Christina Hendricks Brings Today’s Quote
February 28, 2012 in Celebrity Quotes, Christina Hendricks by Versus

Christina is “credited” with the rise in demand for boob jobs: “I hope I’m not encouraging that. If there’s anything to be learned from me it’s that I’m learning to celebrate what I was born with, even though it’s sometimes been inconvenient. Having larger breasts has made it harder to shop, but I’ve learned to love it… But now I feel like everyone talks about my bust in public.”
… says Christina in The Mirror.
To see her with a smaller bust in Playboy a few years back, check out this post!

The only thing I ever discuss concerning her breast is how she always squooshes them up to her neck.
lol i kno thats true, but in her defense as a big boobed girl myself, if you dont push them up they look like they are part of your stomach and make you look fat.
fat keeps warm during the winter, she might use them as a scarf.
LOL
when u have those boobs… u pretty much realize that there is no way to wear a fitted dress without them going up. where the hell else are they supposed to go?
Can’t they just loosen the top of the dress a bit? Or put a little bit more fabric at the top?
I think she looks great, but the breasts always seem to throw off the outfits.
I agree with her, i see her more as someone who embraces her figure when it isn’t what might be portrayed as the ideal. Idk how honest her comfortableness is but still. I don’t look at her and wish for bigger boobs. Granted i’m pretty anti-surgery to begin with but it’s more with the thin, fit women who still have that curvaceous body that i sometimes wish my body was a little different. Here i go talking about boobs again in a CH post but i do wish she would talk / be asked about something else too, i mean even about body related things, hence suitable for this site.
Agree so much!
hahaha thank you chiz – i wanted to say the excat same thing.
its just too obvious
If it bugs you that the public talk about your breasts so much, maybe you should stop talking about them too?
Love the color of her hair & skin. Very striking.
“Christina is “credited” with the rise in demand for boob jobs.” Haha. I don’t think so.
I don’t know nor have I ever known any female who wants gigantic fake boobs. The whole gigantic fake boob moment was popular in the adult film industry for a period years ago but no where else.
Agree. Women were getting implants way before anyone knew who she was, & they’re still getting them only not the gigantic ones that quote suggests. They go for smaller believable ones, so crediting her for that seems ignorant.
Women’s insecurity and unhappiness with their bodies are to blame for the increase in implants, not Christina Hendricks.
If women cared as much about their education as they did about their breasts, our society might actually improve.
Agree Debbs!
Agreed!
Yes, thank you!
Here here!!
Agreed! Stop blaming admired celebrities for your unhappiness!
Agree very much.
wow! I cant believe her tits were that small! I am 130lbs and DD and when I go down to 120lbs my boobs hardly budge. But than again she is quite bigger than 130lbs so maybe holding so much weight they got that big? Its hard to say, I think everyone loses and gains weight in different places
she has gained quite a bit and maybe she gains easily in her boobs, but also in the triangle bikini she has a lot of side boobage. My boobs are pretty far apart, which makes them look smaller, and for years i wore 34 AA, and i did try other sizes but they didn’t seem to fit, until i switched to 32 C (which fits great to my surprise), and finally it looks like i have boobs
why am i sharing this stupid information, simply bc in a proper bra her boobs might look much bigger even in that Playboy era.
actually i have never heard someone talking about her breasts in public… or about her in general.
I don’t think her breasts look ‘small’ in the Playboy pictures – they still look quite big to me there, just not pushed up at all and obviously she is a lot slimmer there overall than she is now. I don’t believe they are implants – she has gained quite a bit of weight and a lot of it has gone to her chest – some people are like that!
) with what she’s got and trying to accept and celebrate herself the way she is. That’s what people should do – not go out and pay huge amounts of money to undergo cosmetic surgery!
I think you must be an incredibly shallow and sad person to go out and get plastic surgery because someone on tv has big boobs! Blaming (crediting – surely not?!) CH for a rise in breast implants is silly and I agree with what she says. Big boobs are a pain when it comes to buying clothes – but she’s doing the best (well, often not, imo
Oh please, so Hendricks’ is supposed to cop the blame for a growing female population with breasts that can float? Quite simply, we are human beings and by nature we are insecure and seek to ‘perfect’ what we deem to be imperfect. Sure it doesn’t help that we have media outlets that emphasise our flaws but we can’t add CH as a contributer to that problem just because she has big breasts.
she perpetuates her sex symbol status, but is uncomfortable with people talking about her boobs so much. i think this is somewhat of a contradiction. fascination with boobs is ridiculous, but it’s also one of the reasons (not the only one) that she is really famous right now. it’s like j-lo saying “everyone talks about my butt in public”. well duh!
i’m not going to even acknowledge the “credit in the rise of boob jobs” (rolls eyes)
I’d just like to say that I don’t think it’s contradictory for her to make a statement about her breasts and in it claim “everyone talks about my bust in public”. Firstly, she appears to be responding to something someone has told her, or questioned her about (that being that she may have influenced a rise in breast augmentations); and secondly, she does not say she is uncomfortable with people talking about her breasts, just acknowledges the fact that a lot of people do.
Rant over.
True krist. I think having the whole interview rather than just one quote can really put things in context. Context is everything!
