On living with her flaws: “You have to not pretend to be perfect, because that’s not only boring as f–k, but it’s just not real… So I feel so liberated in that way. I just really want to be true to myself. That’s essential in life. I would never be able to put on a charade. I would totally f–k it up.”
On not buying clothes herself: “I never have time for shopping. I like it…I think? If i ever do go shopping, I hit thrift stores ’cause I know I’ll find new pieces around a job or a shot. I’ve been wearing the same f–king pair of jeans for 10 years.”

Yeah, I pretty much love her more than anyone in Hollywood- always have!
Oh puh-leeese. She’s wearing the same pair of jeans my arse. Probably the same 500$ pair of jeans she wear once a year, since she already has 364 more. Right next to her Hollywood red carpet outfits which she never wears twice, the rented million dollar jewelry. And let’s not get into the freebies stars get from designers trying to get recognition by having human billboards wear their stuff.
Oh yes, she’s just a average woman’s woman. *rolls eyes*
Hollywood red carpet outfits tend to be loaned to celebrities to wear so they can say “i’m wearing D&G, Versace, etc.” Same with jewelry. If a dress is actually bought by a celebrity I’ve heard that they are then auctioned off to charity and such. As for her jeans, I’m sure she has quite a few pairs, but I don’t doubt that she has a favorite pair she’s had forever. Even some celebrities don’t like shopping.
So, you know, no need to be so judgmental.
@ Rosie. Oh please, celebrities have plenty of clothes and designer items and it wouldn’t surprise me if she did have 300+ pair of jeans. They loan designer clothes during photoshoots, yes, but does that imply they don’t own a similar pair at home? Unless you’re lindsay lohan, celebs do buy excessive amount of clothes. Take a ‘average’ celebrity, jessica simposon, she has a louise vuitton bag for over 5000 dollars for her dog to poop in… Enough said. I’m not judging them, they earned their money and they can buy whatever they want. But don’t use excuses to hide the fact that they do waste alot of money on clothes they don’t even need and the chance of drew actually owning the same pair of pants for 10 years? Very VERY unlikely.
As for drew, i don’t know what to say…, i really don’t get her as a actress and person. In this interview she comes off WAY too lame. Uses the word ‘f–ck’ too much and trying to act all down to earth and cool. That’s the kind of attitude you’d expect of some 16 year old punk, isn’t drew a bit old for this kind of stuff? As for the thrift store comment, i say bs
I like that Drew is who she is- if she wants to be immature, and shop vintage (if you’ve seen her on the street (in pictures), she ALWAYS has thrifty finds on) and do whatever the hell she wants, regardless of what people thing is proper for “her age”. I hope I’m half as cool as her when I’m 35
I know you’re going to get a lot of slack for your comment, but I agree with you. The bottom line is that it is incredibly annoying when celebs try to pass off as being “average” in terms of their lifestyle and income. Drew Barrymore has more money than most small countries would knwo what to do with, so to hear her talk about how she has been wearing the same pair of jeans for 10 years sounds disingenuous

If I was a celebrity, I wouldn’t be able to give up my clothes and my thrift store shopping.
I would still wear the same dated, out of style things.
I’ve never seen a picture Drew Barrymore (off of the red carpet) where she’s wearing what appears to be million dollar jewelry and fancy clothing.
And as for the dresses on the red carpet, they ARE loaned and the red carpet is basically a giant advertisement for designer brands.

I dont think she was trying to come across as a “woman’s woman” by making the comment about never shopping, since most women love to shop. I believe her though, I never see photos of her clothes shopping, she probably has people who do that for her because she’s just not passionate enough about it to do it herself. She didn’t say she doesnt get new clothes, just that she doesn’t go shopping.

The comment has nothing to do with his ethnicity or religious beliefs and everything to do with the fact that he’s hideous.

She always looks gorgeous in the cover girl ads she does but both outfits here make her look heavy. What is with her and the vulgar language. I do not care for that at all it is totally unnecessary.

Drew is one of my favorite celebrities. Yes, she’s rich, famous, and has things that most of us couldn’t afford in a million lifetimes. But that doesn’t mean she’s some self-absorbed snob that only cares about designer labels and how big her house is. Every time I see a paparazzi pic of her, she’s just wearing jeans/shorts and a t-shirt or fairly plain top. She’s not walking around in Louboutins and Prada dresses to go to the grocery store a la Victoria Beckham. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing that, but it’s not something most of us can relate to. Everything I’ve ever read about Drew is that she lives a low-key life, loves riding the subway in NYC instead of having a drive and just enjoys simple things like most of us. She lived a Lindsay Lohan life before she was even 15 years old, but she got sober and has been one of the hardest-working women in Hollywood for 20 years now. I adore her. I’ve never heard one bad thing about her. By all accounts she’s down-to-earth, sweet, and approachable not someone who thinks she’s superior because of her fame.
The first thing I thought reading that was that she swears an awful lot!
I like her attitude if it’s real. I mean, almost all celebs are a bit hypocritical just in order to come across as ordinary people, like all the other mortals. However, I tend to believe her, she has always been very frank and straightforward.

I think what she means is that she has found a particular style/cut/brand of jeans and she’s stuck to it for the past 10 years. If I find a pair of a jeans that I like, I usually buy multiple pairs, so I can always have a pair even when the others wear out. That might sound a little weird, but if you like something, and it works for you, you might as well stick to it.
I can’t stand her. Every time I read an interview with her, she totally overuses the f-word. Some article where she was promoting Whip-It was F every other word.
Maybe this is her new thing. Used to be happy hippy flower child, and now that she’s older and can’t pull that off, she’s the keepin’ it real street-smart power chick. or whatever.

I’m joking, wether that’s true or not, she probably didn’t mean it literally.
I just don’t like it that she says “f*ck” twice in few lines. That’s something I would avoid doing in an enterview, but wait, I might never even get the chance.
And, oh, she is gorgeous, but that last picture got her some pair of Stallone eyes and such messy hair that make her look stoned, lol!

God, those shorts in the 1st picture are awful! They make her look like she has a belly, which she probably doesn’t! And I kinda find the swearing a bit juvenile. You’d think you’d watch your mouth in an interview.
