Cheryl Burke: “I Was Never Overweight”
June 1, 2010 in Celebrity Quotes, Cheryl Burke by Versus

Dancer Cheryl Burke was in the celebrity body gossip spotlight last year, when various magazines were calling her “fat” for gaining a few pounds. See this post for her explanation! Now, Cheryl wants to make it clear that she was never in the overweight range. From Us Magazine:
Cheryl Burke knows what it’s like to struggle with her weight. Just two years ago, the Dancing With the Stars fourth-place runner-up, 26, caught flak for her curves.
“It’s not like I was overweight,” the 5-foot-4 dancer tells the new issue of Us Weekly. “But as you get older, your metabolism slows.”
To drop the extra five pounds, she cut out red meat the cheese and swapped white carbs for whole-wheat bread and gluten-free pasta. When not rehearsing for DWTS, she attends thrice weekly Jazzercise classes and goes on 4-mile runs up to five days a week.
“I don’t weigh myself on a scale. I feel the difference in my clothes and the way they fit,” she tells Us. “When I’m on the show, my body changes a lot. I try to maintain it.”

euw,yeeeeeeeeees.
no flattering angle
muffin top :-s
While I never thought she was overweight, she certainly would look a million times better in a different suit
Honestly her body isn’t so bad. Her stomach just looks a little wide for my taste but she looks really healthy
… Okay.
I think different, but if she’s healthy and really feels that good about her looks, that’s what matters!
Ah, yeah, and that bikini bottom is very unflattering, because the ties draw all the attention for her hips!
Also, the print is horrendous, imo. x_x
i do not think she was overweight, and i don’t think she evern looked bad at all…i think her body is cute in the picture.
BUT using age as an excuse? please! SHE IS 26! i know maybe some people’s metabolism slows after their teens when they stop growing, but that is usually people who had very high metabolisms. and she is well past the point of just leaving her teens, is ONLY 26, and exercises for a living. i am not buying the whole ‘age’ thing. she is WAY too young for that. look at jennifer aniston and try to say that! she may have to work harder now that she is 40 than when she was 20, but she makes it happen.
however….she doesn’t really look 26 to me. i could buy the whole age thing, maybe, if it turned out that she was significantly lying about her age. but i doubt it, and even still, even if she was 31 or 32, i still wouldn’t buy it.
My metabolism slowed down when i was like 13 (or it felt like it, of course most people don’t actually measure their metabolism and kinda just throw the option of a slow / fast metabolism out there) But i think she might mean she’s had to watch her weight already, maybe it wasn’t so before. But i agree it’s not an excuse, apart from a lucky few you gotta work for your body.
My metabolism began to slow down after age 25. I need to work much harder to stay in shape these days and I’m only 28.
I am the only one that think she looks hot? Maybe not the average girls dream body..but that kinda body is LOVED by guys….
i thought she looked beautiful.
versus, what body type does cheryl have here?
I think she is a pear. She carries a bit more weight on her bottom half (hips & thighs and legs), she has a small-medium bust and small shoulders.
She a bell which is basically similar to a pear shape but shorter waisted.

well she looks fat to me
wow?? if thats fat then 99.9% of america is obese..
personally I would feel overweight if I was like that. Im proud of her for her confidence and if she is comfortable as she is then I think she looks great. However that is not healthy. The amount of fat that she’s carrying around her midsection does put her at health risks
Her fat is more concentrated around the hips and thighs. There is a little extra belly fat but her waistline is not carrying any excess.
Hey what are the health risks of tanning when you’re really old??? (JUst looking at grandma in the pic foreground…)
She has a really broad mid-section. But she is a cute girl.
She has a good waist to hip ratio, which is always what matters when it comes to looking feminine.
She has a healthy amount of body fat. If a doctor assessed her weight, taking into account all of the crucial factors like frame size, muscle mass, body shape, bone density, body fat percentage, height ect, i’m certain the health professional would declare that this woman is very healthy.
People often confuse fitness and health. Fitness is a person’s capability to carry out physical exertion and sports. Being healthy includes having a certain, optimum, amount of fitness. But being super fit, like an athlete, is actually not healthy! In fact, female athletes often experience fertility problems and amenhorrea (periods stop) because they maintain almost no body fat and a high muscle mass. This isn’t what nature intended for females, because our fertility hormones are stored in body fat, and when you don’t have enough body fat, you don’t have the hormones to tell your brain to ovulate (release an egg). Females also need body fat to nourish a baby, because body fat stores important nutrients…. That’s why a malnourished woman with no body fat can give birth to a baby with defects.
She’s standing with her hips relaxed to the left, so all the fat is pushed to her left hip. This makes this picture a “bad shot”. However, i think Cheryl looks ok. She certainly doesn’t look overweight, she may not be as tight and toned as you might expect a dancer to be, but she’s a healthy weight and has a healthy amount of body fat. She is by no means, as some people on this site might say, “fat”.
i have to stand up for this girl . i am a belly dancer but if you see me u wouldnt think that i have that long lean dancers body . Cheryl is beautiful
& for the type of dancing that i do , trust me the girls r never skinny , we always have lil pudges on our tummies but it helps us move the way that we need 2 . so i feel that just bcuz she is a dancer , ppl need to hop off of her weight.
great surname
Anyone who thinks she is fat needs to have their head examined! I like to think I am a pretty good looking, fit dude and I would be proud to have a women who looks like Cheryl on my arm. Love her body! Women are supposed to look like women and she is 100% woman.
Lets also not forget that the #1 sex symbol of all time would be considered fat by the standards of you half-wits. That is right folks Marilyn Monroe is about the same size as Cheryl.
She is not fat!!!! Prove positive the American standard of beauty should NOT be taken seriously. If she was an aneroxic size zero with double D boobs, you would all be drooling over how “hot” she is. Seriously, fat is not the word that should be used to describe her. Those who consider he fat probably have low self esteem and live in their mother’s basements.
This isn’t what nature intended for females, because our fertility hormones are stored in body fat, and when you don’t have enough body fat, you don’t have the hormones to tell your brain to ovulate, Great Work Dud33.