“But now I feel like everyone talks about my bust in public.”
Gosh I wonder why. Could it be because she shoves them up on display almost every chance she gets? Like every other ditzy celeb who innocently wonders why he/she gets noticed for something they actively promote?
Agreed! She may not be happy about it, but she’s famous for her boobs. She’s a good actress on Mad Men, but if she hadn’t these boobs, nobody would talk about her that much
I know people don’t really like her, but i actually like this quote. Obviously she herself doesn’t take the “credit” for the rise in boob jobs… she is told about it and asked how it makes her feel, and I like her response. Instead of using the stereotypical “real woman with curves” answer she is saying you should embrace the shape you have – and not try to be anyone else besides yourself.
That being said – I don’t think she has learned to dress her body very well. I, as a big boobed girl myself, know how hard it is to dress – you’re very likely to get grandma boobs when covering them up or looking very vulgar if you show them even just a little. It’s a fine line, and it is really limiting to the kinds of clothes you can buy.
But she has money, designers and stylists at hand, so it’s strange that she can’t find something that suits her better (maybe she thinks the overly pushed up look is suiting her, who knows). But if i was a designer i would probably take it as a challenge, and try to design clothes for her that would look really good. The designer who did that would probably get a lot of praise, so why don’t they just accept the challenge?
She looks way better on Mad Men, maybe she should use that 60′s Joan Holloway style a bit more.
And like others I agree that I find it hard to believe that CH has inspired more boobs jobs. Yes a lot of girls really want big boobs, but I think that most girls find CH’s boobs to be too big. But like I said: I don’t think CH came up with that, so she shouldn’t be “blamed” for that
I agree – finding clothes is hard with big boobs, but I for one would find it much easier if I had a stylist to help me! She really has no excuse with her money and fame – she can find great clothes that flatter her for every occasion. We ‘normal people’ have to make do on our own!
Exactly, and look at sofia vergara, she doesn’t always get it right but usually she dresses her figure very well and she is EXTREMELY curvy, she just makes sure her clothes fit her body in all the right places!
i find it extremely hard to believe girls would look at her boobs and think ‘i’d like a pair of those’, they’re always raked up to her neck and look like a lot of effort to carry around/dress, plus they’re gonna go saggy.
I actually do like this quote from her. She is right, you got to work with what you got! You can get surgeries to change how you appear but in the end you got to accept whatever it is you have, natural or unnatural. I don’t know anyone who sees her boobs though and has said they want a boob job… More likely other celebs famous boobs are more influential but I don’t think boob jobs are anything new!
Rise in boob jobs? Why on earth would she inspire that? Her boobs are too big, why would anyone see her huge painfully pushed up cleavage as something desirable. there is sexy big and then just comically big, she falls into this category. As for working with what shes got, oh please, she’s forever trapped in a role as the 50′s redhead. All ppl talk about is her boobs because thats all u see when u look at her.
agree
)
Right on the money Anastasia! It’s always the boobs, max the fake red-hair that gets people’s attention. With her natural blonde hair color, and without the impeccable styling, she hardly looks striking. Tbh, I would much rather have Keeley Hazell’s “big” breasts than Christina’s.
Keeley Hazell’s breasts are awesome : )
Excuse me, but boob jobs have been popular for decades. What a lame quote.
Often the quote will be stupid if the question is stupid, to me it seems like a stupid reporter asked a question that obviously is bs but she has to answer it the best she can. I think this must happen to alot celebs who talk about there body alot.
I think it would be easy to embrace your appearance when you’re famous in part for being super beautiful. Having huge tits doesn’t hurt. This does not make me feel like embracing myself at all.
I guess I should add that that’s clearly my own issue and not hers; she’s sending a nice message.
I’m actually starting to like her attitude, even if I don’t love her figure. What she says is true, promoting her body should be promoting diversity, not furthering another narrow ideal.
I don’t know why people think her boobs are fake. They are much much smaller in the Playboy pics, but she has gained a lot of weight since then, most bigger women have big breasts it goes with the territory.
that’s a very lovely picture of her. i don’t know whether her boobs or real or fake and i don’t really care. i think she has a nice attitude and seems confident and that’s all that matters. i don’t mind people getting plastic surgery if it allows them to be content with themselves. it only makes me sad if people get it but are still unhappy and are only getting procedures done because of some need that can’t be satisfied. i like the look of her fair skin. i wish i were more confident wearing my own that way
I actually like her statement about accepting and working with what you have. I for one spent many years beating myself up over my weight. While I was never fat, I know I will never be smaller than a size 8 without making myself ill and it’s only been over the course of the past two years that I’ve finally learned to both accept and embrace that reality. By the way, ladies have been getting boob jobs for decades, so that bit about her being credited with a rise in boob jobs is ridiculous. If I remember correctly, big boobs were more desirable back when I was in high school 15 years ago. To me it seems as though we are in an age where junk in the trunk is more desirable than a good sized rack.
well, doh, those ridiculously too big boobs are what she’s famous for:)) just like kim k’s fake butt.
people just ignore the whole package
Lol, I don’t the average woman just turns into Christina Hendricks because they get a boob job. She’s gorgeous, and she’s different and unique. But she is right, you should accept yourself how you are, and just be the best you can be.
