must use something that paint her skin.Oh i want it too
!
All my sisters are this colour! Just stay out of the sun, and always wear SPF70!
I’m that white
It’s my natural skin color.
It’s definitely not impossible.
god me too! everyone always says ‘wow, i’m pale but gosh…u are REALLY white arent you?!’…i usually hate it, especially living in aus where its ‘healthy’ to look brown. i can tan but i like pale skin on other ppl and i dont want to get more freckles and moles which i get when spend too much time in the sun! just wich my face wasnt acne scarred…then i would flaunt it more
same here. people comment that i’m pale usually, but in fluorescent lights or under camera flash my skin looks REALLY white
She’s gorgeous and unique looking. I love the pale skin, but not so much the red hair. Not surprised by the change-up in the adds. That’s the advertising and modeling world.
It’s a great example of fashion photographers thinking of models as a palette not a subject. It’s a shame though her skin is luminous and gorgeous. I’d be much more impressed by a photographer who could capture that than a editing job that looks like gold enamel. Sexy ad though.
Interesting comment…I didn’t think about it that way. But you’ve got a point.
I still love how she looks here…wow…she looks better IMO. She doesn’t pull off the pale look as well as Dita does–it looks unnatural, sickly or something on her. I love pale skin, but it seems like it doesn’t always look right. You know? Maybe it’s her makeup here. It’s too mauve or something…
I agree. I love the pale, and I’ve seen it on her better. The hair/makeup isn’t well done, and the colour looks all washed out.
Something about the title of “Guilty” seems apparopriate to her, given her ongoing relationship with Marilyn Manson. I think she’s normally an above attractive girl, but in that ad I wouldn’t have recognised her in the slightest. Her trademark is her red hair and ivory skin and in the top pic she could almost be any model.
Really? She looks much more interesting with her actual skin and hair!
I didn’t even recognize her!
I like the add, but her pale skin is so unique and beautiful!
Does anyone know her natural hair colour? I don’t think it’s red (Obviously it’s dyed, but how much?) and I might think it’s dark blonde?
yes i think it’s dark blonde- that was her hair colour in “thirteen” with nicky reed and i think it looked very natural.

She looks so much better with golden skin and blond hair. I never thought she was even remotely pretty before – here she looks stunningly gorgeous. I think the red hair and ivory skin age her and make her look too severe.
i agree.
she’s a natural blonde, so it makes more sense.
only natural redheads look right imo
even tough i love the ads , esp the 1st one i prefer to see her with usual pale skin
Wow, like the ads, but that doesn’t even look like her. She’s beautiful in real life too, but in a completely different way.
LOL!
Holy crap she looks amazing and way hotter in these ads!
I thought the red carpet picture was of Gillian Anderson.
she’s gorgeous in true blood!
I love the ad. She looks good with a little color. She also looks less pissed off, and that’s always nice.
Yay for pale girls.
I’m glad to see alot of you like the pale skin. I have been tanning for years and i’m ready to quit and embrace my paleness. I have always thought Evan Rachel Wood had gorgeous skin, that’s very close to how fair i am. I am going to go for the paleness!!!!
I am a little scared of being so fair with the blonde hair. I guess i just got so used to being tanned that it is like a security blanket, in a way.
I used to tan a lot as well but after a trip to Mexico I developed a relatively large brown spot on my face from sun damage. I also noticed some smile lines around my mouth. Shocked and horrified I immediately stopped tanning and now use spf 15-50 (depending on the time of year) everyday. The sunspot is almost gone and my smile lines have faded. Yay for anti-aging cream and sunblock.
PS: I’m only 26
Yea I agree she’s beautiful w/ either image, but in SUCH drastically different ways. I honestly can barely recognize her. The photog and art in that pic are actually quite something. Beautifully done.
she is gorgeous.I love her
I personally prefer her in the ad but the red hair and pale skin gives her a point of difference and makes her stand out more. Would never have recognised her
my skin is more “peaches and cream” then snow white pale, but i adore her skin! so classy! she looks great tan or pale i think!
She looks amazing both in the ads and in real life. Quite gorgeous, actually.
I like the pale look on her — she looks like the definition of porcelain beauty — but she’s lucky; you can only pull off looking that pale if you have perfect skin and a very thin figure.
the ads are beautiful but i find them a bit boring actually, even though her eyes are really amazing.
the bronze skin color goes with the fragrance bottle but her natural paleness would have been more intriguing – for me at least.
